About Richard Ziegler

My wife & I moved to New Orleans in August of 2000. What can we say . . . . we fell in love with the city and are still here 17 years later.

Richard Ziegler purchased this house in 2004

Why Richard Ziegler chose Central City/Garden District

This is/was our 1st home in New Orleans. We absolutely love the house, neighbors & neighborhood. As such, we could never imagine selling it. We built a new house in 2015 to accommodate our growing family but still live in the Irish Channel only a few blocks away.

What makes this house unique

Wonderful home in a vibrant neighborhood. Walking distance to Magazine Street - close proximity to all great neighborhoods in New Orleans.

Very spacious family home in great location

  • 4 of 5

This roomy home was perfect for our family group of six adults & a five year old. Very safe, quiet neighbourhood minutes from the eclectic bustle of Magazine Street. Sadly the weather was not good enough for us to enjoy the sweet back yard with the screened porch. Richard was pleasant to deal with & very flexible about check in/ out times, which we really appreciated. We would be happy to stay here again.

Looking forward to the next visit!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is fantastic. The owner is even better. The pictures don’t do it justice. The house is huge! And the back patio is the perfect place to start your evening or recap the night before with a cup of coffee! Easy Uber ride ($6-9)to the Quarter if that’s your thing. Although the neighborhood provides all the NOLA you’ll need. Can’t wait to go back.

Anniversary getaway with feiends

  • 5 of 5

This house was just perfect for our group of five women. Lots of room, split plan layout and three bathrooms. Nice back yard with a screen porch so we could enjoy an adult beverage together outside. It truly couldn’t have been any better. Great location. Two blocks to the bus line and about six to the street car. Made the perfect setting for getting together for our tenth anniversary and my proposal to my partner. Many thanks to Richard, the owner, who made our decision to book his home so easy and our stay just the best ever.

Large, Comfy Home - Very Convenient and safe location, close to everything

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent four nights at this home in November for Thanksgiving. We were four adults and four children (ages 9 to 15). BEDROOMS: The four bedrooms were perfect for us. There are two large Master bedrooms on the main floor with super-comfortable beds. One of the bedrooms opens to a nice quaint garden with a covered patio. On the upper floor, which has a good number of steps, there are two bedrooms, perfect for the kids. Bedroom 3 is larger with a queen bed and a single. Bedroom 4 is the smallest with two single beds, which were ideal for kids. BATHROOMS: There is one full bath on the main floor with a powerful shower. There is also a half bath in the hall, which is convenient. On the upper floor there is another full bathroom. Total two and a half baths. Plenty of towels, toilet paper and welcome soap etc are provided. KITCHEN and DINING: The kitchen is very big with an adjacent dining room with a big table for 8 people. The kitchen has everything you need, except for personal cooking ingredients and grocery. There is a coffee machine with filters, toaster, waffle maker, etc. Plenty of pans, utensils, etc. LIVING ROOM: The living room is comfortable with two sofas that would seat about 6 comfortably. Others can sit on the carpet. There is a flat screen TV with plenty of channels, and DVD player which we did not use. OWNER: The owner is very responsive and accommodating. You will get easy directions. PARKING: Parking is on the street, in front of or near the house. We had no problems in finding parking near the house. LOCATION: The location is great and only two short blocks to Magazine street's very hip and bustling section of restaurants, grocery supermarket, pharmacy, coffee shops, etc. The French Quarter is barely a 10 minute drive. The Garden District is walkable and so is St. Charles Ave. where you can take the trams. Consider getting the day pass for $3 as you can use it all day on buses and trams. For families with kids, there is a playground with swings and monkey bars, literally a few steps from the house. Kids can play soccer or enjoy the swings. Overall, we had a great stay and highly recommend this home for your stay.

Great for a group

  • 5 of 5

Plenty of space for our group of 6. Close to everything! The house was clean and well stocked for our group. Richard was very easy to work with, stayed in touch during our stay, and ensured we had a place to keep our bags even though we had a late flight home. I would highly recommend this property!
