Great

  • 5 of 5

We came to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful weekend with our children and grandchildren. The home was beautiful and extremely spacious for 16 people . We would not hesitate to come again. And Heather thank you for making this a great experience.

Great house for large groups!

  • 4 of 5

We had a large group and everyone was comfortable and not cramped. The game room was great for keeping kids (and adults) entertained but most importantly, downstairs and out of our hair. The deck and hot tub were great and downtown is just short walk away. The music system was popular too! The kitchen gets a little cramped with a lot of cooks and the house could really use a second refrigerator somewhere (there is plenty of space downstairs and in the garage). We maxed out the fridge pretty quickly. Overall, great and convenient and we will definitely come back again.

Perfect for our 50th anniversary celebration

  • 5 of 5

This home was everything we had hoped for. We were there celebrating our 50th anniversary and had a group of 18 including 2 babies. We found the property to be very clean and did not ever have a reason to contact management. We are a family of cooks, and it did get a bit crowded when 4 gals were trying to cook at the same time, but somehow this only added to the fun. Everything we needed to cook was readily available - great selection of spices. The game room was great for the variety of ages we had. The little boys, big boys, teenage gals, and older gals all had fun with family pool tournaments. With all the different rooms there was always a card game going too. At the same time for those who needed some alone time it was easy to find a quiet corner. The deck was probably the most favorite hangout at the end of each day and for meals. Being covered, even when we had one slightly cool day with sweatshirts and jeans, it was still very pleasant. Everyone was pleased to have bedroom privacy and the 5 bathrooms worked out very well also. Walking to town was so easy - walking back up the hill was a bit more of a workout but still not too big of a challenge. During the 5 days we were there, our family took advantage of a train trip leaving from Silver Plume (short drive) , the mine tour, and the local gondola rides. This home just worked beautifully for our family and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Perfect, amazing, so comfortable for large families.

  • 5 of 5

I booked this home, because there were 17 of us celebrating my parents' 50th anniversary and for the few need-my-time-alone introverts to enjoy the trip with the extroverts who greatly outnumbered them, we'd need some space, especially because 12 of us are ages 1-13.

Upstairs in this house, there's a massive master bedroom/bath, a Queen-bed room with attached private bath, and a jack-and-jill bath attached to a king-bed room and a twin-beds room. There is one bedroom on the ground level with the full guest bath just outside of it; the kitchen is huge; there's a large back porch, with many places to sit and hang out, and a large living room, ditto; and a large dining room table. Downstairs there are two bedrooms with bunks and beds in each of them, as well as a media room/pool table room with a huge TV. No need to worry about a crib or pack-n-play or children's movies to pop in because it's all there. Spices-all there; look for the hidden drawer next to the oven. Salad spinner, mixmaster for baking, pots & pans, kitchen knives set, etc. - all there at the house. Great details to enhance your trip in each of the rooms that I can't even list here; too many. Two grocery stores within a 5-minute drive. Easy trolley will take you down into/back up the hill from town; you could spend all day there shopping- there's a lot. Or just walk down & back, about 10 min each way.

During the course of our 4-night stay, family members would pull me aside and say how "perfect" the house was, how much they "absolutely love"d it! They're right; it was an amazing place to stay - we had such a fabulous time together, all of us, and a large part of that was the house. Well worth the cost. It was an unforgettable trip.

Now a bit about the town:

Best two T-shirt places to hit in order to see what's in all the T-shirt shops with only 2 stops, 2 stores apart: Shirt Off My Back, and Mountain Tees.

Best summer sale on winter clothing (and such nice people!): The Mountain Goat Clothing Co.

Great crepes place with lots of tasty choices, but always long lines: Crepes A La Cart.

Best place to take a mountain-background family photo, and/or feed chipmunks directly from your hand: Sapphire Point Overlook. Bring non-salted nuts and seeds, without shells. They are spoiled little chipmunks.

All that and then some!

  • 4 of 5

This house was perfect! 4+ stars

We had 15 adults (4 couples, 7 singles) all come together for a long weekend in Mid December. The Mountain Sky Lodge was perfect, everyone was able to have a bedroom and 3 of the single ladies shared a room with the bunks. The house was clean and ready for our arrival! All we had to do was stock the fridge and roll in the coolers. The house was spacious, and never did it feel like anyone was in each others way. With a house that large everyone had anticipated that it would be chilly, however the radiant floor heating kept the temperature toasty and warm. Pack your t-shirts! The house was only a 10-15 min walk to town and even the walk up hill was not that big of a deal. The shuttle was a great alternative and enabled us to interact with some of the local skiers.

Working with the Sky Run property management company was great they were responsive and available for any questions we had. Of course Heather was also very helpful and responsive.

The only things I would recommend is that is you have chef's in your group who are particular about the knives they use for cooking, they might want to bring their own. The knives at the house are standard run of the mill knives you would expect to see in a rental house. The kitchen is WELL stocked with many tools and devices (micro plain grater, hand mixer, lettuce spinner, veggie choppers, garlic press, etc.). And the pantry has as many spices as you could ever need! The dining room table fit all 15 of us with the use of the extra 4 chairs from the kitchen and the desk chair from the office. You might be able to squeeze in one more person but the fit was really tight.

If I were to host another party like this again I would absolutely consider staying here!
