We all had a wonderful time staying at the cabin.
We had a great time during our stay. The cabin was far enough out to experience peace and quiet, and the views were extraordinary.
Such a beautiful log home! Close the town but out in the country. We will be back! ❤from Texas
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, a well-crafted timber-framed building, with warm and cheerful decor. The kitchen is spacious with plenty of counter space (important for us, as we cook a lot when staying at rentals). Loved having a dishwasher, also a personal must for a relaxing vacation rental. The cabin was very clean. Great views, and fun watching daily elk herds, mule deer herds, and the osprey pair fishing in Echo Lake. Cabin is 5 minutes from town, yet with the expansive in-the-country setting we always hope for. The Pagosa Springs area is fantastic, with gorgeous scenery and full of things to do and see. Chimney Rock National Monument for example is a truly unique experience and wonderful place to learn about ancient cultures that lived in the area 1800 years ago. The Alley Grill in town is FABULOUS for a perfectly-executed gourmet meal. Pagosa Bakery also a good stop.
We encountered a couple of issues: The outdoor propane grill we counted on (it was in the listing description) was useless even though there was plenty of fuel. The burners were so inefficient (probably needed cleaning) that food wouldn't heat properly. The DVD player we also counted on (per the rental's description) didn't work, with no remedy offered when we called.
Overall a nice experience!
Sounds like you you enjoyed a lot of the natural beauty that Pagosa is known for.
Thanks for your feedback on the grill and dvd player.
I have replaced the grill with a new one and am currently addressing the dvd player.
Great secluded location, missing some modern amenities
We really liked the location of this cabin. Nestled on a hill, overlooking Echo Lake, far enough away from Pagosa Springs to feel relaxed, but close enough to shop if needed. What could have been better about it is full disclosure of the quality of internet service. We have two young kids who love to play on their iPods after a long day of hiking or floating down the San Juan, but the internet was delivered through a satellite dish and reminded me of a 56K dial-up modem. There is also no land line phone service at the cabin and our cell phones only work on the second floor. Also, there were many burned out light bulbs throughout the house, which was not a big deal for us, but it was slightly annoying.
If you're looking to totally disconnect, then this is the cabin for you!
We agree that this is the cabin to come to for a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle.
Thanks for letting me know about the light bulbs, wish I had known sooner. I will address getting replacements right away.

I loved the location. Very nice and quiet. The house was clean and well maintained. One problem only- the whole house smelled like skunk!! Maybe one was living underneath? Everything else was great!
Glad you like the location and peacefulness.
No, no skunks in the basement, although it seems that a skunk had a meeting with something nearby, hazard of having a cabin in the woods. Smell comes and goes and will dissipate with time.
