Overview

About the property

3 bedroom/2.5 Bath beatiful waterfront home. Spend your vacation on the water!

This beautiful Lake Norman home sits right on the water. We are located 2 miles off of I-77 at exit 33 in Mooresville, and centrally located between I-40 and I-85. Lowes Motor Speedway is about 30 mins away. Davidson college is 10 minutes away.

Lake Norman is the largest man made lake in the state of North Carolina, and measures 32,500 acres in size and has 520 miles of shore line. Our spacious 3 bedroom home offers great views of the lake and has beautiful sunsets to the West. Our home has a very spacious floor plan with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, two fully equipped kitchens, with a breakfast bar that seats 2. The dining room has a table that seats 6, and the large living room has full size sofa and several chairs. The bedding configuration is a KING in the master bedroom, and queen in the second bedroom and the third bedroom has bunk beds and a full bed. The upstairs also has a pull out couch, so the house can sleep 11 comfortably. There are flat screen TV's both upstairs and downstairs.

This home also has a two car garage. The upper level has a sun deck as well as a covered deck (which is great for eating outside!) . There is a large professional stainless steel grill, for those great cookouts with the family, and entertaining. The lower portion of the house has a patio, with a swing and chairs for lounging. From this side of the house the sunsets are beautiful and set over the lake. We have installed wireless hi-speed interenet service for your convenience.

In the backyard, we have a great oak tree that provides shade for most of the backyard and of course a tire swing for the kids.

On the waterfront we have a pier with seating and a floating dock with a slip. We have deep water at the piers end, which helps with catching fish from the dock. We have a great supply of rafts and toys that will provide hours of fun. Our beach area has a ramp for easy access in and out of the water for the whole family. The yard is extremely large and flat. The driveway can handle 10+ cars.

Great restaurants are only minutes away (we have recommendations!) as well as easy access to grocery stores. Charlotte is just 30 mins to the South and Winston-Salem 65 mins to the North. For those who like the North Carolina mountains, we are only a 90 minute drive away. We welcome our guests to come and enjoy our lakehouse as much as we do.

This home will rent quickly, so reserve the week you want and not the week that is left over. The house next door is also owned by us and for extremely large families or get togethers it is possible to reserve both houses for up to 30 guests in total, other house is VRBO #722363.Note: Please note rental rates are subject to change and may increase or decrease depending on availability.

About Doug Lawing

We lived in the Lake Norman area for a few years and had to relocate back to the North. When this home came on the market we jumped on it, knowing the great location and great access to the lake. We try to get back as often as we can, and always tell our friends 'You live, where we vacation'.

Doug Lawing purchased this house in 2012

Why Doug Lawing chose Lake Norman

Have always wanted to live on lake front property. Beautiful views, great swimming, convenient location, etc.

What makes this house unique

Great back yard that the kids can run around and play in. Huge oak tree the provides great shade, a boat house that has a ramp for easy access in and out of the lake to play. A perfect dock to tie up a boat, jetski, or fish. We live outside from the minute we arrive.

Great stay for our family gathering

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this property and the owners' other property right next door so my family could attend/prepare for my daughter's wedding in Charlotte. With 11 grandkids, staying at a hotel was not a good option. These houses were just right for giving everyone their space when needed and the lake and docks, as well as the tire swing at the one house were great for giving the kids something to do. We stayed mostly in the other property since it had the larger kitchen and gathering space, so all I can really say about this house is that the family members that stayed there were please with the bedroom arrangements and the availability of bedding and towels. We did not use the kitchens other than for overflow food.

The property was very convenient to any shopping that we needed, with every store within a 10 minute drive, including BJ, Target, Walmart, CVS, Publix

All in all, an enjoyable stay and it made my first use of VRBO memorable- I would recommend these properties to others......

The property manager was very prompt in answering some questions while we were there ...

Great Lake Stay

  • 5 of 5

Amazing location and view. Great sunsets. Close to shopping and restaurants, but right on the lake. Nice part of lake for water sports. We brought our boat and parked this on the side of the dock without issues. We liked the swimming area that was protected between the dock and the yard - the kids were safe and away from any lake traffic. We stayed at another home in the past on lake norman and the position of the dock forced the kids too close to boat traffic (it was also a narrower and busier part of the lake). The protected swim area and location on a wider part of the lake are really nice features of this property and would be a key draw for families with young kids. The house was large and comfortable, but not fancy or decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with just about everything (condiments, dishes, etc), and if not, the grocery store is just 5 minutes away. The garage was nice for storing our tube and boat trailer when not used. The straight and long driveway was great for parking our two vehicles plus the boat and trailer when we first arrived (easy to navigate). The level yard without any steps was nice for my older mother to handle (but the narrow inside staircase to get between the two levels of the house was rough for her - she would usually just use the outside staircase which was wider and had a stable handrail). The patio on the lower level was our favorite spot! My only disappointment and suggestion for improvement: many of the windows in the house are old and were a little hazy - would be nice to have new windows and clear views of the beautiful lake from all the rooms inside. Overall, great stay in a roomy, comfortable house with an amazing spot right on the lake.

Perfect for get togethers large and small

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this beautiful house. We rented kayaks and stand-up paddleboards from a local company, and they delivered right to our door. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet, the lake was always cool and pleasant, and the house is awesome.

They had a very nice gas grill with a full tank, and two weber charcoal grills. The kitchen is fully stocked, check out the fridge and cabinets before you go grocery shopping (and the grocery store is less than a mile away). There's some fun stuff for little kids in the back yard, including a tire swing (looks to be a NASCAR tire) and a slide. If you have a large group, this house is really two houses, with a kitchen, master bedroom and bathrooms upstairs, and a whole 'nother kitchen, with two bedrooms downstairs, one of which has bunk beds as well as a queen bed. The Hanger 33 restaurant/club is also right down the street, great place to get dinner/drinks if you don't want to cook for everyone. It is shockingly close to the highway, you would never know it while you're at the house but it is really easy to get to. Just a great place to stay, thoroughly recommended.
