About Alice Martin

We were weekenders for many years, but finally decided to build our dream home on the property in 2008. Mark is a Washington University professor, and Alice is a substitute teacher in the local area. We love it here!

Alice Martin purchased this house in 1996

Why Alice Martin chose Missouri

This property was purchased because of the natural beauty of the area. The area is covered with oaks, hickories and cedar trees, as well as many native wildflowers. The convenience of I-44 close by was an added benefit.

What makes this house unique

This home is secluded, private and very, very quiet. The natural environment is restful and restorative. You can be as isolated as you like, or you can choose to be a tourist and get out to numerous attractions, it is all up to you!

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great getaway for our family. The house was even cuter in person! Loved the layout and our children spent hours on end running around the huge yard, fishing, canoeing, flying kits, playing games, coloring, reading, etc. It was a blast! Our dog too enjoyed running around the yard... maybe the most out of all of us :) Great mattress in the main room- its the little things that count. We really had a great time!

Wonderful Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay. From the moment we arrived we were ready to enjoy the water. In fact our son caught a fish within the first 10 minutes of us arriving. We hadn't even finished unpacking the car yet!

Being able to bring our dog for her first official vacation ever was such a joy. She was literally grinning from ear to ear. We hope to be able to return someday soon. Whether with our son, or just a couple getaway it would be perfect either way!

The one thing that we failed to do was hike on the trails. Next trip that is a must for us.

I think that the only we would like to have had would be a table and chair set on the beautiful deck so that we could of had our meals outside. Otherwise it could not of been more perfect.

This is the third visit we have had at the Post Oak Chase Guest House. It is clean, peaceful, fun, inspirational, and a time to be together as a family. We'll be back!

A perfect little house on a great property. Exactly what we were hoping for.

Again,

Just a great place. Loved the seclusion and trails. As long as the temperatures are good, the first week of November was nearly perfect.
