About the property

2BR, 1.5BA Mountain Cabin with Year-round Views

This cabin has been totally renovated. In spring 2017, a new Nordic hot tub was installed and tall pines lining the driveway were removed to open the view. In spring 2015, the exterior retaining walls were completely rebuilt and the landscaping was freshened with new plantings. Inside you will find a new sofa and recliner, new main floor bedroom furniture, new bedding and window treatments in both bedrooms, plus a new cabinet in the loft full of fun new games and books for all ages. Also, many titles have been added to the DVD movie library.

The kitchen and both bathrooms were totally gutted and rebuilt from the floor up. The main floor has new Hickory hardwood floors through living room, kitchen, & bedroom. The kitchen has coordinating hickory cabinets, granite counter tops & granite sink, new faucet, window, lighting, and dishwasher.

The bathrooms have been completely redone with tile flooring, new vanities, fixtures & lighting. The main floor bath has a 4 foot walk in shower. (No tub, shower only)

The main floor bedroom features a log king bed made by the owner and new log side tables and dresser. The bed is dressed with a new bear theme quilt with matching shams and window treatment made by the owner. The French door leads out to the back deck.

The 2nd floor bedroom has a queen bed, and features a beautiful Donna Sharp quilt and window treatments. This bedroom also has an adjoining 1/2 bath, a small sitting area, and a small private balcony through the French door that overlooks a wooded area and the outdoor dining area. For a special touch, the owner monogramed all bed linens.

The living room has a comfy overstuffed sofa and recliner, and an upholstered rocker providing comfortable seating for four. The cabin is tastefully decorated with charming rustic appeal and has a cozy welcoming feeling as soon as you walk through the door. The hearth cabinets, fireplace mantel, stair/loft railing, and deck chairs were custom made by the owner.

This cabin has been lovingly renovated inside and out over the last several years. They will be back each winter to complete more projects. Every detail reflects their talent and hard work. You'll find very few cabins in the Smokies that compare in quality and comfort! Hillside Haven is a retreat that you'll want to come back to again and again!

About Amy Greener

Hi, I'm Amy Greener, a resident of Knoxville and manager for my neighbors who are the owners of Hillside Haven. My cabin is down the street, so I've watched them renovating it from top to bottom, inside and out. When the owners wanted to make the cabin available for rentals part of the year, they asked me to help. So I can speak from first hand experience that they have put hundreds of hours, sweat and occasional tears into Hillside Haven. Very few rental cabins are of this quality and the attention to detail is outstanding.

Amy Greener purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Amy Greener chose Pigeon Forge

The owners have vacationed here every year for nearly 20 years, to visit friends in the area and to escape the cold and snow in the north. Purchased in Sept. 2012, the owners live in and work on the cabin throughout the winter and early spring, returning north when the snow melts. Much has been done, but they still have many exciting projects ahead! On a very quiet street, only 2.5 miles from the parkway in Pigeon Forge, Hillside Haven is a special retreat that allows you to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the mountains. Every morning is a sight to behold and enjoy!

Hillside Haven is located on a quiet street at the

top of the mountain, where it feels like you are

miles from everything. Here you can enjoy year round mountain views, listen to the birds sing, and hear the Dollywood train whistle. Best bang for the buck - Dixie Stampede!

It's worth every penny! Great pre show,

Wonderful food & lots of it! Outstanding show! Perfect for kids and adults. You'll love it! Once the leaves have fallen you can also see Pigeon Forge below, which is especially beautiful during Winter Fest. You've never seen so many holiday lights! And look for the horse drawn carriages covered in lights on the Pkwy. Beautiful and romantic!

There are hundreds of restaurants and shops just minuets from the cabin. And plenty to see and do. Check out the zip line at the bottom of the hill. Or try indoor skydiving, horseback riding, or take a helicopter tour. Visit the Forbidden Caverns (take a jacket), the Titanic museum, Dollywood & Splash Country, the Artist Community in Gatlinburg, or take a scenic drive over the mountain to North Carolina.

You can be on the go all day, or you can do nothing all day. Either choice is perfect.

Hillside Haven is about rest & relaxation in

comfortable, simple, refined rustic surroundings.

'We don't have a TV in every room, we don't have video games or a pool table, no theater room, no landline phone, & no 'techy' gadgets.

We are 'low-tech' by choice. Things to enjoy:

Read a good book. Watch a movie. Take a walk. Enjoy the surroundings and the wildlife.

We love it here and are sure you will too.'

Great property in the heart of the Smoky Mountains

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was perfect for our autumn get away. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and we appreciated the attention to décor. Every inch of space is well utilized. Kitchen was fully stocked (we cooked in every meal), loved the hot tub and really enjoyed sitting on the front porch at the end of our hiking days taking in the beauty of the view. The cabin location is far enough away from the tourist congestion to feel remote but close enough to access SMNP and other attractions easily. We spent every day hiking different trails of SMNP. This was our second trip to the mountains and we would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Cathy and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed Hillside Haven. Dee, the owner, just finished decorating for the holidays and it's amazing! If you ever come back between mid November and mid January, you'll have to check it out. Or if you come back for a three-peat visit of the Smokies, please look us up. We would love to host you again at Hillside Haven.

Charming cabin with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay - the cabin is cozy, nicely appointed, and offers beautiful views from its front-facing windows and porch. We didn't use the hot tub, but we were grateful for the dvd library, wifi, and board games. The cabin is only about 5 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and is even closer to the attractions in Pigeon Forge. We were a bit disappointed to find that the fireplace is electric and for appearances only, but that's my own fault for not noticing such in the listing. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

Charming and private cabin! Wonderful place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely adored this cozy cabin. It was exactly what we needed, perfect for a couple's escape into the Smoky Mountains. Everything was spotless, well-organized and fully stocked to make us feel like we were right at home. The view is gorgeous, I was so excited to wake up and take my morning coffee out on the porch to look at the beautiful mountains. This is my new favorite place to stay in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. We will most definitely be booking this lovely cabin many times to come!
