Cute, private cabin in walking distance to Langley!

Bedrooms 1
Space 700 sq ft
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

1 loft bedroom w/ queen bed, full bath & laundry, view from deck, private yard

Located less than a mile from Langley, this cozy and cute little cottage in the trees has a loft bedroom with deck and a view out to the water through the trees. Very private and quiet, with beach access just down the hill and two separate lawn areas to sit out and enjoy nature. Stroll along the beach or into town and get a feel for Whidbey and all of its beauty. The little kitchen is well equipped for cooking a tasty meal, or if you prefer, there are a number of great restaurant options within walking distance. All the amenities that Langley has to offer are close by: coffee shops, live theater plus a movie theater, shopping, groceries, bank, library, post office, antiques, and much more. What a great place to sit and enjoy a book, write, relax, or spend time at a hobby you never have time for at home! Being close to Langley, yet tucked away, it's a perfect combination. Come relax, unwind, and recharge your batteries!

The loft bedroom offers a queen bed, TV and door to the deck. There is a table and chairs on the deck, which overlooks the yard and out to the water. Watch the deer graze and the sun sparkle through the tree branches. The large bathroom offers tub/shower and includes a full size washer and dryer (behind a curtain).

The living room has a wood fire place and is open to the kitchen. There is extra space, similar to a sun room, that wraps around two sides of the cabin, with big windows and skylights, window seats, table and chairs, and a propane fireplace. Shelves offer books and games. There is a separate little futon around the corner (with some privacy) which gives you options for a 3rd person or for friends traveling together.

The private yard is quiet and full of tall trees and wildlife. The beach is located down a somewhat steep dirt drive (no parking available at bottom, so access on foot). Watch the tides before heading out, but otherwise enjoy long walks in either direction. You can even walk into Langley via the beach, and back via the road or vice versa.

Shopping, eating, wine tasting, hiking, biking, parks, water fun etc. is all close by! If you wish to venture further, at the center of the island is the oldest town in Washington State, Coupeville, another local treasure to enjoy. A great home base for fun locally, Whidbey Island is also close enough to Seattle, Port Townsend, Anacortes, and the San Juan Islands for an enjoyable day trip.

For evening entertainment, we have a small town theater that runs current movies right in Langley, as well as various live theater options. From arts, farmers markets, music, and seasonal events such as winery, farm and art tours, to apple pressing, parades, welcoming the whales, etc. there are often many more activities happening around here than one can possibly partake in!

tranquil cottage in the woods

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed the cottage, walked into town - 25-30 minutes, so not a walk for everybody. I was attending the DjangoFestNW music festival and had a wonderful time.

Privacy, Beauty, Amenities & Peace

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the property several days in June and loved it! This was our first time staying in a vacation cottage and our first time on the Washington Islands. The cabin offered extreme privacy, greenery, peace and quiet, and all the amenities of home (only without a TV which we didn't miss.) Also, it was only a short walk to quaint downtown Langley. The only drawback might be that the master bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom was on the first floor, so it may not work too well for those with mobility issues.

We would definitely stay again if we're in the area.

Marlene & Dexter

Cozy Cabin & Beautiful Island!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I went here on our honeymoon and I were so glad we did! Thanks cabin was wonderfully built and maintained. When we arrived at the cabin there was no question that we got our money's worth and more. For just my wife and I, there was plenty of room. Not only is there a loft with a queen size bed but there is a tub/shower, full size washer and dryer, a kitchen with everything you need (appliances and such), an indoor entrance that wraps around the cabin to include a reading book with another bed (full I believe), a traditional heating stove at the bottom of the stairs leading to the loft with a loveseat. They also have two roughly 20-23 inch televisions (one in the kitchen and one in the loft). Not only does the cabin have all of that stuff, it looks great too!

Now for the island, the cabin is in a little town called Langley. It is adorable. If I were you, I would just save on gas and I would walk into town (5-10 min). It's a beautiful walk with tons of nature (docile deers and rabbits!), but you get a chance to see the town nice and slow that way. The best food that we had for a decent price was at the Braeburn. It is a little emote expensive with portions not as large as other places but they do well with their food! We ate out basically our entire honeymoon for almost all of our meals (haha it was great) and for breakfast or lunch, The Braeburn won the day in comparison to other places we are at. The other restaurant that was amazing was Spyhop! They were great for dinner!!! We each got a burger and then shared an order of fish and chips, so good!!! We also did go to Anthony's in Anacortes (north of Oak Harbor) and unfortunately we got very sick the next day (we both had the spinach-artichoke-crab-shrimp dip). Everything tasted good at Anthony's but it cost a fortune and had little food in comparison to a smaller, less popular joint. That is why I would go with Spyhop anyway over Anthony's. There are a few other places to eat on the island that are worth it but we will let you discover that on ya own :) Have a great trip and make your way into Seattle for Pikes Place and stuff, it rocks! Thanks for the best Honeymoon ever!!!!!
