Located in the heart of the gated Indian Wells Country Club, just off the golf course, this one-of-a kind home offers a unique opportunity to vacation as a homeowner in the awe-inspiring beauty of a private desert retreat. Enjoy unobstructed views of the Santa Rosa Mountains from every room, or bask poolside on your large sunny patio surrounded by a quiet garden sanctuary busy with hummingbirds tending the orange, grapefruit, and lemon trees. Wake up to the sun. Have breakfast poolside, then stow your clubs on the back of the resident golf cart and head out for the course or take an early morning jog through the elegant neighborhood of beautifully manicured yards–where if you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of some of the most unique wildlife in America, such as the Prairie Falcon or other endangered species, as the entire neighborhood is located in a habitat conservation area.
Inside, it’s classic modern and mid-century. The eat-in kitchen includes expansive tile countertops, electric cooktop, double ovens along with everything you need to pull off a gourmet meal. The large, open living room features a gas fireplace, comfortable seating, dining room area, martini bar, with a wall of windows and sliders to the patio to provide that indoor/outdoor living experience you’ve been craving. The family room, which also opens to the patio, includes a large TV and sectional couch situated so you can watch the game while keeping an eye on the pool and gardens at the same time. The private master suite– separated from the rest of the house at the end of the hall - includes a king-sized bed, roomy closets, a lovely vanity and its own access to the pool through the bedroom or master bath. Two large guest bedrooms, one full sized, the other with a queen bed are situated across the hall, with a full bath (jack-n-jill) between them. Fluffy towels, soft 100% cotton sheets and comforters, basic supplies, and all the conveniences of home.

The History of Indian Wells, California
From a humble oasis sprung a fountain of luxury. Long an exclusive playground of movie stars, sports legends and even American presidents, Indian Wells now welcomes the world to its sparkling resorts and premier cultural, golf and tennis events.
What was once a tribal well and wagon stop slowly grew in the '50s and '60s into a small, celebrity-studded enclave. When President Dwight D. Eisenhower first vacationed here, he was so impressed with Indian Wells that it became his winter residence.
Throughout the '50s, tennis tournaments became annual events, and in 1960, the first Bob Hope Desert Classic was played at Indian Wells Country Club - forever making Indian Wells synonymous with top-ranked golf.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely Indian Wells home surrounded in the peaceful and tranquil setting of the majestic mountains. The owners were quickly responsive to any questions. The home was well stocked for our needs. What fun to pick grapefruit or oranges in the morning from our yard for breakfast poolside. The location was central for all activities especially convenient for the tennis tournament in La Quinta. We hope to stay in this wonderful, tastefully decorated and immaculate home again in the near future.
What a fabulous property. Tucked inside the majestic mountains, this beautiful classic property delivers. The views from the private pool in the backyard was our favorite. We were in town for a tournament at the club, and this was a perfect sanctuary before and after golf. We can't wait to come back! Victoria was great to deal with....We loved this place!
An unspoiled mid-century classic amidst many newer and bigger homes behind the gates of Indian Wells - period furnishings and oval pool and vintage golf cart to match. But that means plate glass sliders to be aware of, old style electric range and puny heat/AC ducting. But big modern fridge with ice and filtered water - and a juicer for Salty Dogs right off the grapefruit tree and mimosas from the tangelo tree were greatly enjoyed. Close to the scenic hills so less morning and late afternoon sun. Record cold for our month (Jan '16) so our outdoor dinning and pool experience in the desert warmth were under appreciated.
Clean and easy to live in. Keyless entry, easy parking, good area to just walk or bike around the manicured neighborhood and links - but too far to walk to shops. Busy gardeners and pool boys make the 'hood not as quiet as it could be - but the night sky and even coyote howls were magic
Owners very accessible and engaged with hi-tech remotes - and are reported to be adding new amenities - a pool cover and new cart batteries came while we were there.
