About Richard Ziegler

My wife & I moved to New Orleans in August of 2000. What can we say . . . . we fell in love with the city and are still here 17 years later.

Richard Ziegler purchased this house in 2004

Why Richard Ziegler chose Irish Channel

This is/was our 1st home in New Orleans. We absolutely love the house, neighbors & neighborhood. As such, we could never imagine selling it. We built a new house in 2015 to accommodate our growing family but still live in the Irish Channel only a few blocks away.

What makes this house unique

Wonderful home in a vibrant neighborhood. Walking distance to Magazine Street - close proximity to all great neighborhoods in New Orleans.

Our stay was fabulous!!! I highly recommend this property... the house is so charming!

Richard was available for any questions we had and the house was clean and accommodating for our party. The location is only 2 blocks from Magazine St with fabulous food and shopping. The location was perfect for us and the Garden District was such a pleasure to walk through. The house had plenty of room for all of us and the backyard has a wonderful screened gazebo which was nice at night. Thanks for the wonderful time... can’t wait to return!!

Unforgettable Carnival

  • 5 of 5

We were a motley crew of eight -- family and friends -- who reunited in New Orleans for a much needed dose of Mardi Gras fun and frivolity. This wonderful house in the Irish Channel was the perfect setting. Even with eight adults underfoot, there was room for everyone to be comfortable, from the EXCELLENT beds to the spacious rooms (those tall ceilings were amazing) -- and plenty of space to settle in at the dining table. The kitchen was well equipped (try the waffle iron, it's great) and the screened in gazebo in the back yard made an excellent lounge area when we needed to rest up between parades. It was a pretty walk to the St. Charles parade route and the shops on Magazine Street. We appreciated the close proximity of the grocery store (the excellent BreauxMart) and the buses on Magazine made getting to the Quarter a snap, even on Mardi Gras. Our host, Richard, helped put everyone in Carnival mood with decorations of beads and masks, and then he surprised us with a delicious King Cake! The folks in our group who had never experienced Mardi Gras had a fabulous time...and those of us who know and love New Orleans were delighted to be so welcomed. We left with regret and look forward to returning to this special home one day soon.

Very spacious family home in great location

  • 4 of 5

This roomy home was perfect for our family group of six adults & a five year old. Very safe, quiet neighbourhood minutes from the eclectic bustle of Magazine Street. Sadly the weather was not good enough for us to enjoy the sweet back yard with the screened porch. Richard was pleasant to deal with & very flexible about check in/ out times, which we really appreciated. We would be happy to stay here again.

Looking forward to the next visit!!

This place is fantastic. The owner is even better. The pictures don’t do it justice. The house is huge! And the back patio is the perfect place to start your evening or recap the night before with a cup of coffee! Easy Uber ride ($6-9)to the Quarter if that’s your thing. Although the neighborhood provides all the NOLA you’ll need. Can’t wait to go back.
