We hope you love our home away from home as much as we do!
Hello, We are Gary and Kristina and we obtained the home in 2007. Gary parents have owned the home since 1987 until 2007 when we took it over. We used the home for several years as our own personal Vacation home and then rented it full time from 2012-2014. We decided to turn the home back into a Vacation Home as we really missed the 2 years we did not come up to the area for vacations. We recently remolded and did upgrades to the home. Most of the furniture and furnishings are brand new. We currently live in Brentwood and love the Sonora area and all the wonderful activities we can do here.
Kristina Hawkins purchased this house in 2007
We have been coming up to Sonora for many years when Gary's parents lived here and feel it is an ideal vacation location. We feel our property gives everyone the best of both worlds (Quite area but close to everything) We hope you enjoy our Home away from Home as much as we do.
we loved this house and location. Great open floor plan with lovely dining area, comfy living space and fireplace. well stocked kitchen with really high quality items - le crueset and good knives which is a rare find in a rental! hot tub was of course fab. and the town of Sonora is really charming. highly recommend this place.
What a beautiful cabin! This house spotless and beautifully decorated. We have a big family and everyone had plenty of space! The kids loved the big backyard and were thrilled to see deer! The big leather couches looked brand new and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Thank you Kristina for a wonderful couple of days! We would recommend this home to anyone and everyone!
We had a great vacation here last month with our out-of-state family who came to visit and explore the Gold Country. Our first impression upon arrival was the rustic simplicity and lack of clutter you may find at other VRBOs. We loved the decor and relaxed atmosphere. With such spacious living spaces, we had an easy time gathering at the dining table and around the kitchen counter or lounging on the comfy furniture and hanging out on the patio enjoying the hot tub. The kitchen is well equipped. The only thing we lacked was a garlic press; not something you use everyday. We had the upstairs bedroom suite during very hot weather. Although there is no air conditioning upstairs, the nights were bearable with open windows and the large fan provided. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are nicely decorated. This place is great as a home base for visiting the surrounding area and we really enjoyed our time here.
We stayed here in this property during Summer 2016.
Its a well maintained house and the owner is very responsive.
But very far from Yosemite .
We came to Sonora for a weekend wedding and 6 of us stayed in this lovely home on the fairway. There was plenty of room for all of us and we had everything we needed and more, including the hot tub! The home was clean and inviting and I would be happy to stay here again, and to recommend it to others. The owner was very responsive to our requests and returned emails within 24 hours. The location made getting to the wedding venue and town very easy. Nice local restaurants: Sonora Thai was excellent for dinner, and Papa's New Roost was a great spot for breakfast! Can't wait to go back!
Thank you so much for letting us use your cabin. Our group (2 families) spent MLK weekend there and we really enjoyed the cabin. It had everything we needed including bedding, towels, big screen TV, plates, utensils, pots, pans, WiFi, wood burning fireplace, and hot tub. There is a Safeway, Save Mart, Walmart, and many restaurants within 2 miles so the cabin was very conveniently located. It was an easy 40 min drive up the hill to Dodge Ridge ski resort and we even found a nice sledding hill about 30 min up Hwy 108. We really enjoyed it and we'll be back.
