Why Martha Troxler chose Harkers Island

We chose this property because we fell in love with Harkers Island. We enjoy the quiet island lifestyle with beautiful beaches and few crowds. Harkers Island offers great fishing, kayaking, and bird watching. Our home is located on a quiet, dead end street with water views of West Bay. The screened in porch is a great spot to have a morning cup of coffee while enjoying the sunshine.

It had everything that we needed.

  • 4 of 5

I liked the fact that it was in a residential area instead of a business setting.. Martha came by to make sure we had every thing that we needed.

A new experience for mom

  • 5 of 5

The house was more than we could have asked for. Everything was there that you could ask for. The screen porch was nice to sit on and just view the sound and the quiet. Beds were comfortable and we slept great. Martha was great to work with. We will definitely stay here again.

Nice property and owner

  • 5 of 5

House was clean and as advertised. Recent and attractive renovations make this place a pleasure to spend limited vacation time. Harker's Island is a very attractive place - quite and peaceful at this time of year. The island is a bit of a drive from more active areas such as Atlantic Beach and Fort Macon Beach, however the peace and quiet was appreciated.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

Great location! We loved our stay! The adults hung out on the awesome screened in porch and the kids much appreciated the tv and wifi. I loved the local beach access and the kids enjoyed seeing the drawbridge open and close. We had a bit of car trouble while we were on the island and Martha was very responsive to anything that we needed. We'll definitely be back!

Awesome stay!

  • 5 of 5

Great location, fully stocked and great porch! Would highly recommend this place to stay on Harkers Island. Our only complaint was the very uncomfortable beds and couch. Maybe it's just cause we're old! Otherwise it was awesome!

Owner's Response: The mattresses are less than three years old and are of good quality. We have had no other complaints. We are planning to replace the couch with a fold out sofa by the end of 2017 as an improvement to the house.

Harkers Island Rental

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Harkers Island! Martha was so easy to communicate with and she even left us 4 bikes to use while we were there, plus plenty of great suggestions of things to do with our family! We took the ferry to Cape Lookout, swam at and toured Fort Macon, ate dinner and visited the Maritime Museum in Beaufort and relaxed at the house after getting a little sun burned. The house was perfect for our family of six! We had comfy beds, plenty of space and even great books, boardgames and movies for when we needed a bit of downtime. We would certainly come back again to stay!
