A little slice of Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have stayed at this property a few times now and we always love it here. We rented both units this time (Studio apartment downstairs and 2 bedroom upstairs), but we have also just rented the Studio by itself. The location, views, beach and hiking are awesome. Many days we never even leave! The kids on this trip (ages 8 to 14 boys and girls) love it here as well, they can do everything from boogie board to digging in the sand, catching fish and snorkeling. We even watched some surfers from the house one day. There is something magical about Moloaa Bay that can't actually be put into words, but anyone who's been there will know. This is not the fanciest property in HI but the location can't be beat. If you don't need the Ritz Carlton this is the place for you! I dream about my next trip to this house. Enjoy!

Amazing beach house experience!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent a week at this beach house for our honeymoon, and it was perfect!! In a seasoned beach house stocked with anything you might need or want, this house was definitely worth it! The house is about 2 miles off the highway and overlooks the entire Moloaa Bay. The waves literally crash on the rocks right below the house. The beach is quiet and beautiful with plenty of exploring areas around the bay. We did not have any cell phone service (AT&T) which was completely fine with us, but the house was equipped with great WIFI access so we could still FaceTime home and share our views with our friends and family.

The house was clean and everything was in good working order. We stocked up at the grocery store and had every breakfast and almost every dinner on one of the two lanais. Waking up every morning to a beautiful sunrise was one of our most favorite memories. We did an excursion or a hike everyday which were also amazing. It can be about an hour or more drive to the south/west side of the island but we only made that trek once to ride on the zodiac boats which was definitely worth the drive. The airport, stores, restaurants, and some hikes or excursions were all within about a 30 minute drive.

We met Mike on our final day here and he was very pleasant. You can tell he really cherishes this house and is attentive to the needs of the house and their guests. We thank Mike and Cheryl for opening their home to us and providing the perfect romantic honeymoon! We hope to be back again! Mahalo!

Couldn't ask for more

We stayed in this condo in May, we can't wait to get back there. The photos are great, even so, reality is better! The views from every window are stunning, it's the most amazing beach place ever. Cheryl and Mike are welcoming and caring. They have done an amazing job renovating these apartments to make them comfortable. The fabulous Hawaiian beach does the rest!

Ahhh......Home Beach Home...!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd trip to Moloa'a Bay and staying in what we call "our" home. When we first arrived this time it really was like coming home again. Of course the beach is what we think is the best kept secret in Kauai. The accommodations are perfect. We have no complaints. The beds in both rooms are very comfortable and the linens are very soft. The floor to ceiling windows on both levels make every minute remind you are truly in paradise. If you are a coffee drinker bring your own. Besides that you truly have everything you need for cooking, going to the beach, etc. Our 22 year old son joined us a week after arriving and said that he could not have realized from us sharing our previous years experience how relaxing, comfortable and beautiful this place truly is. Cannot wait to come back home again next year! Thank You Cheryl and Mike!!

My husband & I stayed in this 2 bedroom unit for 1 week (mid-April) for our 10 year wedding anniversary, & the whole experience just breathed life into us. This was our first trip away from our 2 young children, so we were definitely looking for a more peaceful atmosphere, & Moloa'a Bay fulfilled that in every way. We did spend some evenings out - went to a movie, walked along the delightful Hanapepe art night, and our neighbors mentioned a fun tiki bar, so if you're looking for those things you can find them. But what Moloa'a Bay and this beautiful home have going for them more than anything is a sense of serenity and fun.

The house itself is definitely a beach house. Some chipped paint, no dishwasher, kitschy decor - if you're looking for a 5-star hotel, then this is not the place for you. The ONLY thing I didn't like was the studio below - they could hear us moving chairs around our 1st morning & I really wanted a sense of privacy, but they were gone after a couple days. Next time we'll rent the whole thing. Regardless, I have stayed in quite a few ultra-chic facilities in my life & none of them has what Moloa'a has. The home is not manicured to the point that you feel like you're in a museum... instead it invites you into the beach lifestyle. Every day we saw local families come set up a fishing pole or two on the beach. One of the local guides we met was clearly surprised/impressed to hear where we were staying, saying that it's one of the places locals really go, & that Moloa'a is "what you think of when you think of Kauai".

And with that beach lifestyle came PLENTY of comfort! My husband has struggled for years with chronic back & neck pain, & we both slept incredibly well on the bed in the master bedroom. The outdoor shower was nice & warm, & the indoor shower was wonderful (plenty of water pressure & hot water, as well as soap/shampoo/conditioner). The whole place was locked & secure, but with plenty of windows to open and feel the ocean breezes while we were home. The kitchen had more than everything we needed, & the on-site laundry was key. But in all honesty, all you'll be doing the whole time will be gazing out the floor-to-ceiling windows - the ocean just draws you in!

On our last full day on the island we went to Hanalei beach, having heard it was a must-see. It was lovely, but after a few minutes on the beach we turned to each other & agreed, we just wanted to go back to "our place". Thank you for sharing this magnificent home!

Amazing Stay Waking Every Day to a Beauriful Sunrise and Sound of the Waves.

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had a great stay. The sound of the waves put us to sleep every night and we woke up starring at a sunrise. The home was great. The oceanfront tall Windows made it feel as if you were waking on the beach only in a much more comfortable bed. We even had two seals playing around one day right in front of the beach home. When we left we were truly rested. Also one issue we had had at other rentals was the bed. Not here. The bed was comfortable and helped immensely in getting a good night sleep. We hope to come back one day.

Thanks you.
