Guestbook comments from the manager

We originally inquired about another place but it was taken before we booked so we chose this location instead. It was wonderful! We enjoyed the cozy living room and fireplace and found the location to be centrally located but not on a busy street. It was quiet and relaxing and had everything we needed.

Super cute and great location!

  • 3 of 5

Over all it was a great experience. A couple of small things that would have gone a long way are as follows. A heavier shower curtain, better towels that matched. The towels we're crappy. A plug in to freshen it up. It smelled a little musty. But overall a good experience with a comfy bed and comfy sofa. We walked around alot. Great location!

Location, Location, Location!

  • 5 of 5

Wow, you couldn't ask for a better location. Within walking distance of Forsyth Park, which is SO amazingly beautiful, and of the square with the Mercer House (Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil), one of my favorite squares! I would have walked everywhere if I didn't have my parents with me (they just weren't able to do so). There are lots of great things to see and do within walking distance. I loved the whole historic feel of this property from the street, to the building itself, the gate to get in, the courtyard, everything! You get the real feel of Historic Savannah when you stay here and actually they have made some upgrades to the kitchen and the living room since these pictures were taken, so it actually looks better than the pictures! The only issue we had was that we kept getting these torrential rains every afternoon because it was so hot. One day when we came home the kitchen floor was flooded. But it really wasn't a huge deal. We wiped it up with towels and it didn't happen again and, as other people mentioned, it's an older building so the bathroom/shower isn't huge, but it's doable. Oh, and we did kind of get a parking ticket :( Someone took our spot and we parked on the other side of the road and didn't see the "street sweeper" sign. Oh well,

it was a holiday, what can you do? I would stay here again! Actually, I'd move to Savannah if I had my way! Thanks for a great stay at a reasonable price!

An Awesome Historic Experience

  • 5 of 5

Our first visit to Historic Savannah exceeded my expectations.

We stayed 4 nights in a lovely, quaint garden apartment in the historic district. The inviting entry way welcomed us into a well decorated, warm, cozy "home" for our Spring Break vacation.

The apartment was furnished with everything we would need. We loved having morning coffee in the relaxing courtyard outside the kitchen door. The bed was so comfortable and cozy. The living area is also quaint and so comfortable...perfect for 2 rainy evenings.

Be sure to get a parking pass for weekdays.

I would love to stay in the Garden Apartment when we return to Savannah. I highly recommend this wonderful apartment. Location is a beautiful historic neighborhood...and within walking distance of restaurants, parks, and historic sites.

Beautiful Historical Apartment Close to Everything

  • 4 of 5

This Garden Apartment was amazing. I loved the entrance and the original wood and stone floors. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Furnishings were great - we love antiques! We could feel the history in the property. We felt we were living in the past. Exactly why we go to Savannah.

I know that the rest of the building is rented by SCAD attendees BUT it would be great for them to clean up the laundry room after themselves as the laundry and courtyard is shared with them.

The only items that we had problems with were the COLD shower and the size of the shower as well as working on some additional cleanliness in bath and apartment upon arrival. Thank goodness it was hot outside so the cold water was "refreshing" especially after long walks and beach trips. It would be perfect is to move the utilities closet down and expand the bathroom. I am not overly large - 5'2" and 150 pounds and I hit my elbows on the walls - shaving legs - no way! I know that working with a historical property has its limits and I do appreciate that.

It would make this the ONLY place I would ever stay on my 2x a year trips to Savannah. I am excited to see the carriage house as it was being completed during our stay from a SCAD rental to a VRBO rental.

One thing to note - the day we left a Hurricane was expected to make landfall. An employee stopped by to check on us and that was really nice.

Garden Apartment close to the historic district

  • 3 of 5

The apartment was clean and comfortable, within about a 30 minute walk to most restaurants and museums/sites in the historic district. Parking was on the street and the neighborhood seemed safe. Overall average accommodations.
