About the property

1 Bdrm Loft That Sleeps 4!

Gorgeous 1 bedroom loft, offering great views, close to beach and activities. Windows from floor to vaulted ceiling allows you to view the moon rise, and passing shooting stars. Wake up to the gorgeous sunrise, overlooking Kapahi Valley, and Kealia Beach out in the distance. A spiral staircase leads you up to the loft where dreams of waterfalls and crystal clear blue waters can be had after watching the stars align above. The full kitchen with granite counter tops and everything you need, outdoor BBQ, and washer/dryer will make you feel right at home. 2 1/2 miles to the beach, surf, and 3 miles to Old Kapaa Town.

The unit is located behind our home on the same property with common space in between. There is a lanai behind the unit for ultimate privacy - be it a family barbecue, or your morning cup of coffee watching the sunrise peak over the ocean.

If you love the country and privacy, Kealia Hale is for you, complete with down home hospitality given with the spirit of aloha. Our hale is your hale.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for the lovely loft... It's been a fantastic "Home away from home" for us :) :)

Waking up with the birds and falling asleep with the full moon shining through the windows. Peace + Quiet = MAGIC!

We loved living like a local!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our family of four! We enjoyed the amazing view, the natural sounds of Kauai (i.e. roosters are everywhere, but so are the beautiful song birds that you'll miss staying at a closed up hotel), walking the neighborhood at night catching frogs, the tips to secret spots (i.e. the sweet potato chips at the taro chip factory in Hanapepe were delish!), and the kids loved the trampoline and their instant friends! The shared yard was a safe place away from the road for the kids to play. We felt like we had our privacy and easy access to Sean and Marisol (and the kids to play with our kids). We didn't use the lanai in the back, although private from the owner's house it does overlook the neighbors backyard (who we never saw). It wasn't a big deal though because with all the great louver windows it felt like we were sitting outside right at the dining table or on the couch. The kitchen had all that we needed to cook meals at home. The location is ideal for exploring in any direction. We loved using the beach gear including the towels, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, cooler and especially the snorkel gear! The washer and dryer made for easy packing, too.

The house is a great family-friendly beach house. It's for people that want an affordable space in a real place next to real people, living like a local.

Mahalo, Sean and Marisol and your great kids! We hope to be back in 2018 for a longer stay.

Private, home-like, great hosts and great location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came to Kauai on our honeymoon and stayed 5 nights with Sean and Marisol. They were great hosts and we used the beach and snorkel equipment they provided us with every day! We loved the ability to open all the widows and enjoy the weather and breezes. We cooked breakfast almost every day and a couple dinners and loved waking up to that spectacular view each morning. Very close to the beach, downtown Kapa'a and only an hour drive to south shore or north shore. Great central location. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful home but not quite what it appears to be

  • 2 of 5

The pictures of the front are right on and the view is beautiful with all of the windows. However, what doesn't show are the houses surrounding you on the other 3 sides. We enjoy sitting outside and didn't feel we could as you are pretty close to the neighbors yard (as well as it was muddy). You must park in the owners driveway and walk through their yard (filled with lots of stuff) to get to your home. It didn't feel very private at all nor very peaceful. It was my fault for not looking on google earth to see where this house sits. I will take the blame for that. The house itself was nice. I'm not going to say it was dirty but it definitely wasn't thoroughly cleaned (and I'm not picky). I love baths and there was no way I was sitting in that tub. Many of the light bulbs were out and it took 3 days for them to be replaced and some never were. It's a great house but just not in the right setting. However, it was in a very convenient location to get to any part of this beautiful island. I think a little tender loving care could spruce this place up and perhaps just some pictures of what's surrounding it would be helpful so there is no surprise upon arrival.

Thanks for the stay.

Owner's Response: We CLEARLY state in our description the unit is in a residential area and located behind our home. We also clearly state there is common space between our home and the unit, and we also describe the parking space for the unit is our shared driveway. A review based on things we state in our description doesn't seem fair - every guest has the option to read through and decide if staying in a residential area is something they want to do. Residential usually means you're in a neighborhood and there are houses around. We by no means ever claim anything else. Not reading the description completely is simply not our responsibility. As far as the tub - well, we've got a thing called red dirt here, that's not found anywhere else - not all our guests rinse off after their amazing dirt-filled hikes outside - hence the very faint discoloration. We disinfect and thoroughly clean after every guest. We are by no means a resort or hotel, we are a fun-loving family allowing guests to come and stay with us at a very low price, centrally located and giving people a chance to really feel the island and all it has to offer. If you want aloha, secret island spots to see (if you ask, we'll tell you) and a comfy island retreat with awesome views and friendly neighbors - come stay with us! We'd love to have you! Mahalo nui loa.

Everything portrayed in the photos and in the information section was spot on! This loft style place was fantastic!! We got to wake up every morning to a view of the beach with the clouds and just green trees everywhere, which is quite the change from our daily lives. Sean and Marisol were very nice, accommodating, and considerate. There was everything we needed in the loft already from entertainment to wifi signal to a big comfy bed! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on our honeymoon. Cant wait to go back for a second trip!!

We had an awesome time in the loft. The pictures are very accurate.

Loved having nice kitchen and BBQ - great option having nice sociable space for staying in.

Sean and Marisol were very friendly and available for anything we needed, although it wasn't necessary... everything was great! :)
