Welcome to Poolside, an airy, light-filled Spanish Ranch-style home located in South Palm Springs' Los Compadres Neighborhood, just blocks away from shopping and dining. Sited on over 12,000. square feet of land with cactus and tropical gardens including Palm, Olive, and citrus trees, the almost 2,200. sq foot home invites an easy indoor-outdoor lifestyle through 5 large patio doors, 4 to the back pool and gardens, and 1 to the front 'courtyard' anchored by a large gurgling fountain.

The layout of the home is open and inviting, perfect for gatherings with family or friends. The living room, dining area, 'bar car', and kitchen are all open; the living & dining areas, plus the wetbar, open to both the pool and the front courtyard, while the kitchen and 'bar car', which is a perfect place to play games, watch TV, or use as additional dining space open to the pool and patio. The two 'master bedrooms' face the pool and are located on opposite ends of the home from one another. Both have patio doors leading to the pool and back gardens. Two additional bedrooms face the front and look out onto the cactus garden and an olive tree, and have views of the Santa Rosa Mountains.

The back gardens and pool area are large with plenty of space to lounge poolside, and dine alfresco. The views to Mt San Jacinto are breathtaking from the pool deck. For kids and our four-legged friends, there is plenty of grass to play on. In the far 'triangle' there is another fountain set in a garden of bamboo, palms, succulents, and exotic cacti. Citrus trees - grapefruit, tangerine, lime, tangelo, orange, kumquat, and lemon - line the perimeter of the property.

Hi, We're John and Russell. Thank you for taking the time to read about our desert 'Poolside' home. We lived full-time in our Palm Springs home for many years. We now live in Oakland, but visit as often as we can. It's our second home! We've made quite a few improvements to the home over the years, especially in the yard.

We knew that Palm Springs was magical the first time we visited the desert together in 1998. We love the small-town atmosphere with world-class amenities, we love the mountain views, night swimming in the summers, picking an abundance of citrus in the fall and winter.

What makes this house unique

We found our Poolside home during an open house and it was just what we'd been looking for in terms of size, layout, yard size, and location. We love that the pool is a focal point from so many rooms in the home. And, we love that every room offers a view of either the mountains, the pool, or desert landscape. We're just blocks from two grocery stores, a variety of retail stores and restaurants, and not far from the Palm Springs village, popular hiking trails, and golf courses. It's the perfect location!

Wonderful time in Palm Springs!

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to spend Spring Break. It was central to all the places we wanted to be (golf, children's museum, zoo) and the ideal place to spend time together when we weren't out and about. Comfortable, clean, spacious. Backyard was ideal for kids with the pool and just SPACE! We could all be together without having to be right on top of each other if we stayed in a hotel. Russell (owner) made the booking painless and Jean, the neighbor and property manager, couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. We loved every second of our stay. Thank you!

Golf getaway

We had a group of friends stay at this home for 4 nights. Everything was as advertised and very comfortable. Out hostess "Jean" from across the street was great and really made our stay great. The home was quiet and all the fruit trees were a bonus.

We would happily stay at this home again.

Well-appointed, comfortable, with a side of everything

We had just the best getaway at Poolside. It is close to everything but hidden in a quiet neighborhood perfect for relaxing. The house has a wonderful great room filled with art and lovely views of the mountains from the pool and backyard. Bedrooms both close for families with kids and also on opposite ends of the house for guests. The kitchen had all that you could need for vacation, though you might just go for a good walk and treat yourself to breakfast instead. We have rented many vacation homes and I'm not sure we have had any better owners/managers we have dealt with - they struck just the right balance of communication and accessibility. I can't recommend this property highly enough - and hope we get back soon!

We just ended our winter stay at Poolside and found this to be a wonderful home. We've been wintering in PSP since 1997 and have previously owned property in this neighborhood and knew it to be quiet and well situated. The yard for this property is fabulous as one of the owners has landscape architecture in his background and produced a wonderfully balanced array of flora that attracts all manner of birdlife, not to mention the producing citrus trees that we enjoyed throughout our stay. The property manager lives directly across the street and was delightful, as well as helpful. One peculiar requirement of this property was the mandatory listing of overnight visitors' names, which felt a bit intrusive (first time ever encountered); however, there's a "Keep our Neighborhoods Quiet-Limit Vacation Rentals" campaign afoot in greater PSP and we suspect there's a correlation. Having said that, it would not deter us from renting this lovely home again in the future.

Wonderful house, Great location

Our family rented this home in Palm Springs for a week at Christmastime. It's a beautiful, well maintained, well appointed house on a very quiet cul de sac which is also close to downtown and amenities of PS. The owners and local manager (right across the street) were easy to do business with, friendly and helpful - leaving lots of informaiton about the house, pool ,and local restaurants, etc. We are experienced vaction renters and this home is one of the nicest we've stayed in. We would highly recommend it.
