Great location

  • 4 of 5

We loved staying here, close to Kahalu'u beach where my 4-year old snorkelled for the first time comfortably in the sheltered bay. The kids enjoyed the pool as well, naming the 24-hr a day pool vacuum on the long hose R2D2. They only wished that the hot tub was hot, not the same temperature as the pool.

They slept in the family room as my husband and I were able to relax and watch TV in the closed off bedroom with AC after the kids went to bed with the fan in the family room.

Good thigh workout carrying 2 kids up 3 flights of stairs several times after they fell asleep on the car ride home after long days adventuring.

Great beach and snorkel gear provided.

Overall, great location, quiet, but close enough as a base to everything on Kona coast... we would definitely stay here again.

Great getaway from the snow in Canada:)

Awesome Condo at Kahalu'u

  • 5 of 5

This is the best affordable condo in Kahalu'u beach with a million dollar view! The condo on the top floor and the lanai is on a corner that overlooks the bay - it is spectacular! Beautiful sunsets from the comfort of the Lanai as you can see in the photos. The unit is super clean and the kitchen is newly updated. I have stayed at many condos in Kahalu'u and this is by far the best deal and the best location. The unit also has basic beach gear in good condition. This is a top notch quality vactation rental at the price - and trust me I've stayed at a lot of them. Oh! And also important - it sits up about a half a block from Ali'i Drive so it is quiet from the noise of the traffic. If you are lucky to book it - don't hesitate.

And in regards to the other post by David D - perhaps he is new to Hawaii but lots of fans is a GREAT THING - all you have to do is open up the windows, turn the fans and let the sea breeze cool it down. using an air conditioner is a last resort because you want to smell the sea and flowers on the breeze. But if you want to cool the unit with the air conditioner - you can!! Just close it up and cool it. Too bad he didn't figure that out because the unit is fabulous and you can't beat the view.

Decided not to stay

  • 3 of 5

We picked this property for its location, which was just perfect, a two-minute walk to Kahalu'u Bay.. However, upon arrival, it was stifling inside, and we found one tiny air conditioner in the bedroom, and SEVEN fans throughout the small apartment. Kona had been very hot during the summer, and was still topping out at 85 in December. We read the "writing on the wall" and changed to another location managed by the same company (SunQuest), which I have to report was done really well and expeditiously.

Owner's Response: Aloha, We are glad you enjoyed your stay! Yes, it is warm here on the island, even in December. This is why visitors flock to the island on a daily basis. The owners do recognize this and have done what they can to provide an AC unit in the bedroom as well as fans throughout the unit. I am happy we were able to accommodate you.
