Located less than a mile from Langley, this cozy and cute little cottage in the trees has a loft bedroom with deck and a view out to the water through the trees. Very private and quiet, with beach access just down the hill and two separate lawn areas to sit out and enjoy nature. Stroll along the beach or into town and get a feel for Whidbey and all of its beauty. The little kitchen is well equipped for cooking a tasty meal, or if you prefer, there are a number of great restaurant options within walking distance. All the amenities that Langley has to offer are close by: coffee shops, live theater plus a movie theater, shopping, groceries, bank, library, post office, antiques, and much more. What a great place to sit and enjoy a book, write, relax, or spend time at a hobby you never have time for at home! Being close to Langley, yet tucked away, it's a perfect combination. Come relax, unwind, and recharge your batteries!
The loft bedroom offers a queen bed, TV and door to the deck. There is a table and chairs on the deck, which overlooks the yard and out to the water. Watch the deer graze and the sun sparkle through the tree branches. The large bathroom offers tub/shower and includes a full size washer and dryer (behind a curtain).
The living room has a wood fire place and is open to the kitchen. There is extra space, similar to a sun room, that wraps around two sides of the cabin, with big windows and skylights, window seats, table and chairs, and a propane fireplace. Shelves offer books and games. There is a separate little futon around the corner (with some privacy) which gives you options for a 3rd person or for friends traveling together.
The private yard is quiet and full of tall trees and wildlife. The beach is located down a somewhat steep dirt drive (no parking available at bottom, so access on foot). Watch the tides before heading out, but otherwise enjoy long walks in either direction. You can even walk into Langley via the beach, and back via the road or vice versa.
Shopping, eating, wine tasting, hiking, biking, parks, water fun etc. is all close by! If you wish to venture further, at the center of the island is the oldest town in Washington State, Coupeville, another local treasure to enjoy. A great home base for fun locally, Whidbey Island is also close enough to Seattle, Port Townsend, Anacortes, and the San Juan Islands for an enjoyable day trip.
For evening entertainment, we have a small town theater that runs current movies right in Langley, as well as various live theater options. From arts, farmers markets, music, and seasonal events such as winery, farm and art tours, to apple pressing, parades, welcoming the whales, etc. there are often many more activities happening around here than one can possibly partake in!
