About the property

Two Bedroom Apartment Newly Renovated And Fully Equiped!

Our bright and sunny apartment is newly remodeled with two bedrooms and one bath. The 800 square foot space has an entry foyer leading to a welcoming open-design living area. The bathroom and bedrooms are located beyond with a spacious hallway separating the bedrooms, the bathroom and laundry area.

The comfortable living area is open to a fully equipped kitchen with counter seating. There is also a separate dining area with large windows. You will be able to easily prepare meals on gas burners with food purchased from farmers' markets or natural food stores or bring in tasty offerings from the numerous nearby food carts.

The kitchen has new appliances including gas stove and traditional large and small appliances.

The bedrooms are comfortable, bright and well lighted with one bedroom having a queen size bed and the other room a double sized bed.

The location is one of the best neighborhoods in East Portland that is quiet and residential and yet provides an easy approach to the major highways leading to Columbia River Gorge scenic area or the Mt. Hood recreation corridor. The bus stop, one block away, allows you to venture beyond the local attractions to the City Center, Pearl and Nob Hill districts for additional shopping, bars, restaurants, museums and music venues.

You will be nearby to numerous and diverse restaurants offering different levels of dining from pizza to fine cuisine. Or you may choose to enjoy a glass of wine on the private deck with amazing sunset views. For an additional choice, exit through a french door to a back garden covered patio area.

A new stacked, large capacity washer/dryer is located within the apartment.

Private off-street parking guarantees a place for your car.

Comphy beds and pillows, tranquil back yard. Great old houses and gardens in the neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

The Apartment was very comfortable, kitchen looked very well stocked (we didn't cook) Great neighborhood with bus 1 block away and light rail about 1/2 - 3/4 mile walk, Loved morning walks to Slappy Cakes for coffee and breakfast. All the people we talked to were very nice.

Roomy apartment with charm!

  • 4 of 5

We were impressed by the apartment from the moment we arrived. The pictures on the website did not do it justice, according to my husband. The beds were comfy with quality linens. The neighborhood was quiet with little street traffic, even on the weekend preceeding July 4. It was nice to have cups, glasses, silverware, etc. for our use and a dishwasher to help with cleanup. Family who live in the area had advised us to rent a place with air conditioning. Since AC was listed under Amenities, we thought we had that covered. In truth, there was no central air and no window unit. When we called to ask, the landlord offered to come put it in...

Future guests will want to know that the security deposit will be held for 7 days following departure. Allan was good enough to explain this to me 4 days after we returned home, as I was unable to find it stated anywhere on the VRBO website.

Owner's Response: We were glad you found our apartment comfortable and that you enjoyed the amenities. I am sorry about the miss understanding about the air conditioning. Since we were experiencing nighttime temperatures in the low 50's and daytime temperatures in the high 70's to low 80's I didn't set up the air conditioning. Our windows were open as the neighborhood is very safe and we were enjoying the delightful daytime breezes and the cool nighttime temperatures. However I have since installed air conditioning and in the future will consult with guests for their particular requirements.

Negative

  • 1 of 5

I am sorry to say our time at this apartment was a very negative experience. The odor of this facility was a very strong smell of mold. We where unalble to control the temperature of the apartment as it was old radiators through out the facility. The people upstairs from us where very noisy. The kitchen was so small we where unable to cook. The owner of this facility micro manages its occupants. So I do not recommend this facility.

Owner's Response: Dianne, so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay in our apartment. We do have a strict no smoking policy which is indicated clearly and unequivocally in the listing, the rental agreement and the apartment handbook. I do this for the other guests who cannot tolerate smoke. When guests ignore this policy, I have to intervene. Also, I did have to call the plumber when the toilet became unattached. The plumber could not explain why the set screws were sheared unless there was a violent collision. Our kitchen is well designed with full size gas stove and oven, full size refrigerator, granite counter tops, with an array utensils and gadgets. If something is lacking, please let me know. I could not detect the mold odor nor have guests since complained of a smell. I will be more vigilant in the future. The radiators in the bedrooms are new, state of the art Buderus radiators while the one in the living room is an antique refurbished, elegantly filigreed radiator which provide a warm, cozy interior environment, a pleasant respite from Portland's cold, wet winter.
