Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

A spacious balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Bright, impeccably furnished rooms. A heated pool. The beach as your backyard. Restaurants and shops just a stroll away. Gateway Villa 796 offers all this, and so much more!

Located on the 7th floor of a gated complex, Gateway Villa 796 proves that elegance and convenience can go hand in hand. As soon as you step into the open living-dining area you’ll know you made the right choice of vacation getaway. The furnishings are as gorgeous as they are comfortable, from the cushiony sofa (which opens into a bed for 2!) and the roomy armchairs to the dining table that seats 6 with ease.

There’s plenty of space for everyone to congregate in the living room to watch a favorite movie on the HDTV or to sprawl out while surfing the web via the free WiFi. And when you’re not eating at the dining table, set up the Monopoly board or deal a round of cards; the well-padded seats encourage lingering long after the meal is over.

Sliding glass doors separate the living area from the balcony so that even when you’re indoors you can relish the spectacular view of the gulf. Of course, once you’re out on the balcony, the vista is even more stunning. When you’re relaxing on a lounge chair or enjoying drinks at the dining table, you’ll have a front-row seat from which to watch dolphins and manatees frolic among boats as seabirds swoop across the endless skies.

Whether you prefer preparing elaborate gourmet meals or ordering takeout, you’ll appreciate the convenience of the fully equipped kitchen. It comes with all the appliances, cookware, prep tools, and tableware you need, and the open layout means you can gaze out at the gulf as you cook. There’s a dishwasher too because when you’re mere steps from the beach, the last thing you want to waste time doing is scrubbing plates.

If you think the living area of Gateway Villa 796 is luxe, wait until you see the 2 bedrooms. The master opens onto the balcony, so that you can enjoy a late-night drink under the stars before sprawling out onto the king-size bed. Open the drapes before turning in, and in the morning you’ll wake to a view of the gulf--what a way to start the day! The master bedroom has its own bathroom, as beautifully furnished as the rest of the condo.

With 2 twin beds, the 2nd bedroom is perfect for the kids. They’ll love having such a lovely space to themselves--especially once they spy the TV in their room! The 2nd bathroom has both a tub and a shower, and with one bathroom for each bedroom, mornings will be much less hectic. Plenty of fresh towels will be waiting for you, as well as bedding, blankets, and pillows--no need to bring your own.

Of course, you don’t come to Florida to spend all your time indoors, even in a condo as lovely as Gateway Villa 796. Be sure to pack your swimsuit, as the complex has its own oversized heated pool. It also has an outdoor dining area, complete with grills so that you can barbecue your catch of the day (or steaks from the supermarket!).

Just beyond the condo grounds is the beach itself. Not only has it long been considered one of the best in the country, thanks to its pristine sands and quiet waters, but it’s also home to the annual American Sand Sculpting Championship. Here’s your chance to build some sandcastles of your own… when you’re not paddleboarding, parasailing, swimming, or searching for shells, that is.

For less strenuous pursuits, saunter over to the island’s Times Square area, a trove of shops, restaurants, and nightspots. It’s great to be able to head out for dinner and drinks without having to drive!

Gateway Villa 796 is a perfectly furnished condo in a perfect location--which means it is the perfect place to stay for a perfect vacation. What are you waiting for? Book your stay today, before someone else beats you to it!

Beautiful view and nice location

  • 4 of 5

The view and large balcony is a great feature. The pros for us were the balcony, unit was clean, bed was comfortable, nice tv (it rained our week so this was good), walking distance to Times Square restaurants and shops, easy drive to Sanibel, called for the smoke alarm beeping and they came right out to changed the battery. Cons for us pillows were not good really thin and uncomfortable, some kitchen utensils need replaced especially the knives (we went out and bought one), some updating and fixes could be used. I definitely would stay again for the view and location. I would bring my own pillow, lol.

Love the location and size of condo.

  • 4 of 5

We did not stay this year because I had surgery. We will be there next year though. We have stayed in this unit for 15 years and we enjoy the location. We like the size of the condo. I can review from last years stay. It had twelve things wrong the first day we moved in. We met with the staff on the first day available and they corrected 9 things right away. The broken lazy boy took a month to get a new one. It is a good thing we stay 3 months so we enjoyed the lazy boy for the remaining two months. Looking forward to next year. It has been our home away from home for 15 years and we treat it like it was our home.

Great Location, Clean, As Advertised

  • 4 of 5

We really liked the condo, but didn't really care for the management company and the check in / check out process. Arriving and having to drive to the other end of the island to pickup keys, and then take them back on our way out of town, wasted 2-3 hours total. (The main drag is under construction and of course check-in/check out days the traffic is very heavy.) This hassle could be saved on each end with a keypad entry as most of our prior rentals have had.

After all of that, when we did finally get in, the kitchen cabinet door was laying up against the side of the fridge. I emailed the management company and never heard back. I had also tried to contact them in advance about a washer and dryer and coffee pot. They told me there was no washer/dryer (which was false) and when I asked if there were coin machines on site, they simply never replied.

We were welcomed by a nasty handwritten note on the door about tracking in sand.....on top of several similar greetings in the elevator about proper behavior. It just wasn't very welcoming, and I would expect, based on what we paid for a week, the information was common sense, or could have been communicated more professionally.

We also witnessed what appeared to be the onsite manager or maintenance man being very crappy to kids getting on the elevator, or coming in from the beach.

I have used VRBO and Home and Away for probable 20 rentals in the past 5-10 years and this had everything it said had. We just didn't find the management company or the onsite staff (or resident?) to be very welcoming or friendly. Otherwise, the location is great, and the unit was clean.

Great place, excellent view, excellent location on Fort Myers Beach!

  • 5 of 5

Condo was clean and had plenty of amenities from games to books and a fully stocked kitchen with everything from a blender to a crockpot. Even had beach chairs, sand toys and umbrellas with a beach caddy for transportation to and from the beach! Excellent location on the seventh floor allowed for views of the gulf on one side and the bay on the other. The unit did have a washer and dryer in it which was very helpful throughout the week. Only supplied a minimal amount of paper products like toilet paper and paper towels, not enough. Other than those minor things everything was great. One of the best locations on Fort Myers Beach, the north end is the best in my opinion. Close to everything but yet still feels private! A very short walk to Times square and you have all the action you could want.
