Note as with all the other homes in this area, our home is nestled in the smokey mountains surrounded by mountainous terrain and switchbacks. Lovely, quiet, and comfy

  • 5 of 5

The view is fantastic. Took our family of 4 here for a few days in June of 2017. The weather was perfect. We visited the Cherokee Indian reservation and the trip there was breathtaking. We saw waterfalls tucked into the mountains. We got out to see Lake Junalaska for swimming - for just $25 a family. The home does not have a pool or a hot tub. We did not opt for it, but for $650 for a family of 5 we could have purchased day passes to use the very nice resort close by.

We enjoyed the board games and various books throughout the home. The master bedroom was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We cooked in he kitchen and had all of the necessities. The Keurig was a site for sore eyes after our long trek to get here.

It was nice to be able to keep up with our laundry while away from home.

The driveway might be scary for some with sport cars, etc. but according to the pizza delivery guy our driveway was a piece of cake.

The owners were great communicators and the stay here was stress free.

Thank you!

We wouldn't stay here again

  • 2 of 5

The driveway is long, incredibly steep and in desparate need of repair. We ultimately needed to park at the top of the driveway and walk down because we didn't want to damage our car. The house itself is very nice with a great view. Unfortunately the outside furniture was limited, old, and filthy. The inside of the house is spacious and accommodated our family well.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Our property description clearly describes our driveway as being typical for a mountain cabin as a forewarning to anyone unfamiliar with these types of driveways. Our property is not at ground level. With that said, we do inform visitors who are not used to these types of driveways to simply park at the top of the drive and walk down to the front door. We recently replaced the outside deck furniture with the exception of the wood rocking chairs that while looks weathered, they are actually perfect for the deck and the motif we enjoy of a typical Smokey Mountain getaway. We do not place them inside and they remain always outdoors and therefore can accumulate dust from the exterior elements, snowfalls, and rainfalls. We thank you for the compliments about the interior of our home, we have tried to make it as comfortable for our visitors as we can. Thank you once again for your feedback.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your response. In our property description, we clearly tell potential renters that our home is typical for a Smokey Mountain cabin nestled in the mountains. It is not at ground level. We try to warn those not familiar with these types of homes, that they have driveways that are not similar to those on flat lands. Most of our renters have no issues driving up and down our driveway. And, we inform our guests that if they prefer not parking their car in the carport area, to park at the top of the driveway and walk to the front door. As for the pool, we clearly describe in our home description that the pool belongs to the country club and to check with the country club regarding the use of their facilities. Their facilities are NOT included in the prices quoted for the rental of our home. As for TVs, we provide 2 flat panel TVs that are connected to the internet providing ample programming from Netflix, Crackle, and many other programming services. We do not have cable or satellite but we find the streaming services provide ample entertainment plus we provide unlimited super high speed wireless internet to our guests at no additional charge so your family can use Smartphones, tablets, and laptops to stream movies and other content as you see fit no matter where you are in the home or on the porch. As this guest knows, the AC which failed during their stay, was repaired while they were at the home right after they reported the failure. As any homeowner knows, AC units, washer and dryers, garbage disposals, water heaters, and many other appliances can fail from time to time. That is why repair servicemen exist. The AC works fine, as does the heating system during the winter. We ask our guests to report immediately when checking in, anything they find which is not in working order. We are very responsive and we try to make sure all the appliances are in good working order prior to your arrival. As for our beds, we have never had any other guests complain about our beds. They are all relatively new mattresses and are very comfortable. However, we do understand that some people are very particular when it comes to mattresses. I would say that our mattresses are as good or better than those you will find in most 3 to 4 star hotels. Thank you once again for your feedback.

Beautiful View

We really enjoyed our stay at your home. The beautiful wrap around deck was one of our favorite places to hang out. This home was perfectly located for our needs during this trip. Thank you so much for allowing our large family (9 people) to stay in your home.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. We installed very high speed internet as back a year ago it was simply not available in the area, but finally the cable company ran the infrastructure to the home. Now we have great unlimited streaming.

Good location in Maggie Valley

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for extra space needed for a family reunion in Maggie Valley. Property is centrally located just off of Soco Rd at the Maggie Valley Country Club. Home is spacious, laid out well with plenty of room for a crowd (we only slept 5 adults but 8 or more could sleep here). The kitchen/dining area is ideal for cooking/feeding a crowd. Includes washer/dryer, internet access, and two flatscreen tvs hooked up to Direct TV Basic package.

Steep driveway is a challenge and typical of access in the Smokies. 2 Staircases inside may limit access to main level and bedrooms at top level.

We dined nearby at Frankies, where we've dined on several occassions since they opened 2+ years ago. Recommend

Maggie Valley CC still serving famous Prime Rib, but we did not visit this trip.

The owner was very helpful ironing out an online payment snafu and providing accurate directions/instructions.