For serious water lovers, check out nearby Palm Desert Aquatic Center. Don't miss Vicky's of Santa Fe live music and good food and wine just outside the gate - especially Wednesday's Lizzane. Frank's Place across the street is a "Rat Pack" style spot and worth it for a show, not the food - both cartable distance. Play 9 and wine after 2PM at the Marriott's courses - and use the headlights on the cart for a evening cocktail cruise!
The house is a classic 60’s ranch style single story home but has been maintained with modern amenities while still retaining the classic elegance and comfort of that era. I’m from Seattle and my brother from Chicago joined me on this California trip and we had a blast. This home is located in is a gated, elegant well kept up and maintained neighborhood that contains part of the Indian Wells Country Club, home of the old Bob Hope desert classic. We were out most of the days as we’re explorers and golfers but the mornings and evenings we spent in the house were very comfortable. The kitchen is modern, well equipped and we ate most of the our meals there, except lunches. It did not feel like a rental. It felt more like a home, which is hard to describe in this short write up. This place is in a great location and a value at the price. Took tours of Joshua, Shield dates (very close) and several nearby walks and hikes. Pool is great and nice sized and has a heater….although this was November when we visited I even swam. Golf cart comes with the rental and very enjoyable tooling around the nice neighborhood. Lemons and oranges from the trees within the yard flavored our lemonade by day and cocktails in the evening. Tons of shopping nearby for those who go for that type of thing. This home is in the middle of some of the top golf courses in the world of course. I will be back to enjoy more of that sun and desert hospitality at this home. 5 stars…I’ve been all over the world and although not very expensive…was very comfortable.
We escaped to this beautiful oasis recently and found it to be the most comfortable, chic home in a quiet neighborhood. It provided the perfect sanctuary away from home for us while I was recovering from a recent surgery. The home is bright, cheery and has all the amenities. Some of our favorite touches included the plush oversized beach towels, an electric juicer for juicing fresh grapefruit (for our greyhounds), pool floaties, the golf cart, a glass pitcher for making sun tea, and plastic wine glasses for those morning mimosas by the pool. The home is very spacious and beautifully decorated, and has lots of wonderful natural light! We loved that the kitchen was fully stocked, as we cooked nearly all of our meals in. We enjoyed lazy days by the pool and all our meals outside in the beautiful garden. The neighborhood was not only quiet, which was wonderful, but beautiful. The mountain views are breathtaking, especially at night! It was a close drive to groceries, ice cream, spa treatments, good yoga classes and golf! The owners were very helpful with suggestions and accommodating. We're very much looking forward to our next stay at Manitou Drive!
This property has it all! Chic mid-century feel, bright natural light, mountain views and a beautiful backyard oasis. Our family of four (two small kids) found it to be a perfect place to vacation. The fruit trees provided entertainment and delicious fresh lemonade and the pool, which is viewable from most of the house, kept the kids busy all day long. Even better? I didn't have to trudge to a shared pool every morning schlepping bags of gear! When the adults tired of swimming (the kids never do) we could simply slip inside and relax in the family room while still keeping an eye on them. We can't wait to book this house again!

Once your request and information is received, owner will provide a short term rental agreement (through the VRBO site). Upon acceptance of the rental agreement, Renter agrees to abide by all terms and conditions of the rental agreement, including the requirement to provide the full names of all adults who will be residing at the property. (The number of adults allowed at this property is limited to six - large groups cannot, and will not be accommodated). Changes to the people or the number of individuals residing at the house, without previous written consent of the owner may result in termination of the rental, without refund.
Damage deposit requirements:
A refundable damage deposit of $2000 is required to book the property.
Renter may also be required to purchase (through the VRBO site) additional insurance of $5,000. (Cost for this is listed on the VRBO site)
Cancellations that are made more than 90 days prior to the arrival date will incur 30% penalty. Cancellations that are made 90 days or less before the arrival date but not less than 45 days before the arrival date will forfeit 50% of the full payment. Cancellation less than 45 days prior to arrival will forfeit 100% of the rental amount fees, with the Damage Deposit returned in full. There is no refund for early departure. If payments and refunds are made online, all refund amounts will be provided minus the online transaction fee.
Tax: City of Indian Wells Tax is required for stays less than 31 days.
