After entering through the front courtyard you emerge into the Great Room, an airy, open space perfect for sitting by the fireplace, napping in the day bed, or practicing yoga. A built in desk area is ideal for catching up on business-- WiFi included. The open and fully equipped kitchen includes a breakfast counter, as well as a cosy dinning nook. We just upgraded with a new LG mini split Air Conditioner in case our 60 degree nights aren't cool enough!
The bedroom has an expansive view of the wilderness, a walk in closet, and a brand new mattress. It, too, is elegantly decorated with contemporary art work and custom tile, as are the bathroom and shower.
The day bed in the great room serves as an extra sleeping area for one adult or 2 children. Pets are welcome- as long as they stay off the furniture and are not left unattended during short stays. We ask an additional fee per person/animal after the initial two guests.
The sun floods in through the glass patio doors in winter, and in summer a cool breeze will flow in through open doors. Private patios front and back with views of the National Forest to the north, and all the way to Mexico in the south. The roof is a solar array and the floor is heated for maximum comfort.
A Power House is an exciting collaboration between myself, Zoe Wolfe (artist) and my husband, Steven Shelendich (architect). Our daughter was also involved in the project, helping Steven with the construction and solar panel installation. We look forward to sharing this special place with you!
' A Power House is a lovely casita with all the amenities. We felt so at home -out in the wilderness, but so close to town.' - a guest
