About Graham Moran
I am retired, and live in the villa when it is not rented. I also have an apartment in the area.
Graham Moran purchased this Villa in 2001
Why Graham Moran chose Almuñécar
The Costa Tropical has the best climate in Europe and Cerro Gordo is the most beautiful location. The house is located in a protected natural park, so no further building is possible in the immediate surroundings. The natural park extends into the sea, so there is an abundance of sea life off the nearby beaches.
What makes this Villa unique
Beautiful views west, a very quiet area, a swimming pool which is 12 meters long and a maximum of 2 meters deep, the nearby beach of Cantarijan, Granada and the ski slopes one hours drive. The urbanization has security cameras on the entrance road. The house is unusually large, and the lower level can be used as a separate apartment.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
A lovely spot to stay beautiful views.

"The villa was for us a fantastic place to prolong the summer of Northen Europe. The villa is situated on a smal peninsula about 300 m from the coastline and about 80 m above sealevel. The wievs along the coast and the direct seawiev is magnificent and must be one of the most beautiful wievs along the southen coast of Spain.
The villa itself are well equiped and are suitabel for holidays with friends and family, or just as a couple.
We enjoyed the pool, the terreses and the roomy house very much.
"Description mentioned pe...
"Description mentioned perfectly refers to the reality. The week spent in La Herradura was really outstanding, also Mr. Moran treated us very kindly. We can nothing but recommend."
Since the property has had such excellent reviews, we were enthusiastically waiting for our stay. Unfortunately our stay was very disappointing. The villa was unclean when we arrived. Dishes looked like they hadn't been washed, floors were full of dust, there were moldy bread pieces in highchair for babies, baby bed had dirty sheets in it and both were covered in dust. Most of the first two days we spent by cleaning all floors and equipment of the villa thoroughly. We had to fix/clean the vacuum cleaner before we even started since it was so full of dirt that it didn't work. Dishes had to be washed by hand before putting them in to the dish washer. Some of the cleaning equipment had to be replaced with new equipment because they were also dirty.
In our opinion, villa is not well suited for families. It is rambling and full of stairs so you have to keep smaller children under supervision constantly. Even though property information mentions that there's 2000 sqm. of lawn/garden it is completely uncured so apart from the pool there's no space for the kids to play in. The plot looked a bit like junkyard, since there's lots of weird stuff laying around the plot (pile of wood/sticks for example).
The apartment is in a dead-end road and the neighborhood felt unsafe to us, because one night car started to follow us in the road. It turned just before the property, but this repeated to every three cars that our vacation group had. All happened in the same evening within few hours time window. We never find out why the car followed us. Also, the property owner sent us information via e-mail that there has been burglaries even in daylight and that we should not let anyone in to the property. This information was sent after there was no possibility for refund. We had 8 children with us, so obviously we would have chosen different property if we would have known this before.
For us the only accurate thing in property information was the exceptional view. Apart from that, property was very disappointing.I don't know whether we were just unlucky with the unsatisfactory cleaning or the following cars, but in our group, we have people that have lived in Spain and all of us have been visiting Spain before. We know quite well what to expect for accommodations in Spain, but this property did not meet our expectations at all. The view is amazing (thus the 2 stars), so if you value it highly, choose this property. I wouldn't recommend this property to families.
The property was cleaned to a high standard by a professional company. I was present when they did it. and when Mr Seppala's party arrived. I ask guests to inform me about any problems with the cleaning immediately, yet he waited until he had gone home and I had posted my review of him.
The nature of the house and grounds is clearly described on the web site prior to booking, and I am always happy to answer questions. It was Mr. Seppala's responsibility to decide whether it was suitable for children. There is no mention of a lawn in the description, but there are in fact several flat spaces, two of which are enclosed by security gates.
I always stress to guests that children must be kept under constant supervision because of the pool.
I agree it is not suitable for 8 children. The original inquiry was for 8 adults and 6 children, which makes the stated maximum occupancy of 14. Instead 8 adults and 8 children arrived, in 3 or 4 separate families. I suggest overcrowding may have been part of their problem.
Many families with children have enjoyed their stay at the villa.
The advice given about security is common sense for the Costa del Sol, or indeed almost anywhere in the world.
Mr. Seppala sent me a longer list of complaints before posting this review. It is difficult to see the point of this unless he was hoping for a refund, in which case this review can be taken as an example of a failed attempt at extortion.
He wrote that he has stayed in many places in the world, and always found a higher standard. I wonder if he can supply examples of favorable reviews he has posted.
Traumhafter Blick in ruhiger Lage
