About Sara Elena
¡Hola! All this is because three people love each other; Nathalie (our daughter who enjoys hiking, SCUBA diving and long walks to the refrigerator), Ara (Nat's dad loves the Oakland A's and Hunter S. Thompson) & Sara (Nat's mom feels there is just not enough wine in this world) so please meet our familia. We live in the back house, which is 'upstairs' (68 to be exact). We love to travel, food, wine and the outdoors, but most of all we love helping our guests explore and enjoy the Central Coast. ¡Salud!

Why Sara Elena chose Avila Beach
Our dear guests say it best: "You can tell from the moment you walk in the front door that the owners have poured their heart and soul in making Casa San Miguelito a special place." And, we have. This is -- and continues to be -- a true labor of love. We are NOT a typical vacation rental: We want all our guests to feel special and a part of our CSM familia. Therefore, we try to make their experience an enjoyable, everlasting memory from the moment they receive their Official Welcome Letter, that details what you can expect, to the "Until Your Next Visit" thank-you note and special gift that lets each guest know how appreciative we are that they chose CSM for their special stay!
What makes this cottage unique
It's quite a funny story why we chose to buy this property because, as we share with each guest, we feel like Casa San Miguelito in Avila Beach really chose us! Like many of our guests, we didn't even know Avila Beach existed before a chance turn-off of Highway 101. The Beach Boys sang about Pismo Beach, but in our opinion, the real gem is Avila. Little did we know the tremendous support we would receive from the locals in watching us rehabilitate this beautiful beach cottage (mostly done by the three of us) and how living in this small, quaint community would remind us about being polite to everyone, putting your worries into perspective, taking time to breath in the fresh air ... and being grateful. Our sincere hope is that our guests, after meeting us and experiencing one of the last historical beach homes in AB, feel the same way! Fortunately, they do and that reminds us of why we chose this special part of paradise!
