This guest cabin was built for our family in 1980, we occupied it before building the main family lodge. It was built by Bill Hedge and his son Bob, two native craftsmen.
Owner/Manager purchased this Lodge in 1980
Why Owner/Manager chose Polk County
The owner was raised on these properties, in the small house to the east of the vacation cabin. Her personal home is on the lower adjoining property and was built in 1980-81. She moved out of the cabin and into the lodge during March of 1982.
What makes this Lodge unique
This is solid log construction! The logs were purchased from Arkansas Log Houses in Mena.

Such a refreshing and charming little cabin!
This was such an amazing little spot for us three couples, collectively our three kids and the two pups we all brought to really connect and unwind at the same time!
It has been such a blessing to be able to stay here and to venture out hiking in the surrounding lays of the land. I searched high and low for something that would accommodate a good sized group with pets, while also being affordable. And this for sure met those requirements and blew us out of the water with how well suited it was to our needs. The cabin is charming, with beautiful surrounding views and lots of space for pups to roam and play. And the fire pits out front came well stocked with plenty of well seasoned firewood for those late evening conversations that can only originate around a cabin camp fire....
Thank you so much!!!
This place was beautiful and amazing!! No complaints ❤️❤️
Nice country style cabin
Has a lot of room for plenty of people. Front and back yard are huge!
Very Nice and Quite Property
The property was very nice and relaxing. The cabin was great with plenty of bedrooms and beds. We thought everything was very clean. Although it is an old cabin but that is the beauty of it - a very solid old but updated cabin. Everything worked good - TV, A/C, kitchen, etc. The owner was very nice and not a bunch of rules. Just come and stay - treat it like you would your own and go home. We would definitely return!
Favorite place I have ever stayed at; in western Arkansas. Very peaceful, very spacious – over and above what I was expecting. Perfect location. The owner was so kind and stopped in to make sure everything was to our liking – awesome lady! Would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the Cossitot River /wicks Arkansas area.. so much better than any of the places I've found previously , and an amazing value. Thank you again, I will be back !
This was an awesoem house and great service

This enormous cabin is five miles from the Cossatot River and Cossatot River State Park and 15 miles from Gillham Lake. The Cossatot River offers the only Class 5 rapids for kayakers in the southern middle of the United States. Cossatot River State Park offers camping, fishing, swimming, and hiking. The Army Corps of Engineers put a dam on the Cossatot River and the lake that was formed is Gillham Lake which is near Gillham, Arkansas which is south of Wickes 12 miles. This lake area offers fishing, skiing, camping, and RV sites. Although hunting is a big thing in this area, it is mostly done on Weyerhaeuser land which is leased. Hunting is available on Ouachita National Forest land and information can be obtained from forestry offices in Mena. Horseback riding is available from local folk who live on land that joins the river. ATV's are allowed on state park roads and information is available from park headquarters on Highway 278 about five miles from Cossatot Lynch House. As the crow flies, the cabin is about 10 miles from Oklahoma. However, because of Beaver's Bend State Park and lake, Ouachita National Forest land and Weyerhaeuser land, a trip to Oklahoma for shopping and events ranges from 17 miles to around 50 miles. There are events of all kinds in this area beginning in May through Labor Day for all ages, capabilities and preferences. County fairs and rodeos range from August to early September.
