Overview

About the property

Our Nature's Haven is an attractive eco-compact house sitting on a lush property in Ste-Brigitte-de-Laval, a sought-after small town just minutes from the limits of beautiful Québec City.

THE NATURAL SITE

This contemporary house boasts views as well as direct access to a free flowing river with crystal clear water where you can swim or fly fish for small native brook trout or simply enjoy family time, right at your doorstep.

You'll enjoy your private nature footpath and stream, landscaped lawn and river views. Although secluded and private, the home is not isolated and sits within an 8-minute ride to town for your daily needs and shopping (supermarket, drugstore, gas station, wine & liquor store, family restaurant, etc.).

THE HOUSE

The house’s striking modern design in such a serene setting offers modern amenities and wonderful indoor-outdoor flow. The three bedrooms on the second floor offer sleeping arrangements for a maximum of 6 persons (4 adults and 2 children_under 12 years old) and give access to a bathroom equipped with in-floor heating. The bathroom on the first floor features a walk-in ceramic shower and also in-floor heating. Airy and inviting, the kitchen has modern amenities.

Step out onto the screened porch only feet from the river or lounge on the upper deck overlooking the property.

THE ACTIVITIES

There are plenty of attractions and activities nearby to keep you busy for days. Just minutes away sits Québec, one of the most beautiful cities in the world named as one of the World Heritage sites from UNESCO. There are museums, the Château Frontenac, gourmet restaurants galore and a thriving cultural scene.

As a general travel footnote, the New York Times has named Canada its top travel destination for 2017. Canada was also named Best Travel Destination In 2017 by Lonely Planet.

Among a score of activities this summer in the city, the Festival d'Été de Québec (300 shows, 10 stages, 11 days of music) will be held from July 6th to the 16th.

The Tall Ships Festival will take place July 18th to the 23rd and is the crown jewel of the Rendez-vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta with the arrival of the international fleet into Québec City up the St Lawrence River, a sight to see.

Right here in Sainte-Brigitte sits a beautiful 18-hole golf course The Alpine Golf and Country club. Another golf course, The Mont-Tourbillon, in Lac Beauport is 15 minutes away. Also, Sainte-Brigitte offers several playgrounds with swings and outdoor amenities for kids. Local hiking trails are also nearby.

The Indian Reserve Huron Wendat as well as the Montmorency Falls, Ile d’Orléans and Parc National de la Jacques-Cartier are close and are certainly worth a visit.

Nature's Haven is seasonally available from June 1st to September 30th each year.

this was a beautiful house in St. Brigitte du Val

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week in Nature's Haven. The house is gorgeous with great attention to details that made it delightful. Loved looking out over the river from the dining room table. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked meals there every night. We didn't even mind the day we had to spend inside due to the rain. There are hiking trails in the area, but the Jacques Cartier Park (about 50 min. away) should not be missed. It is about 30-40 min. to Quebec City, where we also spent a day. Our hosts were very attentive and obviously very proud of their house, and we felt lucky that they shared it with us. (Family of 4--two old adults over 75 and their daughter and son-in-law.)

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here on our summer vacation with our two kids (ages 6 & 9). We had a great stay. Murielle and Jean welcomed us in as if we were family. They took time to show us around the property and house. Everything was as shown in the pictures, maybe even better. The pride and care they take in their house was obvious. The kitchen was well stocked with excellent utensils and cookery. The beds were comfortable and the sound of the stream at night was wonderful. We enjoyed spending time around the property, fishing in the brook and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. We would highly recommend the house to anyone looking for a place in the country outside Quebec City.

Peaceful vacation

  • 5 of 5

Murielle and Jean were wonderful. They met us and showed us around and made sure everything was clean and ready. They also installed a guard on the top bunk just for our daughter because I was worried about her falling out of bed, which was incredibly thoughtful. The house is beautiful, located right next to a river that you can hear in every room. Every window has a different and spectacular view. There is excellent hiking nearby and several parks for children to play. It was an excellent trip!

Absolutley incredible!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have stayed in numerous rental properties in the US and Europe and this one, by far, was the best! Every detail exceeded our expectations. The hosts were more than accommodating and ensured that their home had everything we needed. They made us feel instantly welcome with a very detailed walk around the property. The house itself is hand-crafted, modern, warm, inviting, spotless and spacious- we never wanted to leave! The yard is breathtaking and honestly can't be beat. The river runs right next to the property and we loved sitting on the patio and upper deck, drinking our morning coffee (or evening wine!) and listening to the water go by. My husband highly enjoyed being able to walk out the back door and fly fish from the property. We left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated- priceless!

The house is a short distance from so many different attractions. During our week long stay, our favorite activities were visiting Old Town, Parc national de la Jaques-Cartier, Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, Canyon Sainte-Anne and Aquarium du Quebec. In the city I highly recommend Rue Sainte-Jean...we spent hours visiting the shops, local parks and historic library.

Overall, you can't go wrong renting this home.....you'll most likely find yourself looking at local real estate like we did:)

The perfect home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We been renting cottages for many years in different areas and this is by far the nicest one. We appreciated the location that gave us the opportunity to do many activities in the region. The cottage is extremely convenient in many aspects. It is clean, relaxing, modern, sunny and it is especially pleasant to see and hear the river no matter which room your in. For us cooking is very important and this cottage deliver just that. It has a functional and modern kitchen with all the necessary amenities. Also, there are many location outside to enjoy little moments at any time during the day. To savor your coffee / tea in the morning there is a lovely balcony on the top floor or a veranda just off the kitchen. In regards in taking your 5@7 with a glass of wine, one in particular is the ultimate location! A small path leads you to an area close to the river where sounds and smells make you forget about your daily hustle & bustle.

Let' not forget about the extremely down to earth and charming hosts. We connected on many levels.Their positive energy was felt throughout the cottage. The architecture reflects their personality in many ways; simple, pure and inviting.

We are recommending this cottage to any one that wants to relax, absorb the sounds of the nature and reconnect with life. The moment spent there gave us a different perspective on things! For sure we will repeat the experience!
