Sun-drenched rooms, a balcony overlooking the beach, a swimming pool surrounded by palm trees: If that’s what you’re looking for in a Florida getaway, you’ve just found it. Carlos Pointe 236 on the barrier island of Fort Myers Beach offers all that and more. Please Note: 1-week minimum stay, Saturday arrival and Saturday departure in season.
Recently remodeled, our 2-bedroom corner unit is within the Carlos Point Beach Club, which sits directly on the beach. From the screened-in wraparound balcony, you’ll have panoramic views of the seemingly endless sands and the tranquil Gulf of Mexico. As you gaze out you might see dolphins and manatees swimming alongside boats, pelicans diving for fish, and gulls, hawks, and eagles soaring overhead. You can even dine out here: In addition to lounge chairs, the balcony is furnished with a table for 4 and seating.
The balcony leads into the living area. The space is designed for both comfort and style, from the plush seating to the tiled floors (so wonderfully cool underfoot, especially after you’ve spent the day biking or beachcombing). There’s plenty of room for everyone to kick back and watch a movie on the TV with DVD player or play a rousing game of Pictionary. Or while everyone else is out at the pool, you could take advantage of the solitude to curl up with a book, check your email--Carlos Pointe 236 has free wifi--or just stretch out on the sofa and take a nap.
Adjacent to the living room is the dining area. The long table seats 6 easily, and there’s room for several more at the breakfast bar beside it. The padded dining chairs are designed to accommodate hours of post-meal lingering.
Fort Myers Island is host to many fabulous restaurants, but sometimes you just want a home-cooked meal. Our kitchen has every appliance you could possibly need, as well as cookware and tableware, to prepare and serve even a seven-course feast. And because it’s recently been renovated with cherry cabinets and sparkling stainless-steel appliances, you may find yourself more than happy to spend time there!
Sleeping, of course, is a key component of any vacation, and Carlos Pointe 236 is designed to help you catch up on it. The master bedroom has a sumptuous king-size bed, a wall-mounted TV, and sliding glass doors onto the balcony. You can enjoy a nightcap under the stars, admiring the moonlight’s reflection on the gulf, then in the norming view the beach without leaving the comfort of your bed.
The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds, its own TV, and a window to let in the salty breeze and the heady sunshine. Should you have additional guests, the living room sofa opens into a queen-size bed, so that Carlos Pointe 236 sleeps 6 in total.
There’s a full bathroom for each bedroom, which will make mornings much less hectic. Fresh towels and bedding will be waiting for you, and for additional convenience, Carlos Pointe 236 has its own washer and dryer too. This could be the first time you return from a vacation with a suitcase full of clean clothes!
The condo complex has a heated pool surrounded by plenty of deck chairs and palm trees. There’s a barbecue area as well, perfect for grilling up any snapper, trout, or grouper you reel in from the beach or Big Carlos Pass, which is practically around the corner. You can walk over the bridge to Lovers Key State Park, where you can kayak along mangrove-shaded estuaries and hike or bike along trails.
The beach itself is known for its sugary sands, shallow waters, and lack of undertow. Carlos Pointe is on the quiet southern end of the island, but you can easily get to the shops, restaurants, bars, and more of the northern end by foot, by car, or by hopping on one of the trolleys that frequently stop right outside the complex.
When you stay at Carlos Pointe 236, you can make your vacation as action-packed or as restful as you like. But first you need to make your reservation--so book your stay today!
