We both retired and moved from California. My wife is origionally from Charleston and has always loved the mountains. I was delighted to move here as we have four (4) Seasons . Since we are local, and live in Maggie Valley, we are here for our guest needs. From key exchanges to advice and tips on area attractions.
John Pyle/Gwenda Rhodes-Pyle purchased this cottage in 2014
Many of the people in the area have lived here a long time and know their neighbors and local business proprietors. The four seasons create fall colors, winter snow, spring flowers and summer picnics. Winter views...elevation 3500 ft. and close to everything!
Completely renovated ..level entry onto deck and into house. Lovely covered front porch with garden in the front and back deck...New Brunswick pool table downstairs game room with king pillow top guest suite.
Our stay at your cabin was wonderful! We stayed for 4 nights and just loved it. Cabin had everything you need and in a great location. Gwenda has been a pleasure to work with! Thank you for the wine and fudge too! We will be back to visit!
We had a great 25th anniversary trip. The location is close to the main road but feels secluded. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our week vacation. Gwenda and John were great hosts and very responsive when we had any questions before or during our stay. And the bottle of wine was much appreciated! We normally stay on the Tennessee side but will definitely be back to the Maggie Valley/Waynesville area. Bryson City train trip was a lot of fun and there are great restaurants and four micro breweries within ten miles of the cabin. Also very near the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Cabin was a perfect retreat from the everyday hustle and bustle. The layout of the cabin is comfortable and the downstairs entertainment room was clutch. Very nice hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
On arrival at the cabin we were greeted with soft music and welcoming lights. A bottle of wine and some delicious mini apple and pecan pies along with a bag of fresh ground coffee were waiting for us to enjoy.
The cabin had everything anyone should need to prepare a meal. The furnishings and beds were very comfortable and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the pool table and the option to watch TV on either of the two sets. The free WiFi was an added bonus. Our evenings were spent on the balcony rocking to the sounds of the water fountain and enjoying the "firefly" display.
Would not hesitate to come back to Pinecone Cottage and encourage anyone heading to Maggie Valley to do the same.
Walking into a home that doesn't need any tidying upon arrival is a beautiful thing! I immediately felt at home! Close to everything! You definitely get more for your money at the Pinecone! Super cute and the "fire flies" at night was adorable and fun! Thanks for sharing your great property! It was a wonderful weekend away!
We have stayed at the Pinecone several times and have never been disappointed. We travel a lot and the Pinecone is our favorite place to stay. The cabin is completely charming, with two tranquil ponds. The kitchen has everything we need to prepare meals. It is close to all the action but far enough from the noise. The owners exemplify "southern hospitality." Can't wait to go back again!
