A charming character home nestled against a hillside backdrop of oak, cedar & pine, situated on a picturesque knoll high above quiet cul-de-sac! Access is via private driveway with lots of privacy, views & parking. Once up a flight of steps, take in the commanding Verdugo & San Rafael Ranges, LA skyline & coastal vistas. Every room grants a unique view! Natural barriers surrounding the 3/4 acre parcel provide seclusion, including a drought tolerant nature-setting style yard that attracts many species of birds & wildlife.

Upon entering the foyer, a staircase beckons one further, whilst the timbered beams of a large living room merges with a formal dining area. A French pane door opens onto an oak-shaded deck providing canopy for an outdoor room. A spacious kitchen includes: gas range cook top, double oven, automatic dishwasher and French door refrigerator; whilst the early rays are captured in a befitting breakfast nook. Adjacent to the foyer is a guest bath (1/2) & a laundry room with appliances.

On the second level are two similar south-facing bedrooms, each with panoramic views framed by gabled windows; whilst the third bedroom is northeast-facing en-suite to 1-1/4 baths, including a tub/shower combo, walk-in shower, two sinks & toilet.

Charming secluded older home with spacious common areas and lovely view deck.

We had a family party of 13 attending a wedding at Descanso Gardens across the freeway from this lovely home. We had rented a large four bedroom three bath house for the whole group, but that home was severely water damaged just days before the wedding and we had to find alternative accommodations on just a few days notice. We were in a panic, but Emma and her daughter were wonderful to work with under very stressful circumstances. As it turned out, six of us stayed in this home and the rest booked rooms at the wedding hotel in Pasadena. However, the spacious common areas in this home and the lovely deck provided a perfect venue for various members of the group to hang out together in between wedding events and having this home available greatly enhanced our entire family experience for the wedding. Not to mention the fact that Emma and her daughter were the most gracious of hosts and cooperated to help us solve what it was looking like a disaster in the making. So now we definitely know where to stay the next time we have an occasion to visit this lovely area. Although there were beds for eight, with only one bathroom, we decided to limit our group to six. But otherwise, there was plenty of room for eight to sleep comfortably.

Stay in a million dollar mansion in affluent LA town

Pictures on website do not lie. Huge space with views that do not quit. Caring mother/daughter team who aim to please. Provided carton of eggs, stick of butter, half & half and 2 gallon jug of water in fridge plus coffee, tea, sugar for arrival. Driveway and entrance stairs look formidable, BUT husband with hip and knee replacements managed OK. Small screen TV but plenty of channels on cable. DW was broken during our stay. Website description needs small update--no W/D or 1st floor half bath for guests. Two sinks, tub/shower combo and walk-in shower but only one toilet (all on second floor). Beds and linens comfortable and inviting. Location offers peace from LA bustle and easy access to Mt. Wilson observatory in Angeles National Forest and Descanso Gardens. A very unique opportunity to experience a special neighborhood just 15 minutes from Burbank airport.

What a beautiful home in a wonderful location. Very spacious and bright. The owners were lovely welcoming hosts and our stay there was much to brief. Looking forward to our next visit :)

Downtown Montrose has Festival Events including Arts & Crafts, Classic Car Show, Octoberfest & others; the smallest 8 lane 1930's era Bowling Alley.
