AREA DESCRIPTION: This central Florence apartment, is in via dell’Oriuolo where the clock for the Palace della Signoria was build, a short walk from the Duomo, Santa Croce and the Sant’Ambrogio churches. The Oblate library which is just in front of the building is worth a visit. There is a private secure parking in front of the building.

We stayed at this apartment for a weekend in October 2015. We had no problem getting into the apartment, we were met by Tommy and given basic instructions on how things worked. It is on the 3rd floor and the building does not have an elevator. Everything is as it appears in the pictures and is lovely. The futon sofa in the living room was a bit low to use comfortably as a sofa, as someone previously mentioned, but we weren't really staying in the apartment much so it didn't bother us. The bed was comfortable and we did not have any issues in the bathroom with shower draining. (We did not attempt to use the air conditioner so I cannot say whether it worked). Appliances that we used all worked well and the wifi was strong. There is a parking garage across the street if you need it (we didn't) and a well-stocked market just a few steps away. The street it is on can be a little loud in the evening when the bars get out, but the bedroom is toward the back of the apartment so it shouldn't be a problem unless you have the windows open.
A couple of things that we would note for the future: it would be helpful to have instructions on how to use the clothes washer (in any language!), as we had some difficulty but were eventually able to figure it out. There was no wine opener in the apartment nor were there any wine glasses, which seemed odd given that we were in Tuscany! Finally, it would be great to have paper towels in the kitchen to help with basic clean-up after cooking/eating.
All in all, we had a really nice stay in this perfectly-located, pretty well-appointed apartment. Maira was very easy to communicate with and responsive to emails, and Tommy was waiting for us when we arrived. Would recommend this apartment to other travelers and would definitely stay here again.
Nice location. Nice size of apartment. Shower draining is an issue. I was a solo traveler, and they provided two towels. One I used to sop up all the water overflow from the shower and the other I used to dry off. That's really the only downside to the entire place. Nice owners.
We absolutely loved this apartment. First, it is located steps from the Duomo and, in the other direction, a nice piazza with many restaurants and a wonderful gelato place. Secondly, the apartment itself is lovely. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor (3rd floor North American). The living room, dining room, kitchen combination is very large a large window overlooking the street. The living room has a futon sofa that probably works well for sleeping (we didn’t use it) but was too low to use as a sofa. The kitchen has a washer (which we did not use), a full four burner gas stove, and fridge. Our hosts had left croissants and coffee for us. The cupboards were stocked with condiments – oils, vinegars, salts, and with cleaning products and tea towels. The bedroom is at the back of the apartment making it very quiet. The sheets had been professionally washed and ironed and were lovely to sleep in. There is one closet with built in drawers. The bathroom was a good size with a fair size shower stall. The towels were soft and plush.
Other reviews have mentioned the broken air conditioner in the bedroom. It was still broken when we visited but as the weather was back to something normal it was not an issue for us.
I would stay at this apartment again and highly recommend it. The photos on VRBO are accurate. Booking was easy as was check-in and check-out.
The apartment is in an excellent location down the street from the Duomo. It is spacious, attractive, and clean. Also, there were plenty of luxurious thick white bath towels. I agree with another reviewer that the bedroom air conditioner did not work, and Florence was having a heat-wave during our stay. A few suggestions for the cleaning crew: provide toilet paper, hook up the tv properly, and provide instructions in English on how to operate the washing machine. Please see to it that the shower drain is cleared as the shower basin filled with water ankle-deep.
We offer these few correctable items as helpful suggestions. We would be happy to stay at the apartment again!
We stayed 2 nights at this apartment in Florence and the location is excellent. We had some problems getting to the apartment but that is our own problem. New York City is a breeze compared to the streets of Florence and goodness knows how many tickets are waiting for us when we get home.
The apartment was clean and it has 2 air conditioners but only one works but it seemed to cool the apartment just fine. There is a parking garage directly across the street and it was very reasonable. Thank you for the use of your apartment.
