An amazing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

I cannot do this property justice in a review. It is truly the most beautiful place that I have ever stayed in, bar none. It far exceeds even most five star hotels I have booked online, and those cost me an arm and a leg more than this rental. The only thing I would change is the length of our stay--another month might have been enough! For anyone who is traveling with enough family to need two hotel rooms, this is the place to go. It has two full bedrooms and baths, conveniently connected by way of a room with a washer and dryer.

The common areas, including front room, kitchen and dining room are all spacious, and beautifully furnished and designed. The full kitchen was especially and unusually helpful, with everything you could imagine needing to make a meal (including most of the actual ingredients you need for quite a number of meals).

The suite is the main floor of a large Victorian home, with Gardens clear around three sides of the house. It is quiet and peaceful, yet a very vibrant commercial area is literally just around the corner, a two to three minute walk at most. I especially appreciated that the Suite is at ground level, so no stairs.

Add to that the huge park nearby, with all sorts of fun stuff for the kids, including a zip line and other energetic play equipment. Also a petting zoo. And...... 5 minutes down the road by foot is a beautiful beach where the kids spent a great deal of time. As I said, I cannot do justice to this place by way of this review. Suffice it to say, it will be in my Rolodex for the next trip to Victoria; and I can't recommend it enough for anyone who wants to escape deary hotels on a road trip.

Consistently wonderful from one year to the next!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our second stay on Chapman, and, once again, we loved it! Everything about this wonderful property is top-notch, from its perfect location to the fantastic amenities. The "icing on the cake" is that Elizabeth is a wonderful person whose management is professional yet warm and friendly. This place has it all!

Best Ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures of this property are nice but don't do it justice. Everything about this property is 5 stars. Furnishings and décor are lovely yet very comfortable. Beds are great and bedrooms are roomy. So nice to have 2 roomy bathrooms for the four of us. Everything you need is there and more. 2 blocks from cafes, stores, services - walking distance to Victoria but we usually used cab service. We have used a number of vrbos and this one is definitely 5 stars. Highly recommend. Though we didn't meet Elizabeth - she was great to work with. If you plan to visit lovely Victorial - and we recommend you do - stay here.

Returning next year!

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely suite in a very nice house in the Fairfield area of Victoria, BC. We love Cook Street and the Fairfield area in general. A short walk takes you to Beacon Hill Park (great for young and old), Dallas Road (a walk along the water with lots of happy people and dogs) and downtown where lots of shops, restaurants and pubs beckon not to mention the harbour area with the outstanding Legislative Building and the very fine Empress Hotel.

Victoria's bus service is excellent so if you tire yourself out on the walk around downtown you can just hop on the bus and ride home. We have never bothered to rent a car because walking and public transit are so convenient, but renting a car would allow drives to the many other scenic spots on the Island close to Victoria and further afield.

There are usually cultural events of various kinds available. This year we much enjoyed two short plays presented by the Intrepid Theatre club for Target theatre. Bed Among the Lentils was a favourite. Good food is everywhere: Il Terrazzo, Zambri's, Lemongrass Thai, Masala Bites and the ever satisfying Beagle Pub plus many more. Munroe Books, Russell Books and Murchies not to be missed downtown. Good grocery and liquor shopping a few steps from the suite on Cook Street for your in-suite dining and entertaining.

Elizabeth is a terrific host and ensures that her suite is welcoming for her guests. Comfortable beds, excellent bathroom and laundry facilities, great cooking possibilities and relaxing, spacious entertaining areas await you. Lovely outside patios front and back for warmer months.

We had a wonderful time escaping a few weeks of our prairie winter and are planning to go back next year.

Highly Recommend

We have just completed our six week stay and have only good things to say. The accomodation is first rate in every respect and the location in Cook Street Village is within walking distance of both downtown and the ocean. Lots to see and do within just a few minutes walk. If you do need a car you can walk to car rental location too. Communications with owner were excellent too. We highly recommend and hope to return.
