Beautiful weekend get away!

  • 4 of 5

Cabin is lovely! Very well laid out for big family with areas to hang together and areas to have different activities. Kitchen/bath have everything you need. Loved the fireplace! beautiful view, especially sunrise from the loft! It was winter so swimming not an option, but you couldn't access the water at all, cliff is too high. So just plan to go to a public access if you want to swim.

Lots to do nearby. we enjoyed some great day hikes!

One small suggestion- more seating in the main area...we had 6 adults and only could ever seat 4 around the fireplace.

We would all definitely come back! Owner was great to work with! Flawless experience.

A Beautiful Home with a Beautiful View!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin so, so much. Even with our entire trip having below-zero temps, we filled our days making fires in the fireplace, enjoying the sauna, playing games and hiking at Tettegouche. In the evenings, the kids would watch movies while we made dinner in the spacious and well stocked kitchen. I would love to visit again in the summer and make use of the fire pit, basketball hoop and large deck. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

Relaxing and restoring

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is lovely. I especially liked the big windows, letting in light and showing the magnificent views of Lake Superior. The kitchen was well stocked and provided everything we needed. It was especially beautiful to wake up in the morning in the loft and look out onto Lake Superior. On a snowy day, the drive was plowed and sanded before we left. There was no problem driving in or driving out. The lower level was especially warm and holds the heat so be careful not to turn the thermostat up too high. We would like to return next year.

New Year's on North Shore

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Highbrow cabin with 4 adults and 4 children over New Year's. The weather was -20 to -40 with the windchill so we ended up spending a lot of time in the cabin. Even with eight of us in the cabin for 4 days it was not crowded at all. The views were fantastic and the wood burning fire place was keeping us all warm. The kitchen was first rate and had all cooking supplies etc.......it had everything your home kitchen would have. Can't wait to come back in the summer and experience this amazing cabin!

The property was as described and pictured. Lots of room for 6 adults and two toddlers.

  • 5 of 5

We really appreciated having the sauna, foosball table, games and videos, and all the household items such as toilet paper and toweling, dish soap, laundry soap, spices, etc. We all had a wonderful stay! The only thing we wish could be fixed was the deck railing that had too much open space for such a high cliff and deck.

Lake Superior Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time to the cabin on Lake Superior. The view is wonderful and the area is full of opportunities for hiking and recreation. It is only an hour south of Grand Marais which is always a fun town to explore. We all love to cook and the kitchen is fully stocked with the pots, pans, and equipment needed. Beds are comfy. TV, videos, games, and music are available too.

The Highbrow Cabin on the cliff is situated on three acres of beautiful North Shore woods, with 235 feet of breath taking shoreline.

The huge logs that make up the structure provide a cozy cabin feel, but the home is luxurious! Enjoy amazing views of the sun rising over the lake through the floor to ceiling windows; warm up after a day in the woods around the wood burning stove; or take a steam in the newly constructed Sauna! Watch bald eagles soar from the beautiful large deck that overlook Lake Superior and makes you feel as if you’re on top of the world.

The Highbrow Cabin is large enough for most groups, but cozy enough for you and your honey. It has a majestic loft overlooking Lake Superior with a king size bed. On the first floor is another spacious bedroom with two full beds that can be joined to make a king. Downstairs is the third bedroom with another two full beds that can be made into a king. Finally, the great room has a comfy futon that can be pulled into another bed. It sleeps six to eight total. The Highbrow Cabin has two and a half nice, clean bathrooms.

The Highbrow Cabin is perfect for the foodie in your group, as it offers a Viking stove and all the best knives and cookware one could need. For your rainy days or quiet nights enjoy the rec room outfitted with a 52 inch HDTV, DVD library, foosball table, dart board, board game library, and record player.

Other amenities include a propane lit charcoal grill, cozy fire pit with lovely chairs – perfect for making smores and watching the stars, a three season porch with an electric start stove, a basketball hoop and bean bag toss game, and a paved driveway for easy winter access.

The Highbrow Cabin is located just 3.5 miles from the entrance to Tettegouche State Park, a gem of the North Shore with extensive hiking trails! It is conveniently close to Silver Bay where guests will find a grocery store, liquor store, DVD rentals, and restaurants. Just 3.5 hours from the Twin Cities, or 1 hour from Duluth, The Highbrow Cabin is a half hour away from Lutsen Mountain and Superior National Golf Course.
