This adorable cottage is the one! It's been completely renovated from top to bottom. Upon arrival you will see this cute blue cottage with it's picture perfect white picket fence. The entry foyer has lots of natural light and opens on to a large living room with lovely furniture and a beautiful large print of Paris. It features a 42 inch flat screen TV equipped with wireless streaming via Apple TV. Both bedrooms are equipped with queen beds and decorated with soothing colors and nice linens. Both have good sized closets. Each bathroom has been renovated with new tile, paint and fixtures. The hall bath has a tub/shower combination and a skylight that lets in natural light. The second bathroom is a more European style bathroom with a stand up shower and new sink and fixtures. The renovated fully equipped kitchen features new white cabinets, new stainless steel appliances, quartz countertop and a breakfast bar. The kitchen opens up to a family room with a dining table that seats 6-8, exposed brick wall, a comfy couch and a 48 inch flat screen TV with cable to enjoy while cooking and socializing. There are french doors from the kitchen/family area that open to a huge fenced in backyard and patio with outdoor seating for 8. The house also features hardwood floors, carport area, completely fenced in front and back yards, separate area with washer/dryer, water softener and high speed wireless internet. FLETC WELCOME!
The neighborhood is absolutely adorable. Cute, quaint and quiet with many people walking, running, biking and walking dogs down to the marsh area which is right around the corner where you can do some birdwatching.
Bike trails are everywhere so bring your bike. Bike to the beach(1.8 miles), bike to the nearby nature park, bike to the grocery store or bike to the many restaurants, bars and shops in Redfern Village.
Beach: 1.8 miles to the beach. Walk or bicycle or drive, sidewalk all the way, over 300 free parking spaces at beach. There's a beautiful pavilion built in 2008 with restrooms at the Old Coast Guard Station, and about 300 parking spaces, all free. There are also many, many other public accesses to the beach that are less crowded. I will give you the inside scoop of my favorite ones.
Restaurants, shops and bars: This house is close to one of the main areas for restaurants, shops and bars. The Redfern Village is within walking and biking distance. Try one of the many restaurants.. Catch 228 which has an oyster happy hour everyday, Blackwater Grill, Bubba Garcia's for great margarita's and mexican food, Gnat's that usually has live music and many, many more!
Grocery stores: The Harris Teeter is a quick bike ride away. It's definitely my favorite place for shopping as they have a great selection of produce and many house made specialties including a breakfast bar, hot bar and salad bar everyday. Sometimes they put a smoker in the parking lot and smoke ribs and chicken during some of the holiday weekends.
I cannot say enough things about how wonderful the island is to enjoy. The extreme tides are amazing and you will be surprised at how beautiful the marshes are with the changing of the tides and the light all day. There are many, many day trips such as Jekyll Island, Little Saint Simon's Island(only by boat), the cute town of Darien and the quaint fisherman's village of Shellman's Bluff.
You will never want to leave!
