Cozy 1/1 fully furnished and ready to enjoy. We have not updated the kitchen or bath so we could keep our monthly price low. Our unit is clean and comfortable. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and space in the living room for an inflatable bed. Fully stocked with linens and dishes and beach toys of course. Tennis rackets and bikes if you need them are also available. You absolutely can't beat the location, just over the Dunedin causeway on the way to Honeymoon island and Caladesi. Across from the Pinellas Trail which runs for 45 miles along the beach towns in this gorgeous area. 3 miles from downtown Dunedin 2 miles from adorable Palm Harbor and around the corner from Ozona. All of which are full of fun shops and restaurants and frequent festivals. This is the most affordable place to stay for the best of the area. If you're looking for fun in the sun, and a quiet winter retreat- you've found the perfect place!
My husband Dave and I manage the condo. We also live and work full time in the area so we are always nearby. My sister in law, April, and I bought this condo as a fun family retreat location. I moved to the area in the early 90's from Michigan. April grew up in Illinois and still lives there. Whenever April and the kids visit we always take them to Honeymoon Island. We love the beautiful beach and often rent kayaks on the causeway to paddle over to Caladesi Island. It's such a beautiful, natural, quiet area. Of course the kids all have their favorite shops and restaurants in the nearby towns but everyone agrees on Strachens for ice cream. We love the Pinellas Trail. As the kids have gotten older we are able to ride bikes to more of the fun towns in the area but with 4 great towns within a few miles it doesn't matter which direction we bike on the trail; it's not long before we are sitting at a restaurant or strolling through a little shop. After all of our years of exploring in the area it seems we find new things to enjoy every time they visit. This year we will not be using the condo during the winter months so we would like to share our wonderful space with you. It's quiet and peaceful with paradise right outside your door. We know you will have an amazing stay and would love to hear about any new places you discover. :)
Kathy Willey-Coogan purchased this condo in 2005
We have lived in the area for over 20 years and spent time up and down the coast exploring and enjoying all the beaches and great towns. Of everyplace we've been This has been the area we always come back to. It's quiet and serene. Surrounded by nature and wildlife. The beaches are gorgeous. The town of Dunedin is one of the most lovely areas we have ever been. Downtown is very quaint. The nature parks and golf courses are lush and the people are laid back and friendly. It just feels like our second home here. So that's why when we decided to look for a condo we looked near Honeymood Island. We loved this complex because it had beautiful grounds with the little picnic/beach area where we could watch the sunset and the kids could put their feet in the sand, the great pool, tennis courts and shuffleboard. It has turned out to be a lovely community with lots to do yet quiet and peaceful.
We couldn't believe we found a place that was this close to the islands and the Pinellas Trail with a little beach of its own within walking distance just past the community pool. It's by far the most wonderful complex in the area. We were so happy to find it.
This was a lovely little condo in a perfect location to downtown Dunedin and Honeymoon Island. Quiet and comfortable with everything you need. Thank you Kathy for being available on short notice and working with me! I loved staying here!
What a perfect spot! We really enjoyed our stay at this little condo. The place is not updated but that's reflected in the great price. It was actually such a great location we didn't care about the fact the kitchen & bath were never remodeled. We were out on the bike path riding to tarpon for Greek food one day and off to honey moon island to go kayaking the next. Dunedin is such a quant little town. We really love the charming Saturday market and all the activities going on in the area. It was so nice to come home after a long day of fun and sit out at the little park on the grounds to just watch the sunset over the gulf. We Wished we could've just stayed forever! We will miss those wonderful sunny days but most of all the quiet, tranquil evenings. Friendly people and beautiful weather made our stay just delightful.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Kathy & April's condo. It's quiet and comfortable. No updates but that's reflected in the price. I'd rather save hundreds of dollars than have granite countertops in a kitchen I don't even use. There are too many amazing restaurants nearby...some of our favorites where Kelly's & Alfresco's in downtown Dunedin and Ozona Blue just a mile away and Thirsty Marlin's in Palm Harbor- For breakfast we often walked to Benedicts in the plaza next door. Love their quiche! I am happy as long as my toes are in the sand so I love the little beach at the complex and Honeymoon island is amazing! My husband got some great nature pictures over at Caledesi Island, we will be framing for his den at home. We rented kayaks at the Dunedin Causeway and rode our bikes all over to the great little towns nearby. Most are within a few miles, lots of great areas to explore. My husband thought the bike ride was too far but he loved the greek food in Tarpon Springs and I loved the shops! I cant think of a winter that we enjoyed ourselves as much as this one. We are definitely coming back every chance we get.
Dunedin, Florida is a small coastal town with a fun-loving, laid back atmosphere. We have such a fun downtown area with amazing restaurants, beautiful art shows and festivals where they close off a section of main street to feature art, crafts and antiques. Many of the festivals feature live bands and great food. Mardi Gras, is a parade you will never forget, with floats and beads, food and music filling the town.
North of the condo, just a mile around the corner is the fun, eclectic town of Ozona. It has neat little restaurants and old Florida charm. Another mile north is the quaint little town of Palm Harbor. This is the most lovely Florida town, graced with elegance since it was founded in the 1860's. Just a few miles farther north on alt 19 or on the Pinellass Trail you come to Tarpon springs, a Greek community. They have sponge docks, the best Greek food and fun local shops full of Greek traditional items as well as fun souvenirs. Want to get on the water? Take a boat ride to Anclote key, a beautiful non-developed island known for its shelling.
Dunedin is within a easy drive of attractions and museums. Clearwater Beach (10 minutes) Bush gardens (50 minutes), lowery park zoo (40 minutes), Florida aquarium (45 minutes) Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World about 1 hour and 45 minutes away.
They've been back to film a second Dolphin's Tale' at the Clearwater Aquarium. Now Winter the dolphin has a new friend. You can see them both at the Aquarium right down the street!
We are also a short drive to St. Pete with it's growing downtown area you can find upscale shops and elegant restaurants for a fun night on the town. The world famous Dali museum and Chihuly glass gallery are in St. Petersburg as well.
If you enjoy biking, jogging or walking the Pinellas trail is across from our complex. You can take the path north all the way to Tarpon Springs and South all the way to St. Pete. There is also a cute trolley that runs the same stretch from Tarpon to St Pete stopping in each town along the way!
The golf courses in the area are challenging yet picturesque. Dunedin county club was recently voted the best value golf course in america. It is also on the national registry of historic places. Built in 1927 by Donald Ross. Even if you don't play golf, go along-ride in the cart and enjoy the beauty.
If you're a baseball fan, come check out our Dunedin BlueJays. They're looking good this year and it's an inexpensive afternoon out with lots of excitement.
Here at our beaches we have an opportunity to walk along uninterrupted gorgeous sandy beaches for hours if you choose. Sunshine and palm trees, seashells and beautiful warm gulf water. There's kayaking, fishing or wind surfing rentals on the Dunedin Causeway on the way to Honeymoon Island. Then take the ferry over to Caladesi Island for one of the most pristine, untouched natural beaches in America. Dunedin is a wonderful area we've lived here more than 20 years and still find little nature parks we never stopped into before or sections of the beaches that we hadn't visited. We know you will enjoy the area and we'd be happy to share all our 'local' favorites so you're stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Truth is, you'll probably want to come back year after year. :)
