Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Sun-drenched rooms, a balcony overlooking the beach, a swimming pool surrounded by palm trees: If that’s what you’re looking for in a Florida getaway, you’ve just found it. Carlos Pointe 236 on the barrier island of Fort Myers Beach offers all that and more. Please Note: 1-week minimum stay, Saturday arrival and Saturday departure in season.

Recently remodeled, our 2-bedroom corner unit is within the Carlos Point Beach Club, which sits directly on the beach. From the screened-in wraparound balcony, you’ll have panoramic views of the seemingly endless sands and the tranquil Gulf of Mexico. As you gaze out you might see dolphins and manatees swimming alongside boats, pelicans diving for fish, and gulls, hawks, and eagles soaring overhead. You can even dine out here: In addition to lounge chairs, the balcony is furnished with a table for 4 and seating.

The balcony leads into the living area. The space is designed for both comfort and style, from the plush seating to the tiled floors (so wonderfully cool underfoot, especially after you’ve spent the day biking or beachcombing). There’s plenty of room for everyone to kick back and watch a movie on the TV with DVD player or play a rousing game of Pictionary. Or while everyone else is out at the pool, you could take advantage of the solitude to curl up with a book, check your email--Carlos Pointe 236 has free wifi--or just stretch out on the sofa and take a nap.

Adjacent to the living room is the dining area. The long table seats 6 easily, and there’s room for several more at the breakfast bar beside it. The padded dining chairs are designed to accommodate hours of post-meal lingering.

Fort Myers Island is host to many fabulous restaurants, but sometimes you just want a home-cooked meal. Our kitchen has every appliance you could possibly need, as well as cookware and tableware, to prepare and serve even a seven-course feast. And because it’s recently been renovated with cherry cabinets and sparkling stainless-steel appliances, you may find yourself more than happy to spend time there!

Sleeping, of course, is a key component of any vacation, and Carlos Pointe 236 is designed to help you catch up on it. The master bedroom has a sumptuous king-size bed, a wall-mounted TV, and sliding glass doors onto the balcony. You can enjoy a nightcap under the stars, admiring the moonlight’s reflection on the gulf, then in the norming view the beach without leaving the comfort of your bed.

The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds, its own TV, and a window to let in the salty breeze and the heady sunshine. Should you have additional guests, the living room sofa opens into a queen-size bed, so that Carlos Pointe 236 sleeps 6 in total.

There’s a full bathroom for each bedroom, which will make mornings much less hectic. Fresh towels and bedding will be waiting for you, and for additional convenience, Carlos Pointe 236 has its own washer and dryer too. This could be the first time you return from a vacation with a suitcase full of clean clothes!

The condo complex has a heated pool surrounded by plenty of deck chairs and palm trees. There’s a barbecue area as well, perfect for grilling up any snapper, trout, or grouper you reel in from the beach or Big Carlos Pass, which is practically around the corner. You can walk over the bridge to Lovers Key State Park, where you can kayak along mangrove-shaded estuaries and hike or bike along trails.

The beach itself is known for its sugary sands, shallow waters, and lack of undertow. Carlos Pointe is on the quiet southern end of the island, but you can easily get to the shops, restaurants, bars, and more of the northern end by foot, by car, or by hopping on one of the trolleys that frequently stop right outside the complex.

When you stay at Carlos Pointe 236, you can make your vacation as action-packed or as restful as you like. But first you need to make your reservation--so book your stay today!

Clean, comfortable and great location.

This condo was even better than we expected! It really was newly renovated with updated finishes and it felt very clean and comfortable. The bed was memory foam and very comfy. No complaints at all! Easy access to elevator and stairs and a short walk to the pool. The condo even had beach chairs, beach toys, a cooler and a small beach umbrella! As others have noted, the beach is a very long walk, but for those able to make the trek, it’s a great view and provides some great shelling. Not exactly sugar sand, but the condo is a 5 minute drive to great public beach access at Aberdeen St that was never busy (stayed here in May, so not peak).

Our only issues were with Vtrips. We found the after hours check-in to be a bit confusing - there are two doors at their office that both feature keypads and it isn’t clear which one has the key room. Better signage would have saved us 15 minutes of late-night frustration! The online instructions could have been more clear about the parking pass and registration at the condo. Also, the Housekeeping staff arrived 10 minutes prior to checkout and almost knocked down the door trying to get in. We had to explain we had a 6 month old and that we were running a few minutes late. They did accommodate but I would suggest allowing guests a small grace period before sending housekeeping.

Fully committed to improving and making things even better, we will review each concern thoroughly and reassess our processes so the same issues do not arise again. Unit 4 stars

  • 3 of 5

This particular unit was great. The balcony had a great view. The downside is that you can also see and hear the road and traffic from part of the balcony- the same side that also has the best ocean view. So you get ocean and traffic at same time. We did have an issue with balcony floor being dirty upon arrival but they came to clean the next day. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the ocean from the unit. So not recommended for people that need a stroller or cart to get to the beach. The unit itself was very accommodating and updated. King size bed has a memory foam topper. Some toilet paper, Kleenex and dish and hand soap were there upon arrival. There were NO other cleaning supplies in the unit. I would have appreciated at least some disinfectant spray and toilet bowl cleaner. All the other places I have stayed have provided these at minimum and I would have thought with a rental company managing it that it would be standard. I tried vacuuming but the vacuum just kept spitting things out even after I emptied the remains that were left by previous people. Not great for kids. The balcony screen is very dirty and my kids came in with black soot on their hands and clothes every time they touched it and there isn’t much room to run around. The pool is tiny! Sign says max of 13 people at a time. That might even be too many. There are beach toys and chairs, but no towels. The washer and dryer were very convenient. But no laundry basket. In general the property was clean except for a couple random things like electrical insulation that was all over the ground for days and never got cleaned up during our stay. The beach was fine but a lot of seewead. We experienced red tide during our stay and the dead fish did not get cleaned up for several days. We chose to drive north and south to the public beaches. The area by pier is good for restaurants and Bonita Springs was beautiful.

Owner's Response: Angela, We are happy to hear you and your family enjoyed your stay at Carlos Pointe 236. We do, however, apologize for the balcony floor not being up to par upon your arrival. Our records do show you placed a call about the situation, and we are happy to hear the deed was completed in a timely manner. Also, in regards to the screen door, we have made the necessary notes and changes in our system to be able to handle the repairs. Again, we appreciate your feedback and hope that you continue to book with us.

Condo was perfect - very clean and quiet. Management co was lacking in info they gave us:internet code wrong, did not supply elevator code to bldg, I called for beach towels and never got them, Keys were not in lock box when we arrived. Was disappointed in them compared to past years rental companies' we have used. Other than that they were very nice to deal with, no problems renting or contracting. Had a great time

Fort Meyers Serenity

  • 4 of 5

Very Nice condominium unit with easy access to the beach. Clean and very comfortable. The location was on the quiet side of the island which we preferred. The private beach was spacious and a great place to look for shells. The only negative is the unit lacked adequate hot water supply. After 3 - 5 minutes of showering, the hot water would run out. Other than that, we very much enjoyed the location and layout of this unit. Would definitely consider it again.

Confortable y completo, con una hermosa vista

  • 5 of 5
