About Lori Lynn

John and I are semi-retired and divide our winter time between Ajijic and our condo in Manzanillo. In the summers, we're in Idaho playing with our grandson, Dylan.

We moved to Ajijic in 2004 and continue to enjoy every minute.

Lori Lynn purchased this house in 2010

Why Lori Lynn chose Ajijic

We stumbled onto this home in early 2010 and fell in love with the potential. Very quiet street, great area and within easy walking distance to everything we need. We spent the first five years on renovations and are so pleased with the results.

Chula Vista is a lovely community - very close to Ajijic Village - but yet far enough away to enjoy more peace and quiet. We have lovely American, Canadian, European and Mexican neighbors. The houses are well kept (for the most part), colorful and close together. Our area is especially enjoyable as it's high enough on the hill to enjoy some really nice views of Lake Chapala and the beautiful western mountains.

We also enjoy our location for the walkability it offers - Superlake Supermarket is just down the hill, as well as many other shops, movie theatres, restaurants, etc. The quaint little village of San Antonio, a vibrant little Mexican community, is just south of our neighborhood.

The Perfect Location and Perfect Home!

  • 5 of 5

We selected this site for our 30th wedding anniversary and couldn't have picked a better location or welcoming environment. From the beautiful lush gardens surrounding the crystal clear pool to the inviting front entrance to the home, every step offered a view to take in and enjoy. We felt instantly at home but at the same time were able appreciate all the thought and effort that went in to decorating this awesome oasis located in a perfect location between Aijiic and Chapala.

We didn't cook too much because there are incredible restaurants everywhere you look, but when we did, everything was there. I don't think there was one thing I needed that wasn't there!

My husband and I were lucky enough to get the master bedroom which includes a big closet and dressing room along with a beautiful shower and soaking tub. There was also a large dresser that held all we needed for our 8-day stay.

The TV room is a bit small for more than 2 people but normally that wouldn't bother me. There was just so much going on while we were there (hurricanes, earthquakes, and a Seahawks game) that I wanted to keep up on. Remember though, that the house comes with full Shaw Direct TV so you can find what you need. I was even able to watch my local Seattle news in the morning while drinking my coffee.

The walk from the house to the main road down was pleasant and pretty easy but if you want to buy groceries and cart them back up the hill, prepare for some extra effort or hire a cab. They are parked right outside Walmart so that makes it completely do-able.

It's also important to learn how much the bus costs (do it ... it's an experience of a lifetime ... little boys singing or an elderly man playing guitar ... for a few pesos of course) and learn the locations for the places you want to go so the bus driver knows approximately where you want to get off. When trying to catch a bus, stand in an area with plenty of shoulder and wave your arm to ask him to stop.

All I can say is "rent this beautiful home." You will be completely satisfied!

A Fantastic Experience!

  • 5 of 5

From our arrival in Ajijic we knew we were in for something special. What a lovely home. Lori and John were so friendly and accommodating. Introduced us to a realtor, gave us a comprehensive lay of the land and recommended the best places to visit, eat and check out. The house itself felt so much like home. The pool was a special treat ! As a chef I found the kitchen very well appointed and easy to work in. From our welcome glass of wine with our hosts through our all too short time in Ajijic it felt more like we were staying with friends than a rental.

Thanks Lori, we can't wait to return

Did anyone so PARADISE!

  • 5 of 5

Omg! What an awesome home that Lori and John have created in Ajijic. We fell in love with Ajijic and this beautiful home. Where to start beautiful, awesome, paradise. Let's start at the beginning of planing our vacation away from home. Lori was was so helpful from the beginning, she got us a name of someone that we could rent a car from. Mark had one of his workers pick us at the bus stop coming from Puerto Vallarta and then we were taken right to our paradise. Mark also took us back to bus into PV. We were greeted by Lori and John as if we were already friends. Lori gave us a tour of the house and gardens. She and John have worked every hard to put the paradise together. We enjoyed the mirador a lot. The sunsets were awesome from up there. So about house it had everything you needed to feel like home. We did very little cooking but when we did everything was there. The decor of the house was so calming and beautiful. The colours outside and inside were beautiful, yes I do use beautiful a lot but can't help it. We truly fell in love with Lori and John's home away fro home. The town is lovely, we enjoyed the golf that was a 5 minute drive away, that was wonderful. The restaurants were very good and can't beat the price of the food. Well I can't say enough about paradise just give it a try it's beautiful ! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us. We plan to stay in touch, I hope to enjoy your company when come next time!

A Little Piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Sadly, our stay will soon be at an end in Lori and John's house in lower Chula Vista near Ajijic. Lori has done an exceptional job in decorating the house. There are beautiful designer touches everywhere, splashes of color, and the garden is an extension of her artistic eye with its many types of flowering plants. We sit on the patio for hours each day and never tire of the beauty in front of us, nor the birds flitting here and there. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the furniture of a high quality and the bonus is the gardener and housekeeper, both delightful people who made our stay effortless. We'd certainly return and recommend this home to our friends. And, by the way, shopping is within an easy walking distance and the bus to Ajijic or Chapala runs close by every 20 minutes. We've managed splendidly without a car.

Owner's Response: Bob, Heidi and Carolyn were the perfect guests. They treated our home as their own and were lovely and thoughtful with our staff. We do hope they return soon.

Paradise on a budget

  • 5 of 5

I'm not much of a writer but I have to say this, this house is even much better in reality than its pictures on the web site. I totally recommend this house to anyone who wants to stay in Chapala area, and I wouldn't think about any other place when it comes to Chapala accommodation. Thanks Lori and John for letting us stay in your lovely house. I can imagine how hard you've worked to create such a little paradise.
