Relax to the sound of falling water from your front deck and enjoy the mountain views from your rear deck when you stay at Pinseeker's Retreat on Eagle Gap. Enjoy all that the Smokies and the quaint town of Waynesville has to offer-hiking, leaf looking, shopping, skiing and yes, GOLF. Our retreat sits a quarter mile from the driving range, pool, clubhouse and first tee at Laurel Ridge Country Club in a beautiful, private wooded setting with falling water surrounded by huge rhododendrons, deciduous and evergreen trees. Your stay will include guest privileges (fees charged at guest rates) to the country club where you can enjoy tennis, golf and the pool; you can also eat at the dining room or order in from the Rosemary and Thyme catering menu.
The retreat, which is separately connected to our larger home, is geared toward couples but has privacy for four. It has its own two separate entrances, master bedroom with king bed and satellite television, a bedroom with a murphy bed, a small kitchen complete with laundry machines, a sitting room which overlooks the mountains (also with satellite tv,) two full bathrooms-one with a sunken Jacuzzi tub, and two private decks.
We have lived, owned a business, Blue Ridge Post and Beam, and been members at Laurel Ridge for twenty years.
We choose to live in Waynesville because the people are friendly, the town is charming, the setting in the mountains is spectacular and the close proximity to Asheville is a bonus.
We are centrally located in Western North Carolina-less than one hour from Asheville, from Cherokee, from Cataloochee Ski Area, approx. 11/2 hour from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge; we proudly claim easy access to all Smokey Mountain activities and attractions.
Our home is unique in that it is 4000 sq ft on one level; it's sprawling design with master quarter on one side and Pinseeker's Retreat on the other side separated by a large living quarter allows for privacy and seclusion. Our home's setting in one of the best in the Laurel Ridge community.
The pictures don't do this view justice. From the moment we arrived to the retreat we felt welcomed and all needs were met. We spent a day touring downtown Waynesville, which is minutes from the retreat. We also visited near by towns like Asheville and Hendersonville(a must see). The retreat is close to the highway so you have quick access to any neighboring town that is on your itenerary, but also secluded so you feel like you're on top of your very own mountain. We asked for restaurant suggestions and Ann was quick to give a complete list of every type of cuisine. One night, we rented movies and cuddled on the couch.
If you're looking for a spot near many towns, or a place to relax with a good cup of chai tea and take in some views, this is the perfect place for you!
We rented the cabin for our Honeymoon. It was perfect and beautiful and private. We had all the accommodations we needed and more. The view was gorgeous. The owners were very nice and made sure we knew they were available if needed but gave us all the privacy we needed. We definitely recommend this cabin, and would not hesitate to rent any of their cabins as they do a great job down to all the smallest detail.
Our stay was very comfortable and the house is situated to allow for privacy of their guests. It's very convenient to town, but yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet of the mountains. I would highly suggest this property to others for a getaway. Its more suited for a couple or maybe just one child. Overall a wonderful place to stay..
The view from this beautiful home was as promised-BIG and we'd like to add Gorgeous!! We couldn't of asked for a better show, sun up and sun down!
We enjoyed the deck with a cup of coffee each morning and a glass of wine each evening.
The accommodations were nicely furnished, well-maintained and very relaxing. Especially loved the double recliner after a long day of walking in charming Waynesville, and nearby towns of Maggie Valley and Silva. This was a great central location for our day tours and a quick jaunt to downtown Waynesville. Would definitely recommend the Big View to friends and family.
The only thing we'd add to the listing... there may be a furry, four legged, visitor wearing a pink collar. We enjoyed her visits immensely and wished we could have taken her home!
Thank you for a wonderful weekend!!!
We knew we were in for a relaxing weekend the moment we stepped out of our car! The long entrance with peaceful water garden and welcoming bear ushered us to our private entry and into our bungalow retreat. Comfortable bed, two luxurious bathrooms, kitchen with essentials, and then...the sitting room with the gorgeous private view of mountains! The porch was great for sitting and relaxing and even perfect for morning yoga. Quiet, beautiful, and everything we needed. Wonderful accommodations! Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with us. We hope to return.
