Why Lance Peto chose Deer Valley Resort
Deer Valley is the premier ski resort in the United States, home of the 2002 Olympics. My home is located in lower Deer Valley, adjacent to the headquarters for Deer Valley, the Deer Valley Plaza, with a year round restaurant run by the famous Deer Valley food service. My home is located in the Fawn Grove Condo Complex and I completely gutted & remodeled it 3 years ago with granite counter tops, Carrera marble baths, all new electrical, hardwood floors, new carpet in bedrooms, new deck & spa, new stone fireplace and furnished it with top of the line furnishings. I selected this condo because it was a single story, 2,300 sq. ft. unit that could accommodate our extended family. All of the bedrooms are massive, with 2 master suites - one with a king bed and the other master with 2 queen beds. Each are en suite. The third bedrooms also has a king bed and is directly accessible to the lovely guest bathroom, which acts also as a powder room as a full bath. The fourth bedroom has a sleeper sofa and is off the entry and serves as a den/TV room/children's get away room. The living room and both master bedrooms have 15 ft. tall vaulted ceilings, which further creates a spacious feeling. I added a deck and spa overlooking the pond and beautiful mountains in the distance. Our complex is park of the Deer Valley Association, which offers free shuttle service to the base of the mountain in the winter time. We're also located directly on the City bus route, which can take snow boarders to Park city mountain. Old Town Park City is a mere 3/4 mile drive or a 15 minute walk.

Very nice condo, poor property management
The condo is in a really nice neighborhood, quarter mile from Deer Valley resort. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen are all very nice and well appointed. Based on that, it would be 5 stars. That said, the owner has a property manager for the unit that is doing a very poor job. When we first arrived to check into the unit, the front door keycode did not work. Luckily we were able to reach the owner just before he was boarding plan, who was able to reach the property manager, and it turns out the property manager had changed the door code without informing the owner. Next, though all the linens were clean, there was food residue all over the kitchen counter and the unit was very dusty. Since we were staying for the entire summer, we just hired a house cleaning service and payed ourselves. But for someone staying for a shorter visit, this would add to the cost. The unit includes a hot tub on the deck, however when we opened it smelled really bad. We contacted the owner, who told us to contact the property manager. We tried to contact the property manager, but got no response. The unit is listed as having a designated parking spot. However there was a broken down truck parked in our spot covered in dust for our entire stay. Lastly, apparently the owner had asked the property manager to measure the windows several weeks before our arrival. However, the property manager waited to come into the unit UNANNOUNCED during our stay. He and a friend let themselves into the first door of the unit, but fortunately knocked first on the second door. Luckily my wife was able to hear the knocking, otherwise two strange men would have been walking into our bedrooms while my family was in bed.
I appreciate that you would have given us a 5 star rating if it had not been for a couple of minor management issues. As our VRBO listing indicated, we own & manage it ourselves as our HOME, not a hotel operation with onsite staff.
The company we use as a cleaning service for the turnover & jacuzzi is in fact the contractor who gutted & remodeled the condominium over 5 years ago. His familiarity with our home as well as his local residence allows the best response for our situation living in San Diego.
I apologize that the unit was dusty & the counter had food residue on it. My last guest stayed from May 11 until June 10th & you were scheduled to arrive on June 20th. Your original reservation was from June 20th until Sept 30th. You altered your reservation & arrived much later & left on Sept 7th and I recall reimbursing you over a thousand dollars as an indication of good faith. You gave me no credit for giving you a refund for almost a month on a rental commitment contracted through VRBO where it is explicitly spelled that NO REFUNDS FOR CANCELLATIONS AFTER 1 MONTH PRIOR TO BOOKED STAY.
Apparently your late arrival allowed dust to accumulate, which is common in mountain resorts.
The front door lock & unannounced arrival of the window contractor was due to a lack of communication on my part. As your review indicated, my wife & I were catching flights to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm & eventually Moscow at the same time as your stay at our home. Not only was the time difference difficult, but we had lapses in internet service during our extensive 3 week trip.
With regard to the parking space, the Ford Expedition is MY car & parked in my space against the door to my storage locker to prevent theft. I notified you prior to yo arrival to park in any one of the 8 guest parking spaces which are always vacant..once again I apologize.
Super nice, close to the mountain, no need for a car. We took the shuttle everyday. Great vacation
Fabulous! Rustic ski lodge feel
We stayed over spring break 2016 and found the home to be just as described. It was extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished with everything one could possibly want, including two different types of coffee makers. Location of the home is amazing with great access to shuttle to ski lodge and buses to Park City and surrounding area. The owner is straight-forward and easy to reach, if needed. Overall, our experience was absolutely wonderful in every way.
Wonderful for our Ladies Ski Week
We rented this property for our annual ladies ski week. This well-appointed unit is so convenient to Deer Valley via private shuttle...and to the rest of Park City via the town bus service with the stop at the end of the driveway. There is certainly no need for a car as the location is just perfect. The unit is very comfortable and accommodates a group of friends or a family. The owner was responsive to my questions prior to arrival.
If you're looking for a great place to stay for your visit to Deer Valley/Park City, this unit is highly recommended,
Girl's 70th Birthday Getaway!!
The condo was amazing - from the minute you walk into the unit, it is luxuriously decorated, comfortable floor plan for visiting i the large living room, comfortable beds, great kitchen for small cooking, jacuzzi for tired bones, & the best pat is the location, where the Deer Valley bus picks you up outside your door and you're at Snow Park base of the mountain in 5 minutes. At the end of the day of skiing, you can leave your skis in the free storage at Snow Park and watch the bus home - ski & pole free! there was am amazing Deer Valley chef restaurant right next door and we were 1 mile walk to the heart of Park City for meals an shopping. I highly recommend this amazing place with 2 huge asters, another king bedroom & a lovely red bedroom away from everyone else. That you for a wonderful stay.
My wife, our two adult children, and their new spouses rented this unit for a week of skiing between Christmas and New Years... Needless to say, I was pleased when my Daughter and Daughter-in-Law declared this condo to be "EXCELLENT"!
Specifically, the unit is:
- Very well appointed (classy.. lots of marble, hardwoods, etc...)
- In great condition (remodeled in the past few years) with nothing broken or worn looking
- Well laid out (great room seats many, kitchen is very functional)
- Spacious (3 full bedrooms with a 4th room containing a foldout couch.. All private and separate from great room)
- Extremely well stocked (paper goods, kitchen supplies, laundry supplies, etc...)... I felt like I was staying in a friend's private home!! (I don't know the owner)
- Kitchenware, towels, etc... are all fully stocked and in great shape
- Has all the needed "optional" appliances... (3 humidifiers - lifesavers!, hairdryers, boot dryers, etc...)
- Good Hot Tub on the deck
- The unit was fairly priced (compared to other Deer Valley units that I researched)!!!!!
- The owner was very responsive in answering questions, etc...

We are located in Lower Deer Valley within 1/4 mile of the base of the mountain, Snow Park. Old town Park City is within walking distance with fabulous restaurants, shops & all the Charm of the old West. Deer Valley offers free shuttle service to the mountain during the winter or we are located on the bus loop which can take you anywhere in the Park City area.
Major resorts such as the St Regis, Montage & Stein Erickson lodge are all within a short drive for anyone not interested in skiing.
During the summer the Deer Valley hosts free concerts and along with world class fishing , golf, hiking & bike trails.
