Overview

About the property

Enjoy the feeling of country living yet you can still walk 2 blocks to dine/shop

The best in Waimea living. Walk a few minutes to our local Wednesday farmers market and further on to distance shops, dining and historic Parker Ranch.

Community amenities include a community center with a gym, sauna, and a gathering area and kitchen.

The home offers two bedroom/two bath with an extra large living room with a mountain view, an enclosed glassed-in lanai so that the living room flows into the lanai, a gas fireplace and a spacious kitchen with all the amenities.

The scenery around Waimea is stunning, and great for hikes and travel down to the coast and find a spectacular oasis that has earned a reputation as one of Hawaii Island’s finest beaches, Hapuna Beach , only 25 min. from Waimea. It’s always worth driving to Waimea from the resorts of the Kona and Kohala coasts, just to wind through the green hills, breathe the cool air and take in the soaring vista of Mauna Kea.

Our town now has two major observatories, tied by fiber optics to the telescopes atop Mauna Kea. Two theaters, art galleries, and three Waimea farmers markets where you can buy delicious fresh local products and a good breakfast. Waimea is surrounded by scores of small farms, growing everything from Cymbidium orchids to organic strawberries.

It’s a short distance from farm (or ranch) to table here, which has turned Waimea into something of a culinary mecca, especially for a town that’s barely a quarter of the size of Oahu’s Kailua.

Great location, close to shopping, quiet lovely neighborhood with club house , fabulous views

  • 4 of 5

Spacious and well equipped. One suggestion would be to provide a book specific to the home with how to's....for example there were no instructions on operating the fireplace, or garbage pick up etc.

We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and comfortable home in green and cool Waimea.

Great location, quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

The house is located at the end of quiet street within walking distance a great farmer's market open 2 days/week, and the back of the home overlooks beautiful green pastureland. Home was fairly new with a large, well-equipped kitchen. Overall, it was a very comfortable. Ideal for an extended stay on the Big Island

Quiet spacious home

  • 4 of 5

House made a lovely base point for an extended stay. Great beds and cool evenings made for sound sleeping, with daytime temps very comfortable at the higher elevation. Spacious rooms more than adequate and we felt right at home in a quiet, safe neighborhood with amenities very close by. It was nice having a variety of birds in yard and a lovely open view of Mauna Kea overlooking ranch land. Although owners were off site, any issues were addressed. Would stay here again.
