About Laurel

I've lived in Marblehead all my life. I enjoy traveling and seeing all that the world has to offer. I love to cook fresh, natural and local foods. I also enjoy boating, skiing and entertaining with friends and family.

Laurel purchased this house in 1977

Why Laurel chose North of Boston & Greater Merrimack Valley

Marblehead is comprised of many summer cottages. This property is our family home, which was originally purchased by my grandparents. This home is both cozy and charming. It represents all of what this wonderful town is all about.

What makes this house unique

located off a main road in Marblehead. Sunny home with great front porch to watch the sunset or walk down the street to Salem Harbor. Friendly neighborhood!

Wonderful house and a great location

  • 5 of 5

As many people often say the photographs don't do this home justice. It's a wonderful home to stay in and the front porch is just the loveliest place to have breakfast and the evening sunsets are breathtaking. The information supplied by Laurel was more than helpful and arrival was very easy. I would certainly book again in the future.

Very Cute, and great location close to the water!

  • 4 of 5

Laurel's home is a really cute cottage close to the water. You can see the Salem harbor with sail boats from the front porch. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and other necessities. The furniture was comfortable and cozy. Lots of clean towels and pillows, and the master bed was very comfortable as well.

On the con side. We got to the house late and it was very dark and difficult to find light switches. Also, the second bedroom's air conditioner did not have the correct adapter to be plugged into the wall. However, Laurel was on the phone with me and helped me locate one, so we could use the AC.

We thoroughly enjoyed the home, it was like being at our own place, thank you!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Amita. I am happy you had a lovely trip to Marblehead and enjoyed the house. What happened to the adapter that was on the ac plug is still a mystery! Glad I was able to assist in directing you to one in the house. Thank you for the point about arriving at night and having lights on. The upstairs is still a bit cottage like with bedroom lamps. The hallway and bathroom light switches are updated and should offer enough light to find your way to the bedrooms. I will put some brighter light bulbs in the lamps, that should help. Enjoy the rest of the summer! Thank you again, you and your family were a delight to work with.

Beautiful home and amazing view of the water.

  • 5 of 5

The house was charming and cozy! It was everything we had hoped for in a vacation home. I really loved the variety of books to read and the comfy bed in the master room. Every morning we had our coffee on the front porch and enjoyed the ocean view. The neighbors were all so nice and friendly! Whole foods was nearby and the running trails only a mile away. I would park my car near Tower school and jump on the running trails for my daily dose of exercise! Laurel was attentive and always made sure we had what we needed. We will definetly come back when we visit our family in Salem.

No Worries

  • 5 of 5

No Worries! This cozy home was comfortable and quiet. It is out of the way of the hustle and bustle but just close enough for restaurants and shopping. Our family stayed for almost a week in late January and other than the cold we felt right at home. The kitchen was well stocked for any kind of cooking, the beds were already made with clean linen, there was an abundance of towels and wash clothes but most of all our host, Laurel was a pleasure. She was flexible on our arrival time and seemed to always be on-call if we needed her. Due to no washer and dryer, she helped us acquire an inexpensive laundry service. Laurel – Thanks for a wonderful stay! If you will have us, we will be back.

Owner's Response: Thank you for you kind words Carson. You & your wife were a pleasure to work with! Thank you again for the gift of wine! Such a kind & thoughtful gesture! Winter in New England can be brrrr chilly but I'm glad mother nature gave us a little break during your stay! You are welcome back anytime! Best wishes! Sincerely, Laurel Perry

Cute clean home, great location, comfortable setting!

  • 5 of 5

We had a large group (5+) and we were lucky enough to find this great home to stay together in! The home is so cute! It's not big, but easily accommodates 5 people sleeping and has kitchen/dining seating for up to 8 comfortably. One bath room with a standing shower and seemingly endless hot water (yay!). Laurel, the home owner, was very kind and accommodating to us. She had many of the things in place that a hotel/motel would offer (wifi, cable, coffee, ect). We loved walking out the front door and feeling the ocean breeze. Down the street a couple houses is a rocky beach filled with snails and small crabs that the kids loved! We even had a front row seat to the Halloween fireworks across the bay in Salem right from the front porch! It was a wonderful stay! Clean, comfortable, and we'd stay again! Thank you Laurel!!
