About Garth Roberts

This home was purchased in 2013 and has been completely updated. We were looking for an old Florida community that has a small town feel, with a Main Street, nearby beach and friendly atmosphere. Lake Worth is known for its 'cottages,' and this 1925 historic home is a short walk or bike ride to the center of town where you'll find restaurants, galleries, supermarket and shopping opportunities. The newly restored Lake Worth Casino is part of the beautiful Lake Worth beach.

Why Garth Roberts chose Lake Worth

We love older homes - this property boasts it's original stucco walls, arched entrances, fireplace and original hardwood floors. We have always been drawn to the Mission Revival Style.

What makes this house unique

Lake Worth is a coastal city of 37,000 residents and 7 square miles, located in Palm Beach County, Florida. The Atlantic Ocean and the broad waters of the Lake Worth Lagoon form the city's east boundary and the beautiful fresh waters of Lake Osborne its west. Next door to Palm Beach, it is situated along the latitude making the northern most point of the subtropics. Lake Worth is truly the place “where the tropics begin” and the fun never ends.

Lake Worth is a dynamic, multi-cultural city with a strong social and environmental consciousness. People are drawn to the city by its independent character, acceptance of different cultures and lifestyles, many historic structures, hip downtown, and distinctive residential neighborhoods. The city has a rich history and is protective of its historic architectural fabric. Over 1,000 historic buildings contribute to the human scale and charm of the downtown and residential areas.

The City is the geographic and artistic center of Palm Beach County. The downtown is considered the artistic soul of Lake Worth with a historic theater and a museum, live music clubs, coffee houses, art galleries, antique malls, retail stores, and many restaurants.

Delightful, relaxing, charming...

  • 5 of 5

From the first moment we walked into this sweet cottage...we were in love with it. Ours was a working trip and we were gone every day till sunset...so to be able to come "home" and relax like we were at our own home...was perfect.

The property was clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable...and the kitchen more than covered everything we needed. Even the dishes were fun.

We actually did not connect with the owners or manager...we had no time as we were so busy...then so tired at the end of each day. However, I would like to correct that omission now. Garth, Doug and Penny...loved loved loved our stay. Thank you for sharing your sweet cottage.

We would highly recommend this property if your holiday brings you to Lake Worth Florida.

Lovely well maintained historical house in peaceful environment!

  • 5 of 5

We spent Christmas and New Year in this old and cosy little house. It is well situated in calm neighborhood only few minutes walk from the centre and few more minutes to the beach. With the bikes provided to guests it was fun to cruise around.

The house itself was clean, kitchen well equipped, even for making more complicated meals.

The backyard with patio and grill was very nice to spend time and have breakfast and dinner.

It is very hard to name any complaints for this house during our stay.

I surely recommend anyone to spend vacation in this lovely house.

The perfect place to relax

  • 5 of 5

The home is absolutely beautiful. Garth and Doug thought of everything. The location is right next to a small town where we had our breakfast. The beach is very close by, just a short drive away. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. The home is simply beautiful, the chairs outside in the backyard are so welcoming and breakfast outside is very peaceful. We loved our stay here, and would definitely recommend it to all our friends and family.

Location perfect for anyone who would like to walk to a restaurant or enjoy (provided) a bike ride

  • 5 of 5

Overall the place was exactly as advertised and more. The place is decorated beautifully and the wife enjoyed all of the little touches that Doug and Garth put into the place. Neighbors are friendly and helpful especially Jim two houses South. We found the place spotless and hope we left it better than we arrived. You will find that Doug and Garth are very responsive and easy to,work with. The great thing is their property manager Kelly lives north one house and addressed several concerns while we were there promptly and cheerfully.

I would recommend the property to friends and had some friends over without exception everyone loved Casa Del Sol and you will too! We were lucky enough to be there for the Lake Worth street fair with hundreds of chalk artist creating works of art with chalk, some of it even three dimensional!

Do try the restaurants downtown we tried several including Pelican, Rustico Italiano. The latter being a little pricey but the food awesomely good. Make sure you walk or bike to the beach and try Mulligans right on the beach, fun place to have

breakfast at sunrise and then walk the beach. It is (pricey $2.00 per hour) if you park at the beach so just be aware of it.
