Perfect get away Casita to relax and enjoy the many activities around Corrales and Albuquerque !

  • 5 of 5

Couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for our trip to the Balloin fiesta! Casita is nestled in front of a beautiful apple orchard. Very private and relaxing. Gary and Melissa have equipped their beautiful place with everything anyone would need. We loved all of the native decor. We really enjoyed both patios and walking around the grounds! Gary was so easy to communicate with upon our arrival and made things so easy. We will definitely be coming back next year and hope we can reserve this place again! One of our perfect trips! Thanks Gary and Melissa!

Very peaceful and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

The house is nice and the chickens are sweet. The neighborhood is fun to walk around in. Lots of nature and veiws. The little town is adorable. We reccomend having the cold brew coffee at Gypsie's. They use iced coffee chunks instead of ice cubes. Hannah and Nates has good food too.

Beautiful Secluded Adobe Cassita

  • 5 of 5

This cassita feels miles away from civilization but is actually very close to everything you could need. The Adobe house is quite roomy for two couples. The two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house for added privacy (One king and one queen, both quite firm). There are two living rooms plus outside seating in the front courtyard and the back patio. Although there are neighbors nearby, you can't see them from the house. Kitchen and dining room are good size but there are plenty of restaurants nearby if you don't want to cook. Washer and dryer off the covered back patio. Beautiful saltillo tile floors throughout. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a secluded authentic southwest experience. Thank you Gary for sharing your beautiful home.

Peaceful and Revitalizing

  • 5 of 5

Nestled up against an apple orchard out the back windows with the Sandia Ridge in view to the East, I found the casita tucked back on a dead end street with speed limits set for 15mph to be extremely private, tranquil and beautiful. My dog, Libby, accompanied me on this trip. There was a bowl of cool water set out for her and the minute we walked into the casita, she immediately went to it for a long drink and I knew she felt right at home. This was particularly important to me because Libby was recovering from an illness and my hope was to allow her a restful time to recover. And, I am happy to say that our stay there brought revitalization to her. She left stronger than when she arrived. She was fed eggs from the chickens who peck away in their compound at the edge of the property. Who doesn't like a freshly laid egg in the mornings?

While Libby slept on the cool tile floors, I set up my easel in the back patio where there were images of cottonwoods, flowering shrubs, and distant mountains to paint. The added benefit made the casita ideal for my retreat with Libby.

Gary, the host, was responsive from the beginning to the end. My decision to travel to Corrales was made the day before I wanted to stay. To my relief, Gary got in touch within 12 hours and my lodging was secured. Many of my questions were answered in the handbook guide to the property. The kitchen was stocked adequately and this was essential to me as I wanted to prepare all of my meals during my stay. However, I did noticed many good choices for restaurants within a short drive if i wanted to dine out.

The AirConditioning was welcomed considering temperatures were typically hot for July in Corrales. This plus the ceiling fans made for a very comfortable stay. The beds were comfortable and every room was nicely cleaned and fresh.

The casita is spaciously laid out with a courtyard in the front and a back patio for seating outside. The interior was tastefully accented with a southwestern motif which I felt was charming.

To my delight, I discovered the Rio Grande within a short walk with lots of trails. It occurred to me that bringing a bicycle would be fun in the future since there are numerous paths to bike.

I totally enjoyed my stay at the Casita Near the Bosque and hope that in the future, for other reasons, I might return to this haven of peacefulness. It was what Libby and I needed. Thank you, Gary!
