About John and Colleen Zeigler

We are outdoor, nature lovers and when we saw this cabin, we knew we could greatly enjoy all of our hobbies and interests.

John and Colleen Zeigler purchased this cabin in 2014

Why John and Colleen Zeigler chose Upcountry

This cabin is in the perfect location. The trout fishing is one of the best in the country....that's why we purchased it!

In between those great fishing experiences, we have a great place to relax and think about the one that got away!

The Upstate is a really beautiful area-great places to hike, see waterfalls, shop and eat out in great nearby towns.

What makes this cabin unique

In the mountains , away from it all with just enough activities in the area to fill ones day.

Everything you need and more!

This mountain home is a fantastic place to getaway and relax while still having the comforts of home. My 4 children loved the little play nook just for them. That's was a really thoughtful touch. The home has ample space for everyone....large bedrooms and a wonderful porch for relaxing. Not having to lug our own sheets and towels was an added bonus. The king bed upstairs was super comfortable, and my kids loved the stars on the ceiling overhead. We thoroughly enjoyed using the canoe on the tranquil lake. It was great having an outdoor activity for the kids to do close to the home. The community was quiet and the neighbors we encountered on our walks to the lake were friendly and welcoming. And the little chocolates left on our pillows....yum! I would not hesitate to recommend this clean, safe, GREAT rental to anyone!

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of adults looking for a convenient cabin near Westminster, SC because we were going to the yearly Apple Festival there. Had to stretch our looking area because everything was booked for the Clemson ball game that weekend. Boy, did we hit the jackpot by finding this little bit of heaven! It is pretty secluded in a beautiful wooded area with a lovely. long driveway. Loved the front porch with all the nice glider rockers and swings! The house is uniquely decorated and is very clean and comfortable! Also, it was well stocked with "extras" that you might need but didn't bring with you. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone and hope to come back myself! The minor drawback to this property is that is about 20 miles to the nearest town, but there is a Dollar General about three miles from the cabin where you can get your staples! Thank you John and Coleen for sharing your home.

As we arrived, we were meet with so many wonderful surprises -- first of all the surroundings were awesome and the home was supplied with everything you could possibly need and more. We'd like to thank John and Colleen Zeigler for sharing there beautiful home with us and for the thorough directions. The home was encased with children's books, movies and toys and one of my favorites was the stars that illuminated over our beds at night. The front and back porch was great for viewing wildlife, and enjoying some fresh air. We visited on the 21st of Aug. 2017 and enjoyed seeing half of the eclipse before the clouds interfered but the clouds did not bother our daughter and her family on their canoe ride around the lake. The location is close enough that you can visit many waterfalls and other attractions. My family and I would highly recommend this home and we look forward to our next visit. We only have two negative things to say and that is " the visit was way to short ! and we didn't get to see a bear, maybe next time."

Ideal setting for weekend getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We could not have been more impressed with this cabin. Immaculately clean, perfectly decorated, and has all the amenities of home. The owners have thought of everything to make the stay enjoyable for all ages. My family of five enjoyed the nearby lake access (very quiet, we had it all to ourselves on an August weekend) with canoe along with the hiking trails and waterfall. We loved it so much we were referring friends and family to the cabin before the weekend was over. Can't wait to return when time allows.

Owner's Response: Thankyou for your kind words and great review!! We so enjoy making the cabin a great place for ALL ages. The waterfalls, lake, hiking, rivers in the area are some of the best in this part of the country. Then, we love relaxing inside after some great outdoor activities...on the porch, deck, or watching football. We'd love to have your friends come and visit!
