Perfect spot close to downtown!

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a weekend here with friends and we all loved it. It was super close to downtown...literally only 5 minutes away by car. Ginee was a pleasure to work with. Any questions or concerns I had she addressed them. The house was historic yet modern. The house was wonderful. If you want to be close to downtown this is the place to stay. The most reasonable rates around. Thank you for everything, we will be back again!

Artsy, quirky and convenient

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful home. We stayed with my daughter and son-in-law for a wedding. Our family stayed downtown. We were 6 minutes away from them. We were 6 minutes away from all different areas. Location was great, a hop from the River Arts studios and breweries.

I'm very fastidious but this place was clean and welcoming for guests. Flowers greeted us. The house is funky artsy. We made breakfast and had all the needed utensils for cooking.

Read prior reviews. Didn't smell any oil. I'm hypersensitive and allergic, but even if there were prior animals visiting, this place was clean. My daughter brought her dog and this place is animal friendly, as is the town. We went into artist studios and animals were permitted and greeted with treats.

Also read about the slanted floors in prior reviews. It's a fun artsy older house that has been nicely decorated, so the slightly slanted staircase didn't deter me in the least, even with my knee replacement.

I probably would have given this home a five, but I'm 5 ft tall and had to stretch to reach the mirror to put on makeup. I have only two small requests: place a mirror in the bathrooms a little lower so us shorties can make up and have at least 1 full length mirror so I could have seen how nice I looked dressed for the wedding.

I would come back and stay here again anytime. It is a great house and in a great location.

Birthday Getaway!

  • 4 of 5

A late review.. but better late than never! Ginee and Kevin were both great to work with. I booked the house for a birthday weekend with 6 friends. There was plenty of space for 7 people in the house. The house was very welcoming! The area did seem a little sketchy when we arrived at 3AM, but all concerns went away the next day. The house was close and convenient to all the places we wanted to visit. We never paid more than $11 for an uber! We did have one issue on the day we were leaving, but both Ginee and Kevin were quick to respond and took care of any concerns we may have had! Overall, had a fabulous week!

FANTASTIC!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fun and fantastic time at this vacation rental in Asheville! It was truly a last minute trip. Our hope was to find a house instead of a hotel, so that we could cook at home and relax during our stay. We had some concerns regarding a review, but I can assure you that this place was clean and we had no smell issues whatsoever. We had several conversations with Ginee and we certainly appreciated her help in making this happen for us. She went above and beyond in my book. It's just a short drive to the downtown area as well as to the Biltmore. Fresh flowers in every room was a special touch. We will definitely be back!

Clean and Very Comfortable Stay with a Wintery Surprise!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Asheville and the home met all our needs. We had a couple's getaway weekend with 4 other friends. The home was located in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of space to relax. I was so pleased the home came with towels and linens, so it was one less thing we had to bring. The kitchen had all the cooking equipment needed. The art work and paint scheme in the house added to its character. It was pleasant coming back to clean house to relax and enjoy each other's company. Ginee was a huge help and fantastic to work with leading up to our visit and during our stay. We had a great conversation with her and her recommendations were spot on. Asheville was hit with snow that shut the area down on our day we were suppose to leave. we had to stay an extra night . We all bunkered up like kids on a snowy school day in the warm comfy house. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home and Ginee for all your help!!

Overall positive and good location

  • 3 of 5

This is an old house that has been updated but not renovated. In particular, there are some striking structural issues. If you're tall, some of the ceilings will be a challenge. All of the floors are slanted which might be an issue for people with balance issues. The neighborhood looked a little sketchy but our stay proved to be quiet and uneventful. We visited during cold weather and were comfortably warm. There is a smell of fuel oil that permeates the space though the heating is gas. possibly i residual odor from the ductwork and previous oil heat but if you're sensitive to smells this could be an issue. Also, the bathrooms have louvered bi- folds with no latch.

All that aside, we were pleased with the location and happy to find a dog friendly place to stay. We also enjoyed the holiday touches!

Owner's Response: We are sorry you had these concerns,to clear up some of your remarks-the only slanted ceilings in the home are in the master bedroom and there is plenty of room to devert your path,as I am a general contractor your comment of slanted floors concerned me so I purchased a new level and preceded to place the level in each room-there is an 1/8th of an inch slant coming in the front door all the other rooms are within the bubble. As to the oil smell when we spoke I informed you that there was never any oil in that home and it has always been natural gas(which was purchased 2014) so is very efficient. I am sorry you had this reaction to the house but I assure you that house will be standing another 100 years! Have a wonderful New Year!
