About David Dane

Avid Flyfisherman and skier. Love to hunt birds and ducks. Enjoy the great outdoors. We love animals and own property in Maine and Arizona also.

David Dane purchased this cabin in 2004

Why David Dane chose Allegheny Mountains & Her Valleys

We chose this area because of its remoteness and due to the wild animals in the area. Security and recreational activities in the area were a big plus too!

What makes this cabin unique

A herd of deer, wild turkey, an occasional black beer! If you love animals, bird watching, and the great outdoors, this is the place for you.

Wonderful accommodations, super location. Will certainly book another stay

  • 5 of 5

Our week long stay was great. The house was very clean and well kept. Quiet gated neighborhood. We saw 75 deer while driving through the development. Close to several family owned restaurants. Just a "stones throw" from the lake. Plenty of parking.

Second Visit, Wonderful Place!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit and it was just as great as the first time. Dave is very responsive to questions and the property is very well maintained. There is enough room to stretch out and relax and while it's remote, everything you need is available.

Cozy and Comfortable cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful week with family at the Dane's Cabin. Plenty of room for everyone with all the comforts of home. Enjoyed the hot tub on the crisp cool October nights.

Very relaxing

  • 3 of 5

It was very relaxing, saw deer everyday and wild turkeys twice. Extremely thankful for the 2 air conditioners as it was much hotter than it is normally that time of year, could have used 1 more air conditioner in the downstairs bedroom. The property was more run down than the pictures showed. The koi pond was an algae filled swamp. The chimnea was no longer there, some of the patio furniture was broken. Spider webs were everywhere, spot light bulbs inside were burned out, furniture needed dusted. Dishes were put away dirty with dried on food. We spent the first day doing four loads of dishes (probably need to get the heating element fixed on the dishwasher because it would take hours for the water to heat if I forgot to run the faucet to get the hot water to the dishwasher). All and all, I would recommend it provided it got a good cleaning inside and out, repairs were made as needed, and an exterminator reduced the volume of insects indoors and out. Despite the deficiencies, I got a great week's rest. Thanks!, Joseph and Angela

Owner's Response: I rent property in 3 states and I take this role seriously, I promise you that i will address your concerns on my next visit to the cabin which will be in December. As you can imagine it is tough to keep up routine maintenance when the cabin is so busy and my time there is limited. However, all of my guests deserve a great stay in a clean and well maintained environment. My sincere apologies for the present condition of the cabin. I am sure that we can do better in the future, as we have done better in the past.

Great place to stay!

Great cabin. Great yard. Great location. My family really enjoyed our stay. Fun for both kids and adults. Wi-fi and Verizon cell service was convenient and a luxury in that area. We would definitely stay again. Thank you.
