Take a guided tour and learn about Australia’s early history as you stroll through the alleys and lane ways in the now-eclectic Rocks district. Just a short 12 min Ferry ride from our home that passes under the SHB and right by the OH. And guess what? Taking the Ferry is by far the preferred option of residents in this area. It’s just a ‘spectacular’ way for them to start the working day.

The house is fully furnished. Hotel quality white linen and towels, china, glassware, flatware and cookware. Set on two levels with internal wooden staircase . On the ground level is the kitchen, a combined pantry and laundry with WC and shower, then the formal dining room and elegant living/lounge room with French doors leading on to a front patio with unobstructed City and Habour views. Both rooms have white Carrara marble surround faux fire places. Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms each furnished traditionally. Front bedroom has a King size French Sleigh bed. There is an ensuite bathroom off the rear bedroom , which also has a French Queen size Sleigh bed. The middle bedroom has a double sized antique brass bed.

We booked both homes and couldn't be happier! The hospitality of our hosts was amazing, the homes were special, and the location outstanding! From the beautiful balconies overlooking Harbor Bridge to the spectacular garden rooftop views of Sydney to the well stocked kitchens and gorgeous bedroom views, these houses will not disappoint! Loved also the Balmain neighborhood, with exceptional restaurants, shops, and access to ferries and local transport. Can't say enough...thank you!!! We didn't want to leave...

Owner's Response: For those of you who may be wondering what Stacey is referring to when she says she booked both houses; the other house (in case this one is booked) is VRBO 360715, which is right next door with the same City views, exact same location. It is actually the one she choose to stay in as the others in her party liked some of the other features in this house more. (two houses side by side but different) Thank you Stacey, It was great to have you stay and have such a wonderful time. Knowing that though most of our clients mostly eat out, it is always nice to also know that for those that choose to eat in sometimes that the appliances etc we provide in the kitchens is well equipped for dealing with cooking. We feel the same when we travel. Location is just so important and knowing or understanding that when making a booking is just so important and all of our clients mention it and we are always very confident that the location aspect never disappoints. Balmain has everything one needs and as you so rightly noted it is just a lovely neighborhood of historical significance. Wonderful location. Perfect and great facilities.

Great Village atmosphere virtually right in the heart of the City. It's got everything you need for a short or long stay. The city is right in front of the house presenting great views that we enjoyed each morning on the front balcony patio with extended awning if it was hot. So nice.

The Ferry Service is the only way to travel to the city really because the trip is SOOO beautiful passing under the Harbour Bridge and right past the Opera House. a 12 minute ride that is too quick. Busses and trains all interconnect extremely well making it easy to get around. We caught the bus one time to get to a different part of the city and it took 10 minutes to the QVB. There is also a service to Barangaroo, and Darling Harbour, also right opposite the house with lots to see and do there and packed with restaurants and bars.

Our hosts were so helpful and very generous with the amenities that they provide during the stay.

I read a lot of the other reviews before booking here and they all lived up to it. This is a really great location. You can't go wrong.

6 Friends had fantastic stay here.

A bunch of Texans traveling, we ended our New Zealand cruise in Sydney and all 3 couples stayed here. Wonderful hosts and the house was everything that was as advertised and more. Fabulous location and for a group who has never visited Australia, Giacomo was a HUGE help to us in navigating our way around.

If you have any reservations about staying here---don't. We absolutely loved it!

From the moment we walked in, we knew it was the right place. Only a short walk to the ferries. Great views from our deck of the bridge and harbour lights. Our host was there to greet us and very helpful. We would definitely recommend this place to stay.

A lovely property in a great location

We enjoyed our stay in Balmain A great location and a most helpful host. The ferry journey into the centre , the views from the property and the closeness to shops for food etc were as previous reviews had said. And the beds were comfortable !
