About Dianne Kramer
Brett Kramer is a high school teacher in Kansas. Dianne Kramer is a nurse practitioner in Kansas. We both love Georgetown and the mountain activity offered here. Our summer vacation in Georgetown was a family outing, with the 3 year old grandson ready to move the rest of his family here from Kansas City. The whole family loved the trip.
Dianne Kramer purchased this House in 2014
Why Dianne Kramer chose Georgetown
We purchased the property after a summer family vacation in Georgetown. We fell in love with the town and the lifestyle, and wanted to have it again, as well as to offer it to other family groups for memory building at a slower pace! Georgetown is located on the front range, very close to Loveland Ski Area, and about 30-45 minutes from Keystone, depending on traffic and weather. Also close to Denver.
What makes this House unique
This home is very cozy, allowing spots to get away from each other but also plenty of areas to be together in a large group. The location on this very gentle lake promises to be a place to make memories with the grandkids, and a place for my husband to just sit and fish if he wishes. The many windows in the home allow for great ventilation on warm days. We are off the interstate just enough that the noise is not a big problem, but accessibility is available.

Great place to stay - close to the slopes!
We enjoyed our stay at this home in Georgetown very much and were kicking ourselves for not setting up our trip to spend more days there. Next time we will know better and will plan accordingly!! The house was great. Very cool layout with the loft upstairs. Large house with plenty of room if you have a bigger group . It was just my husband and I so we only really used the upper floors. Just a short 15 minute drive to Loveland Ski Area - with the early snow we were able to get in some skiing - in October! Would happily stay here again.
We made some wonderful memories .to wake up and have coffee and walk outside and go fishing was totally awesome.
the paddle boat was an extra bonus for the kids . Our drive-up guanella pass truly breathtaking. And all the adorable shops in Georgetown .what a wonderful mini vacation we had.
The interstate is very close making the cabin convenient but not as quiet. The cabin was nice. I wouldn’t want more than 6 people as living room/ dining room could be tight. The lake was great but not private. Georgetown is a cute little town.
Not a smoke-free residence
Unfortunately, the home smelled very heavily of cigarette smoke, triggering an allergy attack for two of our family members. We were only able to stay overnight before having to cut our stay short and leave three days early. We did not get refunded for the days we missed, but got a partial refund. Would not recommend this home for anyone who requires a smoke-free residence.
The smoke problem has been taken care of. The guests DID receive a refund for the nights they did not stay, contrary to what the review says.
We responded to their issue immediately upon hearing of it, and am disappointed to see this type of response from them.
Perfect for kids, lots of room!
Our stay at this property was great overall.
Things we liked: very kid friendly. Toys underneath the stairs in a small hidden room, & movies and books provided. We found everything we needed- fans, hairdryer, spices, cooking utensils. There were so many sleeping options, so for a large family it was perfect. One of our kids slept in a room that you can only reach with a tall step stool above the kitchen- it was the perfect cave for her. There was a paddle boat, life jackets, and fishing rods (although the rods were not functional), and the decks were great.
Things we didn't like: the garage and lower level smelled terribly of cigarette smoke upon arrival. We opened windows and had fans going, but it still lingered 2 days later. There is no air conditioning that we could find, and so the top floor got pretty warm. The view of the lake is great, but with that, you also have a view and sound of the interstate.
Comfortable and great location to all the attractions
The tiny town of Georgetown has 3 main areas, the historic downtown, where many stores, art and specialty shops for ice cream, baked goods, are located, the area near the visitor center, which includes restaurants, convenience stores, and Family Dollar, and the Georgetown Loop Railroad park, for train rides. The lake area is primarily housing.
