Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Buxton for our honeymoon, Sept 5-10, 2016. It was so quiet and restful!! Cottage C was everything that we needed and more. Our dog Gabby loved it here too and we loved being able to bring her. She got to experience the ocean and the sound! Thanks for always being available and your quick response whenever we needed anything. We would definitely recommend your cottages to our friends and family.

Thanks a bunch,

Rochelle, Austin and Gabby

A little piece of paradise

  • 5 of 5

This property was amazing! If you want to unwind from it all, this is the place. The cottage was wonderful. Very roomy, clean, nicely decorated and the bed was so comfortable! The quality of the furniture really makes you relaxed. We enjoyed sitting out on the sound, listening to waves and getting the breeze. We didn't catch any fish but the little crabs were well feed from all the bait I use. Perhaps next time we can go out in the canoe. The location was ideal too! We could just jumped in our vehicle and get anywhere in town within a few minutes. The locals were really nice and we enjoyed eating at all the mom and pop restaurants as well. There is really nothing I would change about the place. You really have everything you need. We loved having the broom and sweeper to get up all the sand in the cottage so everything was kept nice and tidy! It is nice having a washer and dryer there. The owners were very friendly. We had a slight problem connecting to the internet and as a tip if you stay in Cottage C, the internet code is on the bottom of the modem box on the bar counter. Problem solved! Thanks again for a wonderful stay and we have no need to look any further for a place to stay when we come back. Sincerely, The White's~ Aug 2016

The location was quiet, clean and close to beach access!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed for a long week at the location along with our small dog. It was perfect! The space was ideal for my husband and I and two small kids who slept on the couch. I would stay here again and recommend it especially for a couple just looking to sneak away for a while. Judy was helpful and responsive to communications. The only improvements that could be made were the shower head doesn't have the best water pressure and I struggled to connect to wifi (that might have been user error however). It should also be noted that if you have trouble going up and down stairs this might not be a great choice. Great overall value!

Nice, quiet unit - bring TP

  • 4 of 5

The property has everything needed for a relaxing getaway. The location is ideal, close to a grocery store, a sports bar, eateries, a quick walk to the sound and about a mile to the ocean. My concerns were that we didn't receive the entry code earlier or even specifications on how to access the rental. Thankfully, the owner was working outside the unit as we arrived. Also, the email we received on how to leave the home (dispose of trash, etc.) at the end of our stay was different from what we read in the binder inside the unit. I think there needs to be better communication between the owner and rental company. Lastly, I thought it was a little bizarre that we were only provided with one roll of toilet paper and that was stated in the binder, yet there was a deep fryer and a gallon of Crisco in the kitchen. I'm not sure why that is, but I would've preferred more toilet paper.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the nice things you had to say about our cottage. The entrance codes are given out a few days before your arrival for safety reason. The complimentary items are listed for your convenience, such as one roll of toilet paper, one roll paper towels, two garbage bags, dishwasher soap, bubbles for kitchen dishes, scrubbie for pots and pans, coffee filters, salt and pepper. These items are provided until you can get to the store and purchase those items for yourself. Most cottages do not furnish those items for you. Most people go to the grocery store for the items needed for their stay. There are all kinds of kitchen ware for your convenience, deep fat fryers, crock pots, steamers, pots and pans, blenders, toaster and waffle maker. There is no gallon of cooking oil in the kitchen nor do we provide it or leave it in the cottage if the reservation before you should leave it, we would throw it away. Our instructions are to throw all food away and not to leave in cabinets or refrigerator. We ask the occupants to remove their garbage bags to the container outside upon leaving. There are guide lines available to you before you make a reservation, and those same guidelines are provide in a note book in the cottage for your convenience. I believe motels furnish all toilet paper to you for your entire stay. When you informed me that you were entering the village the entrance code and instructions were given to you. I have a copy of the date and time. Thank you for your input.

My husband and I can't say enough good things about Judy and her family. This was by far one of the best places we have ever stayed at. Judy made us feel extremely welcome and treated us like family. This will forever be our vacation spot!
