|Minimum Stay||1 - 7 nights|
Great location at Kona Makai! This charming unit sits on the third floor in the popular building 6, one unit back from oceanfront. Nicely decorated and fully stocked with everything a guest would need for a relaxing vacation. The high, vaulted wood ceilings provide a wonderful sense of space and openness. The master bedroom room offers a king size bed and a wall A/C, and the very large loft has two twin beds and a wall A/C as well. There are cool tile floors throughout the main living areas, and bamboo floors in the bedroom. The fully stocked kitchen includes a washer and dryer and dishwasher, and opens up to the living area which is great for entertaining or watching TV. The beautifully remodeled bathroom features a walk-in shower with bench. The private lanai offers very nice ocean views yet is shielded from direct sun, making it a great place to sit back and relax any time of the day.<br>
Worth the view alone
We stayed 10 days. The view was great of the crashing waves, the pool and jacuzzi,, and even the center well-kept garden. View of sunset requires one minute walk to common area, not from lanai. Very quiet, didnt see young kids. They had snorkel gear, but we had brought our own. Good security for parking. One mile from everything in Kailua. Three miles from great snorkeling and sand beach. One mile to place where getting and dropping keys.
No elevator didn't bother us, even though I counted the 24 steps. Air conditioning was marginal but it was only in high 70's so was adequate. It's dated, but also no big deal. Couch and inside chairs not comfortable. We only sat on lanai, thoigh. Kitchen plates, glasses, toaster, coffee pot, pans, etc were adequate. Consumable supplies were not. We bought paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc, even remote control battery. Coffee drip type pot heating pad covered in burnt coffee crud but otherwise all was clean.
We are a mid-50s couple. Overall, it's a great value, a place where you'll be left alone and feel at home, but not the luxury or cost of a $400/night hotel.
