This enchanting spot is one block from Forsyth Park, and a few blocks from Forsyth Mansion. It's perfect for any venue in town and you can park your car in our off street parking lot and walk to any location in the Victorian or Historic District.
This second floor apartment is furnished with Family Antiques that have been chosen with exceptional discrimination over the past 30 years and were originally housed in a property that was located on a street named 'Bancroft Rd', hence we named this apartment for the location where the furnishings resided for many years. Much of the art is original and has been presented in shows in the U.S. and Abroad.
Our property, built in 1886 is embellished with 12 ft ceilings, original heart pine floors and Victorian architectural details at every turn. It provides 3 Bedrooms, a Living Room/Dining Area, Eat in Kitchen with Marble Table, Porch, Two Baths, and a separate Den with Sleeper Sofa. There is a 500 Square Foot Court Yard, and Off street parking for three cars as well.
You can walk anywhere downtown; we do every weekend. From the Restaurants on the squares, to the fireworks on River St, to a must-have ice cream cone from Famous Leopold's Ice Cream on Broughton Street, the city is literally on your doorstep.
You'll be drawn to the Infamous Fountain in Forsyth Park, steps away from the apartment. Right around the corner is the best coffee house in town, the City's beloved Sentient Bean, and Historic Brighter Day, known for their freshly made organic deli and smoothies. There's nothing you can't find there when it comes to healthy eating. And you might see somebody famous at 'Local 11Ten', which is practically our next door neighbor. From their rooftop lounge to their high quality ingredients and unique preparation, it's one of Savannah's most talked about trendy restaurants.
The maximum occupancy for overnight guest is 7.
The Living Room has a Full Size Couch, Two Armchairs, a Dining Table that seats 4-10 (2 Leaves available), 4 Dining Room Chairs and a Leather Top Executive Desk with Leather Chair, Antique Cabinet and 32 Inch Flat Screen TV. French Glass Doors lead to the porch with a feeling of being coddled in the trees and a view of the other Victorian Style homes on the Street.
The Porch is draped on the front side in white, and provides wrought iron furniture thickly cushioned for lounging.
The Master Bedroom has a Queen Size Mattress, Bureau, Seating area, Small Desk and a 32 inch TV. The Master Bath has a Pedestal Sink and tub/shower.
The Yellow Bedroom (called this as the furniture is antique yellow) has a Queen Size Mattress, Bureau, nightstand and vanity table.
The Mahogany Bedroom located off the living room has a Full Size Mattress, Bureau, nightstand, and wood/brass wall mounted cloths rack for hanging clothes in lieu of a closet.
The Main Bath has a Ceramic Tiled Shower and Floor, and houses a Full Size Washer/Dryer.
The Den has a Sofa/Queen Sleeper Sofa, so can be used as a separate bed when singles are renting. This room has a Shelving Unit filled with interesting books, and an Asian Chest. Your TV here is a 40 inch HD with DVD Player. The Den also provides access via a Spiral Staircase to the Private Courtyard where Wrought Iron Furniture awaits you for dining or relaxing. A Gas Grill is available as well. The courtyard leads to the off-street parking area in the rear of the house.

After many years of frequent trips to Savannah, we left Philadelphia in 2012 to live in our dream home and experience Savannah full-time. 'We weren't born here, but we got here as soon as we could!' Since we live on the property in this great house, and have so many wonderful experiences living here, we wanted to share our home with others and help to make your Savannah Experience the best ever. We turned our second Floor Apartment into this Inviting Vacation Rental, and we look forward to meeting our interesting travelers.

We chose this property because of its proximity to our beloved Forsyth Park. We try to take part in as many venues there as we can, from Music to Art to Athletics. The home needed extensive refurbishing, but we recognized its potential and good bones. After 4 1/2 years, and a lot of hard work we've been able to provide a unique, spacious and comfortable luxury apartment that offers many amenities that are difficult to find all in one home.
What makes this Apartment unique
We just recently learned that our home was originally owned by an elite member of Savannah Society. We can't wait to research further. Since we live on the first floor, we hope our guest will feel confident that we are there to help make their experience the most enjoyable ever.

I absolutely loved the property!
The Bancroft on Duffy is lovely! This was our first visit to Savannah and we were so happy we picked this property. Located only a block away from Forsyth Park. Looking forward to going back and staying again at The Bancroft. The owners of the property were very nice and downstairs if we needed anything 😊
We were in Savannah for a race over the weekend and the Bancroft was WONDERFUL! It had every amenity we could need and slept 5 of us very comfortably. The communication with the owners was perfect and very timely. The house was immaculate and nicely appointed. It was within walking distance to the park and a few cute restaurants. Could not have had a more pleasant experience! Looking forward to returning!
Very clean, beautifully decorated, friendly hosts. It is located a block from Forsyth Park. We were a bit concerned about where we would find ourselves but we felt safe and it was a block from a tour bus stop and a good coffee house. We spent time out on the lovely porch and in the courtyard to absorb the local atmosphere. We each had our own bedroom, which was nice for four women traveling together. Just be aware of the many stairs, quite steep.
Yes, every rose has a thorn. The beautiful 13 ft ceilings in Victorians from the 1800's consequently have about 20 steps to the second floor. I was happy to be there when you arrived at 10PM to assist you in carrying up your luggage, and also having the Sofa Bed made up and ready for the weary traveler in your group as you had requested earlier in the day. As mentioned in correspondence, the highly desirable Forsyth Park area is a safe family neighborhood. The Park holds the city's largest and busiest playground, a magnificent Amphitheater, and Iconic Fountain. All steps away from our front door. So glad you enjoyed your stay.
We had a great time. 7 adults, plenty of room and even though it’s an upstairs apartment and owners are below, they kept to themselves.

Beautiful home in a great location. Had everything we needed and then some. Only a couple blocks to Forsythe Park and Historic District. Great neighborhood with variety of restaurants. My family truly enjoyed our stay! Recommend this home for anyone traveling to Savannah.
Comfy and relaxed
Excellent recent stay at The Bancroft - the home was spacious, tastefully decorated, and extremely convenient for everything we wanted to see and do on a recent visit to Savannah. The kitchen was well stocked with every type of appliance and dishwater one could need, the bathrooms were clean and provided with soap, and the outdoor porch was lovely for drinks and chats. Took us a bit to figure out the DVD player was actually a part of the flat screen TV but once we figured it out, it was easy to use to watch a flick.
The location near the corner of Forseyth Park was super convenient and we could easily catch the free tourist bus to get to the waterfront if we opted not to stroll. Parking for our rental car was easy and our hosts were great! So welcoming and inviting to their city. Highly recommend if you a group of 2-3 couples or a bunch of friends who want to escape for a holiday.
The Bancroft on Duffy Street is ideal to access all venues at locations downtown and including Forsyth Park, The Forsyth Mansion, Historic District and Downtown River Street. Located one block from Forsyth Park, it is located at the Rock and Roll Marathon Finish Line! Jazz Festival, Local Restaurants, Tours, Historic Museums, Shopping, all within walking distance even though Pedi-cabs (bicycle driven cabs) are available to pick you up or take you home from wherever you are.
