Outside very rustic but inside needs help
We stayed here for a week for thanksgiving. There were 4 adults , a 7 year old and 4month old. I found the house dirty, not sure if empty for a few weeks before we arrived. The stove was not clean and the pans could be replaced. There were plenty of dishes and glasses. There was quite a bit of condiments left by previous vacationers, preferred to have room for my things. It took up a lot of room. It was odd that the large master bedroom window did not have a curtain or blind on it. Felt a bit exposed. We had trouble finding space for our stuff. Many of the closets and drawers were full. We enjoyed ourselves in spite of the space.
Wonderful and convenient
Great, easy check in and great location
We enjoyed our visit. The house is exactly what we were needing. Plenty of space for our group of 5 guys and the items that we brought with us. Everyone had their own bed and there is room for air mattresses if necessary. I would recommend bringing a decent pot and cookie sheet, for cooking. Couldn't find a cookie sheet. The pots that are there work. They have a bit of wear and tear on them from renters using them and damaging the surfaces.
A lady showed up unexpectedly, the first night that we were there. She claimed to be the manager, I couldn't confirm. I didn't have any communication with her through the rental process. It was odd that a lady would show up so late at night, by herself and stay for a few hours. She seemed to have good intentions, I imagine she would have startled a different group.
Kind of cute place but dirty
On the surface this place appears to be cute but after a few minutes it's pretty clear the cleaning service is not equipped for cleaning rentals. Bathrooms had mold and looked like they hadn't been scrubbed in awhile. We skipped showering before a wedding because they were that gross to us. Bedding was gross and stained. Couches were dirty and had filthy dog hair/dander filled blankets covering them. It appears the "professional cleaners" only take out the trash and spray Glade to cover up the odor. This place had potential but needs some serious time spent cleaning and the couches and linens should probably be replaced. Also, much of the decor, while cute, was not safe for children.
I wouldn't stay here again, I would prefer my sleeping bag and a tent in the woods. Had we not been staying with another family I probably would have left before the first night.
Creek Side Retreat
We really enjoyed this comfortable creek side cottage w/ quick access to downtown Asheville, and the Blue Ridge parkway ( both less than 15 minutes). Make sure you visit Sierra Nevada Brewery, amazing! Cottage was clean and had all the basic necessities we needed. Gorgeous views from master BR and sound of the creek was very peaceful. We will definitely stay here again, sure beats the nearby hotels! Asheville is truly a a special place!
Nice house in Fairview
This house was great for what we needed. The amenities and kitchen were a little outdated, but we spent most of our time in Asheville so it wasn't really a problem. The biggest complaint about the house is it sits right on a fairly busy road. It's not a highway but it is clearly visible from the street and there is no privacy. It was not quite as remote as I thought it was going to be for being not in downtown Asheville or in an accessible neighborhood. The house was clean and as it said, 15 minutes from Asheville.
Just minutes away from Downtown Asheville, Biltmore House. Fairview is a small, beautiful community with local restaurants, library, community pool, hiking and biking.
