Excellent...Perfect

  • 5 of 5

What a great time at Cap K. I stayed there almost 2 weeks and had family come and go, the house was great for entertainment and plenty of room for those staying the night. The scenery is majestic!! The fishing was excellent and the bike rides from Basalt to Aspen were incredible. Basalt is a neat little town with restaurants, shopping, a nice outdoor market on Sunday...good grocery stores just a mile down the road at El Jebel. Aspen and Glenwood Springs are only a 30 minute drive away, so take a day and visit those great towns. Many thanks to Lynn (owner) and Dave (ranch manager) for all their help while we were there. We will be back!!

Second Stay as Perfect as the First

  • 5 of 5

This was my second visit to the Ranch. The first visit in 2013 was purely for fly-fishing the area with a buddy, this year we brought spouses too. From the sublimely quiet mornings, with only the birds for aural pleasure, to the very dark night, with skies holding more stars than you've ever seen, this is an idyllic location for those wanting mountain serenity with civilization close by.

The house has all the amenities one could want, is surrounded by open space with wonderful views. Very comfortable, with bedrooms spread out for privacy and plenty of space. The Frying Pan river is just across the road, with a mile of exceptional fly fishing for wild, native trout. Nearby Basalt and Carbondale offer everything one could ask - good restaurants, bike rentals, Whole Foods grocery, weekend farmer's market and on and on.

Renting is easy as the agent is responsive and helpful. The owners, who live in the houses nearer the road, are exceptionally friendly and helpful too.

I would definitely (and have) recommend this home. I know we'll be back again.
