Overview

About the property

Quiet cul de sac, close to park, play ground and pool. Stay 7 nights, pay for 6

Casa Aurora has been appointed with you in mind. I've stayed at a number of vacation homes and so emphasized the things that were important to me when putting the Casa Aurora together. Here's what you won't find:

-one small frying pan that you have to use to cook every thing.

-no serving dishes

-using the same glass over and over.

- I could go on and on.

Instead we've tried to ensure that you're equipped with plenty of all the basics and even some of the 'nice to haves'. For instance, the kitchen is stocked with basic spices, cooking oils, flour, sugar, ketchup and miscellaeous other items that you might want to use but may not use up an entire container. There are coffee beans (and a grinder), as well as an assortment of K-cups. Our intent here isn't to necessarily keep you fully supplied in these items throughout your stay, depending on the length of your stay, but rather to get you started. We hope your use some common sense and a spirit of community as you consume these items. If you use something, please leave something.

Netflix is available on all the TV's and there's a ROKU 3 box connected to the Living Room TV. Feel free to login to other services you might own and be able to access. Local channels are available on the upstairs TV's via antennas, and there's a DVD player connected to the Master Bedroom TV. Any paid services will be at the guests expense.

The house is located in a neighborhood with a community center. There's free access to the park, playground, tennis courts , sand volleyball and basketball courts, and horseshoe pits. The Olympic sized swimming pool is open during summer months. Within the pool area, cabanas can be rented at guests' expense.

Prior to your arrival, I am available through both the website and mobile app to help you with questions about Casa Aurora or San Antonio as you plan your vacation. I keep my calendar up to date although I do book vacations outside of this site.

Once you book a stay at my home, I will be available to ensure you are comfortable knowing what amenities are available and what you might need to bring from home.

After you arrive, I'll either greet you personally or by telephone to once again ensure everything is up to you expectation and to help with any questions you have.

Here are a couple of reviews from another vacation booking site:

'Torri is an excelent and honest host. She was great and very communicative, even though we never met each other in person!"

"The house was very clean, so relaxing and (website hidden) was as described on the website, but with many nice goodies: condiments, pans, plates, glasses, cutlery, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and more that will facilitate your stay. Having a washer and dryer (soap included) was very convenient. "

"For a family of 6 members, the beds are sufficient. The house was perfect for our family to stay a week in San Antonio. The master bedroom is large, with spacious bathrooms and dressing. "

"The pool, tennis courts and community park was so near the house (50 yards away). The house is north of the city of San Antonio, but there are many businesses for all needs. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet."

August 2014

'Torri's house was really a lovely place to stay. It was right near a community park and pool, and we enjoyed taking walks in the neighborhood. And of course the Hill Country is a great place to spend time! We would definitely consider renting again.'

August 2014

"The house was wonderful. I treated it as my own. Marla was wonderful. Thanks again for your hospitality."

About Torri Connelly

I travel extensively for work and pleasure and that has led me to hosting my future retirement home. I grew up in San Antonio and still spend a fair amount of time in town. I love sharing its rich history and charm. Among my favorite things to do are visiting the McNay Art Museum, exploring the exploding restaurant scene, listening to jazz at places like the Cove or Blue Star Brewery and attending Missions baseball games or Stars basketball games.

My favorite travel destinations are Paris, Oslo, NYC, San Antonio, Eresos, and most other beaches. If I wasn't living near San Francisco right now, then SF would be at the top of my list. I like big cities and beaches.

I guess my life's motto would be the old golf adage, 'Clean up after yourself and a little more.' I try to live this way and believe most of our big problems wouldn't seem so overwhelming if everyone took this to heart.

Torri Connelly purchased this house in 2002

Why Torri Connelly chose San Antonio

I bought this house to be near friends and lived here for several years. I hope to retire here in a few more years but in the meantime I'd like to share my home with you. Since I've owned the house, I've made several improvements that I hope will make your stay more comfortable; these include new flooring upstairs and down, a new covered deck, and all new furniture (purchased in early 2014). I also like where the house is located within San Antonio; easy access to all the downtown attractions (15-20 min drive) but also close to the Texas hill country - Guadalupe State Park, Schilitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels and Canyon Lake and are between 15 and 45 minutes from the house.

What makes this house unique

My favorite spot in the Spring months is the backyard porch. The wildflower garden is usually in full bloom at that time which means lots of color and butterflies. During the Fall and Winter months, my favorite spot is the covered deck during a thunderstorm. I built the deck specifically so I could sit outside during our wonderful San Antonio lightning shows.

Charming 3 bdrm home, in a quiet neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

This home is in a quiet cul-de-sac with access to a recreation center. Close to major thoroughfares, and shopping. This home had everything we needed for our stay, and was extremely comfortable and relaxing. All sporting equipment provided to take advantage of the offerings at the rec center. I highly recommend this home for any length of stay, and will be in contact to use again the next time I'm in San Antonio.

Our overall impression is as follows,

We very much enjoyed your home. We were not there during the day as we were attending our company's Annual convention at the J.W. Marriott Resort. It was nice coming to a home after a long day instead of going a hotel room. These are some of the things that we feel need to be corrected.

1. Please replace some the old bottles in the refrigerator. Hard to tell how old the contents were.

2.The overhead light in the Master Bed Room need a chain for the fan.

3. We were not able to enjoy the TV's due to the complicated method to turn them on. The main one only had a couple of local channels. It could have been our fault, not sure.

4. I will still say that we enjoyed the property very much and hope to come back again.

Thank you,

Al Gonzalez

Comfortable and Cozy!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was very comfortable, and in a great location. The house was very clean as advertised and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. While you're not right on the highway, you're just close enough to jump on and off to get to anywhere in the city - which is super convenient. The owner was very responsive via email and the price is appropriate . Will definitely stay again for another trip back to San Antonio!

Excellent Stay! Great location!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was top notch. This home has everything you could ask for... plenty of beds, a nice kitchen, and flat screen TVs in every room with Netflix! Plus, there is a nice community pool about 500 feet from the front door! The landlord is exceptionally nice as well! Will be staying here again and again when in San Antonio!

We had a very nice stay here. House was as advertised. Very clean with everything you would need. It's very close to lots of shopping, restaurants, and many of the local attractions. There is also a very nice amenity center and park within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

Great first vacation home rental!!

  • 5 of 5

As this was my first vacation home rental I wasn't real sure what to expect. I was very satisfied with the accommodations. This was a very nice place to stay. We meet up with our daughter, son-in-law and grandkids that were on leave from Alaska. Lots of room, kids loved the community swimming pool. House had all the extra's from cooking at home and doing laundry to BBQ outside. It was very accessible to all parts of the city. Close to airport too!! I would recommend this house to anyone.
