About Scott Behrendt

Our families favorite place to go for 10 years! We purchased a resort in Northern WI so we decided to share the house with others!

Scott Behrendt purchased this house in 2005

Why Scott Behrendt chose Central

Cozy character with all the amenities of a 4 season home. 450 acre sand bottom lake right out the back door. The area has so many amenities to offer: fishing, skiing, excellent golf, hunting, shooting range, ATV trails... even lake Petenwell for those looking for Muskie or 'big water' are all just minutes away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The house everything we needed for an awesome weekend, glad we made the drive for a change of scenery, really enjoyed seeing some wildlife: turkeys, deer, bald eagle! Even got my girlfriend into ice fishing!

Good Get-Away Location in the Autumn

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I, both in our mid-60s, needed a get-away from our everyday life that wouldn't cost too much in terms of time or money, but that would be a relaxing counter-point to our busy lives. This property met our needs.

The home was fine. Nice kitchen, good family room, very good view of the lake. The bedroom on the first floor was a bit dark, but we choose it because of the bed size and for convenience sake. When we arrived, we looked at the upstairs bedroom, which were nicely decorated and probably would have been good for children or grandchildren. There is a screen porch, but it was too cold (frost warnings) for us to use it. There were ample cooking items, as advertised, to allow us to make our own meals. We both enjoy cooking, so that's what we did. There were supper clubs in the area, but they we didn't choose to try them. The property itself was OK, with the highlight being the view of the lake, which was great.

Our host responded to my inquiries very quickly, and allowed us to come about 45 minutes prior to the normal check-in time, which was very nice of him. It took us 3 1/2 hours from the northwest Chicago suburbs, and it was really an easy drive. Using our GPS, we found food markets easily within 15 or 20 minutes of the chalet. The neighborhood was fairly deserted this time of year, so it was a quiet and relaxing stay. I read almost four books in 5 days! I did a little fishing (caught a nice large-mouth bass), but I was a little disappointed to learn that the dock had already been brought in to shore. We did a little walking and driving sight seeing, and saw that the area was a mix of new homes and older ones.

I could see how, with the dock and other amenities, this would be an excellent vacation location in the summer for water-friendly families.

All and all, for a very quiet fall getaway, I would recommend this property.

Great Lake House!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough about how wonderful the cabin is. It is homey, it is well stocked, and obviously well cared for. It was absolutely perfect and what we are/were looking for. Thank you very much for opening your lake house to us.

We didn't use the fire pit, but wood is available. The pier is nice for fishing and swimming. The lake is perfect size, and we even enjoyed kayaking in the morning.

We had a great time and cannot wait to come back.

The owners were so hospitable and made us feel like we were visiting a family friend's home. I have rented a lot of properties and the thought that has gone in to stocking this home with everything one could possible need was amazing. The lake location was great with the small sandy beach area and a big yard for any outdoor activity or game. Would rent this one again.

cozy, cottage-like home by the lake

  • 4 of 5

First impression of the home, I was not impressed. The front of the home is something I would not brag about. But as soon as I stepped out of the car and walked around the property, I thought to myself that this place is very relaxing, peaceful and serene. The inside of the house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which is enough for 8 ppl. The kitchen, dining room, living room combo works because it causes all the ppl to gather in the same area. Anymore ppl I thing we would've got crowded. The back porch is wonderfully located facing the lake and very nice to sit and drink coffee. The firepit is conveniently located in the backyard and the pier is a good spot for fishing. This home is wonderful and would vacation here again.

Great family reunion and birthday

  • 5 of 5

Everything was wonderful at this property - it had everything we needed and great owners (Scott & family) made it all a memorable weekend to celebrate with kids and grandkids! There was plenty of space in the yard and fishing off the dock was a blast for the kids - they caught and released like crazy! So nice to have the grill, the firepit and especially the screened in porch for playing cards at night - adorable interior decorating throughout and everything was very well maintained. Couldn't ask for a better first time VRBO experience!

Fabulous Fall Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay for a long family weekend! House was well equipped and the owner, Scott was just as other reviewers mentioned; extremely responsive and helpful. The lake was great for fishing - even just off the dock. We all thought the house was very cozy and did have everything needed. We especially liked the views which were wonderful. Definitely would stay here again and recommend to family and friends.
